Salida Inn & Monarch Suites

We stayed at this motel on 2 different occasions. It is a wonderful place to stay in wonderful Salida! Each time the rooms were very clean & comfortable. The rooms are large & well appointed. The front desk individual is very friendly & welcoming.

This is a great, clean, affordable place to stay. Red at the front desk is extremely helpful & kind. This is also very centrally located to downtown Salida & the highway. I’d highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. Make sure to say hi to Red!

After a week’s travel through New Mexico, including $350/nights in Santa Fe, we give Salida Inn our “best of the bunch” award. Big clean room, upbeat welcome, comfy beds, and a really efficient and quiet AC system! All for a fraction of the $ rate of other places we tried. Thank you Salida Inn.

Great spot, room was clean and large. Well appointed with coffee machine, fridge, microwave as well as breakfast. I would definitely go back or recommend. This is good location for anyone that wants to be close to Wolf Creek for morning skiing. 1.5 hrs to summitt

Motel was Clean, charming, accommodating staff. Great bath tub. Just be sure to bring earplugs as you will hear every footstep, tv, conversation, and car door once people start getting up in the morning.

We stayed here one night while passing through the area. Our room looked like it had not been thoroughly cleaned in a long time. Windows were dirty, cobwebs & dust in the corners and along the heater. I don't understand all the positive reviews on this website. The bed was comfortable but the place just wasn't clean. Also: (and I read about this happening here to someone else on a Google review board)... At 8:30 the next morning, I was in the shower and my husband was starting to load the car so our deadbolt was not locked from the inside. He looked up from the parking lot to see a man (presumably housekeeping) opening our door. I did not hear the guy announce himself, but, again, I was IN THE SHOWER. Luckily my husband was able to call him back before he entered the room. It was 8:30 in the morning. Checkout is at 10:00. When we left the room at 9:30 or so, the man was standing outside our door waiting for us to leave. Pretty disturbing. No, I would not stay here again. Keep driving. I gave it two stars because the front staff is very pleasant.

Salida has terrible lodging all around. This place is meh at best but compared to the other places in town it's the Taj Mahal. Front desk worker was polite and friendly. We left early and didn't get to try to breakfast. The room appeared to be remodeled to an extent but there were still some older vanities, mostly in the bathroom. I honestly never feel clean in a hotel but this one was acceptable. Price was absurd, ＞ $250/night. If I happen to be back in town and I couldn't find anything else I would stay here again.

JUNE 2023! We stayed here 5 nights in the cabin/cottage king deluxe. It was GREAT. Not our first time. Stayed here 3 yrs ago close to the cottage. Love it back there! The deck was great and we BBQ'd almost every morning and night. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Aspen, Will, Carol, and Angel were great! The inn is clean and well maintained and it's our go to place to stay when we come up to fish our hearts out. The pool area is clean. Hot tub area is nice also. I highly recommend staying here

I enjoyed my accommodations and will certainly stay there again. The hot tub and pool were great as well. The rooms were spacious and had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee . Also a great place if you have a dog. It is a dog friendly place.
