Relais Castrum Boccea

The hotel is beautiful, beds are not so comfortable, on the day we arrived 8/5/24 the receptionist was very nice and helpful, the next day when we left, the receptionist charged us 15 euros for City Tax !!! When in every hotel we stayed in later we were charged 2 euros for City Tax. We left with the feeling that they still from us!! In the receipt we received it was written in Italian "donation". Although we asked why the City Tex was so expensive, the receptionist said that it was mandatory to pay. We feel that we were cheated and it's a shame.

Wow... what a perfect place! Such beautiful surroundings! Room was beautiful and the bed was comfy. Staff we friendly and all very welcoming! Shuttle bus runs each day into the centre of Rome and food was amazing!! A huge thank you to Christiano.. he did not speak alot of English but was very helpful and accommodating and even took us to the airport the morning we left... so kind! We look forward to our next stay!

The property was very beautiful. It had wildlife (saw a couple foxes, frogs, lizards and cats) and many areas to explore. The staff was very helpful and made every effort to make sure we had transportation (utilized the shuttle many times) when needed. Really enjoyed the extra effort by the staff.

Property great, food disappointing for the price & staff not hospitable

We had a great stay at this beautiful hotel which was a fabulous find. It is very close to Rome to explore the sights but far enough to enjoy relaxing evenings. The staff were really lovely and accommodating to our large family. Highly recommend to families

Hotel Magnifico. Immerso nei boschi romani, questa struttura offre un relax totale. Fortunatamente accetta animali quindi il nostro cucciolo è stato con noi! Ottimo staff, ottima colazione. Consiglio vivamente. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

Local limpo, agradável. Conveniente para quem está chegando em Roma. No caso, viemos de montalcino e dormimos 1 noite antes de chegar em Roma. Muito perto do aeroporto e de Roma centro. Fácil de encontrar. Café da manhã com poucas opções. Mas, ainda assim, foi a melhor escolha, considerando o custo x benefício. Com estacionamento grátis. Quarto bom. Cama e banheiro ok. Recomendo.

Sad. After a horrific day we so looked forward to relaxing at the hotel. Young lady on reception demanded passports no hello or welcome. :( we felt very much like we weren't wanted there. The grounds are undoubtedly beautiful. Be warned walls paper thin. (could hear next door on the toilet! Talking etc). Shuttle is not free (as we were told). £60 local tax? Would have been nice to have been informed about that and shuttle bus charges on the first day rather then an £87 charge upon checkout. Holiday was booked for my partners birthday, and honestly I wish I'd never booked it. Our transfer didn't pick her up from the airport which was horrendous (though not the fault of the hotel). We did look forward to a warm welcome and perhaps an indication to restaurant or transport links. The young lady on reception was not helpful. She spoke mainly Italian which ofcourse we expected but not a smile or welcome. We felt very much like we shouldn't be there. The gentleman on reception was kind and helpful. Restaurant was beautiful. Some staff were hospitable, but some were not. *note. Party food (looked delicious) that evening I think for a wedding. We were suprised to see the leftovers being served to us tourists at breakfast in the morning..with flues roaming all over. Another couple also noted it and said they were careful with what they were eating. Some food was covered but this food was not. Also make sure you bring correct adapters our European adapters didn't fit the sockets (we thought a fault on out part so had no charge on out phones)... however after speaking to several guests they experienced the same. I booked this hotel over one in the city as it looked beautiful and a wonderful place to rest and recuperate. (Distance is 40 minutes to Rome please note). Whilst there is no denying that the location is beautiful, the service, rooms and treatment (especially those not local) were below standard. A beautiful location for a wedding maybe? A relaxing holiday next time we will stay in a b&b or hotel nearer the city, it didn't feel like a relaxing, romantic getaway. I hate to leave negative reviews and infact this is my first. I'm very easily pleased but I wish I had seen the more recent reviews of this place. Perhaps in peak season there is better treatment for guests? I hope so? I also hope that the hotel owner respects that some of the issues exist and addresses them to further improve the future of the hotel. We won't visit this particular hotel again sadly, but we did have the fortune of making a friend in Rome who was far more helpful then every person combined that we met on our trip. Good luck

Hotel is located in a secluded area, very quaint and beautiful landscape. Hotel room and bathroom was spacious, and beautifully revamped with a mediaval touch. They did not have a fridge, but had a safe and a closet space. Brakfast was good and not crowded. Service was great during the included breakfast, but service was terrible at the expensive dinner. We had dinner at the restaurant, the service was terrible. One of my friends ordered a plate of pasta, but he only mentionned to her that they were out of that type of pasta once dinner was served for the rest of our group. She then ordered another plate, and aksed him if there was any meat in that pasta, because she is a vegetarian. He said 'no carne'. When he brought her dish out, they had put bacon mixed into the gnocchis...She ordered another plate, but the server charged us for both plates, when he was in the wrong and we did not even touch the gnocchi plate which we returned. We can hear the server talking loud to the cook what had happened, when we returned the plate. The cook even came out of his kitchen to see who returned the plate. Also you can see the kitchen from the outside terrasse, the cook lit a cigarette inside the kitchen...
