Hemingway House Bed and Breakfast

Great location, close to George st, clean room but very small. Breakfast area in different house, breakfast continental nothing special serve your own coffee. Love st Augustine and visit often. First time at this B&B and will not be returning.. and parking is off site a block away

The perfect location, a lovely welcome from the team and such comfy beds. We had a fabulous stay and will definitely stay again. The central location allowed us to easily visit the bars, restaurants and attractions and the rooms are tastefully decorated. Tea/coffee was also provided and the family said the breakfast was lovely.

Great place, great location with attention to service. Met the owner on site after a late arrival. Instructions were detailed and followed up with a personal call. Provided a great morning breakfast, exactly what we needed after our late night drive and to start our new day off strong! Walked easily to everything we wanted to see and do! We stayed in the Carriage house and it was quaint and very comfortable for my wife and daughter! We also were provided parking for our large truck although inconvenient for others (our fault for having the large truck) everyone was accommodating. Highly recommend and especially since it is locally owned and operated!

Location was excellent and bed was very comfortable. Staff was very friendly and great breakfast too. Free parking and walking distance to fort and shopping was a plus. Loved having the balcony to sit and relax. Our first experience with a bed and breakfast and were very happy with the experience.

This was a short get away trip just to do a little exploring in St. Augustine. The room was comfortable and very clean. If I would have one suggestion they need to do something to improve the internet connection. At night, while trying to watch a movie on my laptop, the connection would cause the movie to buffer. Breakfast was served by the plate and was fair. Eggs, sausage, melon, berries and a small croissant for me was enough but for someone with normal eating habits it may not have been a large enough portion. I am sure one could ask for more and waited for round two. I also found that starting breakfast at 9AM seemed a little late for those of us who wanted to eat and then go exploring. Our second day we chose to eat at a cafe that opened at 7AM and take in the fort that opened at 9AM. This B&B is located in the heart of the old city so you can walk to just about all of the attractions in the area. These were all minor details for our visit so I would highly recommend the Hemingway for your visit.

The Hemingway House was very nice. We especially enjoyed our 2nd floor balcony facing Charlotte Street. Our room with a king size bed was small so we hung out on the balcony when at the house. We had it to all to ourselves with comfy furniture. Although, the room was tight, it was nice & clean with a good size updated bath. The owner was very accommodating, he resolved an issue we had with street light coming into our room at night. He immediately put up drapery panels over the shutters & that solved the problem. He is very easy to work with & works hard to please you. The breakfasts were also very good & filling. We stayed 5 nights & contemplated staying an extra night but decided we would not, although it was very tempting. It is also a great location, in the heart of the old city & we walked just about everywhere we wanted to go.

We spent 3 days in St Augustine. Enjoying the historic downtown and beaches. Hemingway House was a great location, we walked everywhere downtown (drove to the beach). The beds and bedding were so comfortable- I’d like to know the brand 😊. Nice breakfast too. Highly recommend.

Very convenient location, walk to everything in the historic district. GM is very friendly and accommodating. We left a pair of $200 sunglasses and the GM actually dropped them off at UPS for us. Will be staying here again! Best location in the historic district!

I stayed here last fall as a birthday present to myself and it was an absolute xxxx-show. The A/C was controlled by the office, and I had no way to change anything. That ALONE would have been an absolute NO if I had this information from the start. The stairs to the next room were right next to my wall, and some dude stayed above me and literally POUNDED up and down these stairs at 1-3 am. The parking was under a bunch of trees and my car got all sorts of crap on it that really messed up the paint. Between my joints killing me from the A/C, getting no sleep from the zero noise control, and the pain job, this was a lesson I won't soon forget.
