Praia Ipanema Hotel

Well located hotel but need Urgently some renovation. A bit old school…

Localização excelente, quartos com um tamanho bom, ótimo atendimento, foram rápidos tanto no check in quanto no check out.

Overall it’s a good small hotel .close to everything and very friendly staff .srGerson and team were very helpful. The food was good . I ll go Back there probably without kids .. Rio is great but you need to know your way around . I felt safe . Good options just around the corner for restaurants and shops. I would go very far .

BAD HOTEL with TERRIBLE CUSTUMER CARE & ADMISTRATION!!!!!I was in Rio from 08/25/2022 to 08/29/2022. Mattress very hard and noisy when we move. Bathrooms were very bad, small with leaking from the shower. Bath towels were very old and hard to use. No English channels on the TV. No clock in the apto. Breakfast was good but the same all 4 days. Friendly staff and nice view. I wrote a letter for the manager before leaving the hotel. And the front desk gave to him. Possible he was hiding from me. He did not face me and DID NOT talk to me as the guest. Not even by phone NO IMPROVEMENT for years. I read that this hotel is for SALE for at least 2 years. The administration HaHaHA does not exit over there. They do not care!!!!!

This hotel is such a disappointment and a sad place in such a lively and lovely part of Rio… I will gently start with the positive point: they have an amazing photographer (and most likely photoshoper…) as pictures tend to largely differ from reality - please don’t get trapped. Now looking at less positive points. It’s such a shame that the hotel is not taking care of to that point. All from the rooms, common areas (lobby/ room corridors/ breakfast room) to the pool area, are so old and tired. Probably 30 years of letting this place fading away. (Some picture from reality added). Rooms are small, poorly furnished. Nothing proposed, no coffee, no water offered, crap TV. Nothing on rooms balcony to sit and see the view. Lots of street noise. Not comfortable beds / pillows. Our windows did not close properly… Pool area is quite a sad place, with so much potential. 2 poor table and 4 sunbeds - no service. Sauna does not work… no Gym. Breakfast is ok, but again no service and a sad room. Personnel is not friendly/ helpful. Front desk is ok, partially helpful. Bottom line, the hotel pricing can’t be justified only by the view the hotel benefits and it’s location, it needs some investment and work to raise the quality of its services and level of maintenance. We have tried other hotel in the surroundings (eg, Fairmont, Janeiro, Miramar) which are way better value for money.

Terrible experience, the hotel doesn’t offer minimal security, my friend was robbed outside the hotel when she was catching a uber. The reality is that this situation has happened to many more. The rooms are very old and run down. The only good thing is the view to the beach

The rooms did not live up the the photos they used, and aside from the view were underwhelming. Internet was consistently going out which was aggravating. TV was small and only had 8 channels none of which where sports or movie channels. They had a Netflix option but you have to use your your own personal account.

Came to Rio for carnival and vacation. I had a great stay at Praia Ipanema Hotel. It is right across from the beach, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is very helpful and accommodating and many spoke English! Mariana was especially helpful to me for my stay with planning tours and information and reservations. I will be back!

Don’t get to excited about this hotel the photos on the website it’s not the same as the reality!!! At the moment they are very very dated , old and dirty, doesn’t look nothing at all as the website. Very very disappointed when I got there, service are totally horrible too. Staff very very slowly not even the phone in the room doesn’t work, in case of emergency there’s no one to call. Here is some pictures of the roof top where the pool is located with very only furniture which doesn’t look like in the website. The rooms are very dated as well with old furniture almost falling apart with the bathrooms very old too n dirty n stains everywhere. I totally don’t recommend this at all ! Don’t waste your money n get disappointed like me.
