Blue Horizon Hotel

This is the 1st time i have been to Rhodes and i have to say the whole experience was impeccable...our room on the 3rd floor 309 was so clean...the bed was really comfy...everything you need...toiletries supplied...cleaned every day..lovely crisp clean bedding and pillows...we sunbathed on the sunbeds on the beach that had the padding on as they were higher to get up from as i am somewhat curvy 🤭....we were hb...the food was 1st class...great quality and the evening food was so varied and well cooked...it really has been the best hotel and location i have been to...the staff were so friendly and polite and nothing too much trouble....would defo come back here again...one last thing...the hotel is very central to lovely bars..restaurants and shops...the weather was perfect too...the icing on the cake😊

My family and I did 10 days at Blue Horizon, we went half board and cannot complain at all. The variety of foods at breakfast and dinner was unmatched. Evening meals cooked fresh in front of your eyes, each night is a different cuisine. Hotel is nice and rooms cleaned daily and have aircon, pool and area is clean and plenty of sunbeds open 10-6. We used the bar in between the hotel and the beach for lunch approx 30 feet from the end of the pool, gyros €4, variety of salads and hot meals €7-10. Drinks are cheap and fast service. We also booked a massage at the cabana, €30 for 35 minutes, very relaxing. Would recommend. We didn’t stay for the entertainment every night, but the nights we did we enjoyed it, greek dancing, karaoke, fire show and bingo. The entertainers are great fun and very interactive, without being pushy! The evening bar has a variety of cocktails, lagers and mixers, bar staff are very helpful. Plenty of activities throughout the day; darts, water gym, water polo, beach volleyball. I would recommend anyone coming to Rhodes to try this hotel. You can rent a car via the hotel reception. You cannot book excursions through the hotel but there are plenty of excursion shops just outside. The hotel is surrounded to other restaurants, cocktail bars, sports bars, shops, supermarket, the area caters for all. Check out is at 11am, and our flight wasn’t until the evening, we booked with reception for showers before we left, and they provide towels. Would definitely recommend to families.

This hotel was certainly one of the best I've ever stayed in. Rooms were cleaned to a very high standard with fresh towels and bedding daily. The food was great (we were only bed & breakfast) but there was such a good choice and all the staff are so warm and friendly. Lefteri the waiter made us feel very welcome from the start and came and spoke to us every morning. He has worked at the hotel for 36 years which speaks volumes for me. During our stay it was my birthday. I opened my cards in the morning and put them on the dresser. When I returned to the room later that day there was a card and a bottle of wine left for me from the cleaners, Entelo & Bona which I thought was a lovely touch. Thank you ladies! The pool area was also immaculately clean and there was never a problem getting a sunbed. If you couldn't get one right next to the pool there were always plenty available on the grass. The sports facilities were fantastic too and kept my 13 year old son occupied. He would look forward to the water polo, darts and beach volleyball. I joined in with the aqua aerobics which was so much fun and even treated myself to a massage. Ben, head of entertainment took most of the activities and made my son's holiday. He's a great guy who absolutely loves his job and is a huge asset to the hotel. The majority of guests I would say were Dutch who were really lovely to us, spoke perfect English and would invite my son to play volley ball with them in the pool. There were also a few Germans who were fine but a bit more reserved and a few English who would always stop and chat. Not one person I spoke to had a complaint about the hotel or staff. The bar area gets quite busy at lunchtime but it didn't take long to be served and there were always tables available. The gyros was definitely a hit with my son and my husband and I had a salad every day for a healthy option. I tried every salad on the menu and they were all delicious. Andreas from the bar was so kind. A young uni student who wanted to improve his English. He served our food and always made a point of asking if we were having a nice holiday and made lovely polite conversation with us. The beach was very beautiful but a bit windy on occasions for me and the sea looked a bit rough. There were always people swimming and it was nice to watch the windsurfers. The sunbeds on the beach were 4 euros a day. You can also see Turkey from the beach which is apparently only 11 miles away. In the evenings we ate out and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. We opted for Greek food most evenings which was amazing but noticed a few Italian restaurants and the occasional sports bar which served mainly fast food. All in all we never had a bad meal and the Greeks are so hospitable and kind and can't do enough for you. We didn't catch much of the evening entertainment apart from the Greek dancing where the guests participated. Had we known we would have returned earlier to join in. It looked like great fun. Th

We’ve just returned from a 10 night stay half board and we loved the hotel. The room was big enough for myself husband and 10year old daughter and the view was beautiful from the balcony. It was thoroughly cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding, also the tea and coffee was replenished daily aswell. The pool was the perfect temperature for the heat, we just kept getting in and out to cool down, we never had an issue getting 3 sun beds together with an umbrella and we usually went down around 9.30/10am, there are plenty of sun beds on the beach charged at €4 but we decided to stick to the pool as we enjoyed the daily water polo and darts. The entertainment at night was pretty similar to most hotels, there was bingo and a music quiz that we enjoyed. The other entertainment was ok but we did venture out a couple of nights to a sports bar down the road. There is a supermarket just across the road if you turn right as you come out of reception we found this to be very cheap 50cent a big bottle of water €2 baguettes etc Breakfast was ok something for all to eat as had pancakes, fruit, omelettes etc the bacon and sausages weren’t for me but my husband liked them. The dinner was fantastic the salad bar was great, the meat at the show cooking was spot on and all the buffet food was delicious. It wasn’t the biggest buffet we’ve been to abroad but it was definatly the tastiest, the desserts were also amazing. Also the gyros at the snack bar were well worth €4 of a lunch time and nice to feel the breeze from the sea and watch the wind surfers. The staff work so hard and are really friendly, from the cleaners to the waiting staff and all that made our holiday truly lovely thank you, we will 100% return. If I was to have one niggle they could do with having an extra person at the snack bar serving drinks as the queue did get quite big at lunch time but it wasn’t a major issue.

Good experience, pool and bar was really nice. Room was large and clean. All I would say is that it is a little bit outdated but you get what you pay for. Really nice location too Big thanks to the lady at reception who helped me repair my broken case

Positives first, great wind surfing facilities, beautiful sea views from the room, lovely large bathroom, friendly staff, house keeping clean room daily and give fresh towels and fluffy robes, comfy beds, disabled access, food is good quality however they cater more for European. Breakfast the same every morning. Toilets outside incredibly clean and smells lovely. Pharmacy is local too if you need it. Opportunities for improvement- hotel very dated in decor, slow lifts, entertainment repetitive and not the best, they need to replace the act called 'the passengers' - absolutely awful, lots of guests complained about this. You have to pay for sun beds on the beach, theres a pebble and grit beach also, Take sea shoes. You are directly under a flight path, and about 15 mins from the airport, planes every 10 mins or so. All this being said we've had a great holiday. You don't have to stay for entertainment, there are bars and restaurants nearby. I recommend Cavo Tango, the food there is incredible. You will not be dissapointed.
