TownePlace Suites Richland Columbia Point

We love the location of this hotel. It’s across the street from many nice restaurants that face the river. The hotel rooms are large and very clean.

I would avoid this one ... 2-star level rooms with dated design (see their own pics) and a noisy air conditioner that sit below the window and click on/off all night. Very difficult front desk person arguing with me that my Marriott gold status doesn’t work there. TV is the size of a computer monitor with partially burned out back light. (Have pics) Had hair from another human on my bed covering. (Have pics) Beds are hard. Pillows are not great. Front door doesn’t open after 11pm even though there’s a card reader that doesn’t work. Internet doesn’t work with the “fast option” – had to select the “basic” slower option. Won’t be back for a while – sometimes hotels can turn themselves around. Location is good if you want quick access to Columbia Point – that’s about it.

I think the people working here are extremely nice and doing the very best job that they know how. I also question whether THEY are getting enough help! Now, that may not be entirely the fault of ownership, either... it's hard to find people nowadays. I have stayed here a number of times, sometimes under my name, most of the time under company. It's barely 10 years old but it feels WAY older inside... just pretty run down. I was shocked to check in and find out there was no hot tub or pool. It was on a note on the check-in counter. See, I get that it isn't listed in the amenities anymore, but for those who have stayed at the hotel many times, such as I, there's no reason to look at the amenities... we already know what it offers, right? So, that was a dissapointment, though the manager on duty offered me 10,000 Marriott points which I thought was a nice gesture. I spoke to her later and it is clear that she is very sweet and probably hates dealing with people like me, but things were kind of a nightmare: * Upon walking in, it was kind of gross. Like, they had vacuumed, but there were stains all over the carpet. I'm told they replaced it like three months ago. Well, that's a shame then. * The living space is large, but misconfigured. There is no desk. You have to use the table. But if you sit at the table, you face AWAY from the TV. I literally just had to move the TV to the table and try to work that way. * The TV was way to small in the living room for the size of the space. They were older TVs, too. * The power outlet next to the table was put in so janky and wouldn't even hold the prongs in for anything. * The TV in the living room was missing the HDMI cable from the box to the TV. The TV in one of the bedrooms wouldn't turn on because the remote was dead. So I just took the HDMI cable from that TV and put it on the main TV in the living room. * HOWEVER, the Internet WOULD NOT work on the TVs fast enough to run the Internet TV (Netflix, Max, etc). This ENSCO system is absolute horse manure. * I tried to use a Chromecast stick I have. However, because the Marriott uses a splash page after connecting to the Internet, I was unable to actually use it. I had to use my phone as a mobile hot spot. * The windows were really gross. They need a window-washer to do these immediately. I appreciate the kind people, however after some number of years, this will be the last time I stay here.

The room was disappointing! The air condition unit made horrible noise, and the traffic noise was horrific! They offered free internet streaming in the TV, however the internet speed was so incredibly slow it was a joke!

Very friendly staff and the continental breakfast was very good, lots of choices!

No sound insulation No mattress for crib. Just a piece of cardboard Free breakfast was disappointing

The hotel was remodeling rooms, amenities, and facilities. I would stay here again. I like layout and staff. 3rd floor quiet.

Clean, friendly and what was expected.

Overall it was fine. Too much noise from construction above our room. Why would they let them work on a weekend?
