Quite possibly the strongest case of false advertising and misrepresentation I have ever experienced. I have no doubt that this hotel rightfully would have been of a 4-star rating.....in the 1970's. Today, however, it is a 2-star. The good points were the proximity to the beach and the weather. The staff were also very friendly. The hotel itself is very dated and in need of a complete overhaul, as many of the reviews will state, the photos they use, of the rooms, in the advert are not of the rooms that they put you in and the photos of the pool and grounds are from a very long time ago. They do have a maintenance schedule for the hotel as we did have the pleasure of the Greek Chuckle brothers who turned up for 5 hours, drilling scaffold poles to the wall on the beach and arguing as they went about it.....that was a delight! Oh and they cut all aircon off from the 1st Oct which is great when its 29/30 degrees. The main disappointment is the food, by a country mile, the worst I have ever experienced in an all-inclusive hotel. I fully appreciate that with an all-inclusive setup. it does become a bit repetitive, but this was just awful. The quality is just the cheapest they could find, which would be perfectly acceptable if we had booked a 2-star hotel. We ate out every evening as it would have been too depressing to eat at the hotel, thankfully, we found a couple of fantastic restaurants, Knights of Olde and the Italian a few doors further up, just outside of the hotel, and a great coffee shop, Coffee Berry a 5 min walk away. Quite honestly, if the restaurants outside of the hotel were closed, as it was late in the season, we would have come home early. Thomas Cook, you have advertised Waitrose / Marks & Spencer yet delivered Poundland.
