Protur Roquetas Hotel & Spa

Couldn’t fault this hotel!! First of all we had a 6 hour delay, on arrival at the hotel, the reception staff were efficient at checking everyone in, the restaurant opened earlier to accommodate hungry and tired passengers and the bar offered drinks whilst we were waiting in the queue to check in. All the staff were friendly, courteous and worked very hard. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Staff are always cleaning! Pool area is great, lots of space and available sunbeds. The pool is a bit on the cold side - but fine once you are in- the lazy river is warmer. Loved the serve yourself set up around the pool bar- beer, sangria, hot drinks, sodas, fruit juices, water and ice creams. All Other drinks available from the bar. We had good experiences of the Asian and Italian restaurants. The main buffet was good too, never busy or crowded. The pool bar also did a buffet lunch and there are snacks available after lunch - breads, fruits, meats, cheeses and desserts. Beach is great - some days the sea was a bit rough. Lovely promenade to walk down or you can hire bikes. If you have preteen / teenagers there is a great shop - Ale Hop shop- about a 10 minutes walk if you turn left on the promenade Mini fridge in the room - was restocked daily with soft drinks and water - included. Spa, pharmacy and other shops across the road from the hotel. All in all a great family all inclusive hotel - no complaints here!!

Really nice hotel. Rooms clean, pool area clean. Entertainment good. Good location to beach. Only 2 points I have issue with. 1- door locks. Easy for toddlers to open door and walk out. Cant lock door from inside. No bolt or chain. 2- Being vegan, there was a very poor selection of foods. Simple foods that would be easy to be vegan but meat added to them. And sometimes it didn't even make sense. Green beens and prawns one night lol. Even as a vegetarian, it would be quite hard to eat well everyday.

Hotel spotless , staff amazing , food and drinks amazing , rooms spacious and comfortable, this was our fourth stay and cannot wait to go back. Special mention to Marina at the pool bar , always welcomes you with a smile and a hug and always remembers you . To Paco , Also at the pool bar , happy retirement my friend you will be missed.

I travelled with my husband and 8 month old baby. I paid £2,200 for a standard room, to stay in this hotel for 7 nights. This was my first holiday travelling as a family of 3 and I picked this hotel purposeful because of its great reviews, the presence of the children's splash pool and its star rating. I however was glad to return home after spending 7 days here and was bitterly disappointed with my stay. I would not return, nor would I recommend this to families travelling with a baby. Despite the temperatures being im excess of 30 degrees, the outdoor pools were absolutely freezing. All of the pools, except the lazy river were too cold to put our baby in. Even when using the lazy river we had to place him on a float because it was too cold to submerge him. This was very disappointing because he absolutely loves swimming and splashing. We therefore had to invest in a blow up paddling pool which we would fill using a bucket and the water from the outdoor shower just so he could enjoy the water. This hotel has an indoor pool which again is not heated and is only slightly warmer than the outdoor pools. To use the indoor pool you have to purchase a pool cap which costs €2.50. Had I have known it wasn't heated, I wouldn't have bothered. My son has been weaning since he was 4 months old and is on finger food at present. He has his tea at 17:00 and uses a bamboo penguin suction plate to eat his food from. At 17:00 the only place open to obtain food is the inside of the pool bar. Here they serve cakes, ice cream, fruit, bread, salad, cheese, ham and salami but nothing hot. This is not sufficient for me to feed my baby for his tea for 7 nights. The buffet restaurants however do offer nutritional options but does not open until 19:00. 19:00 is however my babies bedtime. After we had eaten our lunch, I used my babies penguin plate to gather some foods for his tea. Then at 17:00 I would go to the pool bar, warm the plate up using their microwave and feed him in the highchair the food I had gathered for him at lunch. On the second day of doing this I was stopped by the restaurant doorman who told me that I was unable to continue to take food out of the restaurant as it was a rule that no food or drink could leave the restaurant. I politely said that whilst I understood that this was a rule, I needed to feed my baby something nutritious and in keeping with his routine. Whilst the outside pool bar does serve hot food until 15:30 and the food could be taken away, this food was the same day in day out and unsuitable to feed my baby for 7 days. The conversation ended by me saying I would have to speak to the hotel manager because I needed to be able to continue to take food out of the restaurant at lunch time to feed my baby for his tea. I then went to speak to reception who told me that they would speak to the hotel manager and let me know what their response was. The same evening the hotel manager greeted me at the entrance to the buffet restaurant and said

We had an amazing time here would definitely recommend! The food was good, the pool and lazy river was good but they were a bit cold but when you got in they got warmer. The rooms were spotless and got cleaned everyday! We had a top floor room which was a suite. The jacuzzi was good to go in after the pool! There is some bars across the road and there is a mall/plaza down the road about 10 minutes in a taxi.

Fabulous...can't fault it...right from checking in the staff have been great, friendly, helpful, can't do enough...had a slight problem with the safe, sorted immediately 👍Hotel is first class, beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, immaculate, pool and spa spot on, gardens beautiful and lots of sun beds...the food has been superb, not the usual that is served up on an all inclusive...first class, perfect for families and couples ...definitely returning!!!! With this being our second stay at this hotel, we were expectant and excited to be well looked after for the week ahead. The staff certainly did not let us down. All staff in this hotel are incredibly friendly, especially those working in the bars and restaurants, who were attentive and helpful. It is evident that staff enjoy their work as most were the same staff who had been there since our previous stay in 2022! They are incredibly hard working and always did their best to ensure the guests were happy. There are two bars at this resort, one of which is conveniently located by the pool area and by the snack bar. In addition to this, there are also self-serve stations with fizzy drinks, water, juice and coffee. The menu for the bars can be accessed using a QR code which is a great idea (printed menus are available). On the menu, it is clearly detailed as to which drinks are included in the All Inclusive package – including named brands. The outdoor snack bar serves hot food during certain hours of the day as well as an indoor area where you can find ice cream, fruit and pastries. Outside, there is a well-stocked freezer full of ice lollies which guests can help themselves to during the day. The main restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. No matter which meal, there was something there for everyone, it was never a struggle to find a plate of delicious food. For dinner, there is a theme each night e.g. Spanish, Italian, Mexican, etc. It may be worth checking this before booking in the speciality restaurants (which we did not try during our stay). Again, staff were very attentive and, despite self-serve drink stations in the restaurant, were happy to serve drinks too. The public areas of this hotel are spotless. Cleaners can be seen working hard at all hours of the day. The only issue we noticed was the number of flies around the outdoor bar, which were contained only to the bar area. The room we stayed in was room 264. Located on floor 2 and accessible by the impressive glass lifts in reception, it is the smallest room on the floor and has a balcony overlooking the children’s play park – making for a very noisy balcony that continued well into the night. Despite this, we enjoyed using the balcony which had a view of the pool area and the sea. When booking, we paid for one twin room and one double, which was an extra fee. When we arrived, both rooms were in a double configuration. Although this room was smaller than the one we had previously stayed in, the size was perfectly fine and functionable. Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the rooms. There is a well-stocked minibar in the room which is restocked daily with soft drinks. The bathroom had plenty of shower gel and shampoo as well as bar and liquid hand soap. Rooms were cleaned once a day and sheets were changed at least once in the week. We chose this hotel for our first holiday as a family (travelling with our 3 year old) as we got a great deal from TUI. At first as I thought it was going to be too god to be true but we were pleasantly suprised by this hotel. On arrival we checked in and our room wasn't quite ready for us. Our wait was short and we was able to go and use the facilities and have a look around during this time. You are given the option to have your bags taken to the room by the bell boy. Our room was modern, spacious and clean. Equipped with a mini fridge, TV, aircon, and hairdryer you cant ask for much more. The maids were excellent and every time our room was cleaned to a high standard and bedding/towels changed. The food was better than expected from an all inclusive buffet with not just a large variety but also some really tasty stuff. We particularly enjoyed the fish, beef stew, steaks, Chinese style noodles and grilled vegetables. The kids pools are fab for little ones however our little boy preferred the splash pool. We stayed there all week and enjoyed it, very chilled down that end which was great for teaching our 3 year old to swim. We also enjoyed watching the aquazumba at this main pool. What was great about this hotel as there was a pool for everyone, if you was looking for something a bit more lively then the main pool would be perfect. The entertainment was fab with a choice of sitting in a quiet area watching live singers/ instruments, going to watch the kids show or sitting in the sports bar. Really cant fault this hotel and are so happy we chose it for our first holiday! I will definitely be recommending this hotel and am already looking to come back next year with family and friends.

Hotel is stunning and well kept but the quality of the food really lets it down in my opinion. There is so much good things to say about this hotel, the pools are great with lots of sun loungers and plenty of quiet areas of that what you want. Kids club and animation team were always great. The hotel itself and the decor is exquisite, a very nice place to relax. However, from the first evening meal I had, my stomach never properly adjusted to their style of cooking or the quality of the food. Honestly I would expect this type of food at a cheap 3 star hotel, I never saw any red meat, except on the Italian night they did a joint of roast beef but the whole thing was grey and burnt. All the cuts of meat used in the dishes were very cheap and unusual for what I've seen at similar hotels. Mutton chop, pork chop, lamb chop, rabbit, oxtail. Chinese night did have duck but again it was over done and mushy. The veg is always cooked en mass and is usually too soft and mushy. It's hard to find a good pairing for foods, For example, roast turkey but no potatoes, on other nights there would be 3 types.of potatoes but it was served with stie fried pork ? Always really strange combinations. I think this place could do with a culinary director who can put together a better spread of items that pair well. The Italian restaurant.did serve a veal steak, I thought that would be perfect but it was over cooked and very tough which is unusual for veal. (I asked for medium rare and it came out grey. Didn't bother to complain because by this point I was so used to this standard. And obviously I think the quality of meats needs to be upgraded a fair bit. This unfortunately lead to a few of our family going hungry on a couple of nights, we ate out in local restaurants for the lest 5 nights of our stay. Aside from the food situation, I really cannot fault this hotel, but obviously as an all inclusive package, food is a big part of the deal and for this reason I only rate this as a 3* Your hotel is wonderful and the staff work so hard. I just cannot wait to get home and eat some red meat and steamed veg. Thank you for a lovely stay, this was our second time visiting in 2 years and the food is very different to what it was a year ago. I don't think I will return here again.
