Victoria Hotel

Beautiful stay from start to finish was blown away by the gorgeous views overlooking the sea.. helped that the weather was gorgeous and we could sit outside! Rooms, really nice can tell have just been refurbished as stated lovely and quirky. Everything from the bed and pillows so comfortable. Free drink & espresso pods in the room. Perfect stay and good location to everything.. not far from Whitby/Scarborough and in perfect location in Robin Hoods Bay. The hotel had such lovely character. Breakfast was included and was gorgeous really enjoyed it. Hopefully we will be back!

The review I am giving is based on my two visits. First on Thursday 13th June and Saturday 15 th June 2024 . On the first visit the young bartender told us we could not book tables but to just come in later, on arrival there were tables with reservations on them. There was also a delay on food as we were told that the tickets had not gone through to the kitchen, the food was good that evening. On the second visit the older bartender booked a table no problem. That evening we ordered soup first which was tasty. The problem occurred on the second course when my wife was served a soggy undercooked cod fish which was sent back to be replaced. I think there are a few issues that need ironing out!

We booked a stay at The Victoria Hotel knowing Robin Hood's Bay to be lovely and a short drive to Whitby and nothing more about it. We would absolutely love to stay there again and can recommend it without any reservation, it's great. A friend in hospitality once said to me that the best dining experiences he's had are usually when you don't remember what you ate and drink because good service surpasses everything and conversely great food can be ruined by bad service. At this hotel both service and food are delightfully exceptional. I will never forget the paella because it's simply the best I've ever tasted including many beautifully prepared versions in Andalucia. The ale pie is also unbeatable. Breakfast has everything right too including many options to satisfy anyone GF or with other intolerances. But what makes it unique is that staff not only cater for your likes with a genuine smile but anticipate and know the menu and dishes very well. After recently staying at Marco Pierre White's spectacular Rudloe Arms, The Victoria is more than a match - in fact the food is much better. It's not just the food though, ALL the staff are so helpful, friendly and warmly efficient. Everyone wears a smart uniform and it feels very professional. The decor is fresh and modern, rooms are beautifully furnished. The outdoor terrace is very lovely with terrific views too. Very, very highly recommended.

WE booked the cosy double room 14 It was a bad experience, right over the kitchen with fans going till 9 o'clock at night, room really outdated, really small, small double bed, in my view it was a really small double bed, room really hot due to kitchen below,

We stayed at Hotel Victoria for two nights and had the best time. Room was lovely with amazing views. We were made to feel very at home and nothing was too much. Complementary gin and tonic in the room was a lovely touch and as I was pregnant, they arranged for a non-alcoholic alternative when we went down for dinner. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was great and very good value. Breakfast was lovely with option to order hot breakfast from a good menu selection. Would recommend.

Lovely hotel ,recently refurbished. Private car park. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable . Views of sea from outside seating area fantastic. Food in restaurant top class. Breakfast comprehensive. Will be returning next year.

We stayed for two nights in Robins Hood Bay and we decided to visit for an evening meal which was lovely and were big portions. We came back the next day to sit in the garden to enjoy drinks overlooking the sea. A great garden area with smashing views

Cannot fault the service and food. Staff fantastic and very helpful. The Hotel offers a relaxing atmosphere with a wonderful Cocktail Bar to relax in after a day exploring the area. It was an excellent weekend and certainly will return. Sitting in the garden overlooking the sea sipping a glass of rose - what more could you want!

We stayed in a room in the house next to the hotel. What a lovely big room we had. Gin & tonic in the room as a welcome drink. Robes for after a bath, lovely. All the staff very friendly & helpful. A real asset to the hotel. Ate dinner in the restaurant. Absolutely lovely. Compliments to the chef. For breakfast there was plenty of choice, hot and cold options. Will recommend anyone and everyone to stay here.
