We arrived in Rimini by train and walked to the hotel which took around 30 minutes. When we arrived the receptionist was very pleasant, gave us our room number and pointed us in the right direction. No offer to take our cases or show us to our room. The room was tiny barely enough room for bedside tables either side of the bed. The room appeared to be clean although the morning we left we found a bug in our bed as my photo shows. The bathroom was also tiny with a sliding door which was so close to the bed again very cramped. The cleaning staff start banging and crashing around at about 8am. This is unacceptable to disturb resident’s peace and quiet at this time in the morning. Our room was also next to the laundry which made it even worse! The air conditioning worked although it was noisy. The power points are not EU compatible, I had to go reception where they managed to find one adapter to allow to charge our phones, we couldn’t use or charge any other electronic items such as hair dryer straighteners iPad etc. We booked to go in the spa which you have to pay for. We reported to reception in our robes as instructed and were pointed downstairs. There was no receptionist in the spa so we weren’t offered any towels or water. When we got in the spa there were children in there, not what you expect when you’re looking for tranquility. The spa was adequate at best, too many people which should be limited in my opinion. In fairness when we checked out the the receptionist had noted that we didn’t stay in that long and removed the charge from our bill. We didn’t ask for this they offered which was a nice gesture. There is a swimming pool at hotel which seemed ok although it doesn’t open until 10am, no good if you want an early morning swim after being awoken by the cleaners! We didn’t have breakfast here so I can’t pass judgment on that. The hotel is located on the main strip which is a ramshackle of cheap shops and restaurants, although we did find a nice cocktail bar. I’d thoroughly recommend the 30 minute walk to the old town where there’s a great choice of shops and restaurants in a delightful historical city centre. The beach isn’t very nice here, the water was murky and it was full of dead bugs. The staff here are very helpful, the hotel itself did seem understaffed and did not live up to our expectations. The jewel in the crown here is the old town.
