Just back from the hotel last week and absolutely loved it! I found the staff all really friendly. Our room was small but adequate with a view looking into the neighbouring hotel and could see red force from our balcony. A lot of people don’t rate the food here but we all really enjoyed it. My 10 year old couldn’t get enough of the churros. There were plenty of options for dinner and you could get fresh meat and paella etc cooked in front of you. We actually decided to stay at the hotel for dinner 6 out of 7 nights as we enjoyed it so much. The hotel is really clean. I always seeing the cleaners around cleaning the foyer and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard. The entertainment at the hotel was ok although I thought it was quite late for the kids as the mini disco wasn’t on till 9 and adult entertainment on at 10. The location of the hotel is excellent. 10 min walk to portaventura and a 5-10 walk to plenty of bars and restaurants. Also you can get the bus right outside the hotel to tarragona which is a beautiful place. Also my son loved the cat at the hotel. He seen it every day and it was so friendly. I will definitely go back to villa romana, sad to be home now.

Good points Hotel is in a good location and most staff are friendly. Entertainment team are great as are bar and restaurant staff. The room is a decent size as is the balcony. It could do with some drawers. The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The price we paid was good value. Our floor was actually very quiet and we always had a good nights sleep. Bad points Awful check in procedure, we had to queue 3 times for a total of an hour. Finally got into our room at 5.30pm. Rooms were way too warm and hotel refused to switch on air conditioning . Would we stay again? Yeah if we got the same deal and price.

Hotel was lovely overall room was lovely food was nice pool was great and the kids slides were so much fun for them. The entertainment team made our holiday so special I had my two kids with me and they were amazing with them so a big thank you to Sergio who went above and beyond for my kids to give them the best experience and also Rakel and Pepito and Toni. Wouldn’t have been the same without them all they were absolutely amazing !!! Will definitely be coming back to this hotel and also refering it to friends and family.

We had a great time. We love Sergio, Raquel and Pepito. Pepito is very shy hahahah just kidding. The animation was great, we love pool, the slides, the restaurant was nice, my son and daughter eat everyday chips, but they have a lot of options. The hotel is great located, close to the beach and PortaVentura. We'll come back for sure for the hotel, for the animation team, and we'll miss you a lot!! See you soon Pepito, Sergio and Rachel!!! We have been staying at this hotel for almost 8 years now. The pool area is beautiful and the location is ideal for us. The staff are fantastic, we always get such a lovely welcome whenever we arrive. We arrived at the hotel one week after they re-opened for the season and were very surprised to find out how busy they already were. I have never seen such queues for the restaurant in all my years. They have started a new policy of personally seating everyone before returning to assist the next people in the queue, this has definitely had an affect on the growing queue system. I think they either need to add more seating in the restaurant to deal with the volume of people or extend the breakfast and dinner times, which may reduce the queue issue. If it's this busy in My, I dread to think what it will be like in July! The food was just okay, definitely not worth the 30 minute wait to get into the restaurant, and then further queues for the grilling and omelette station when you get in there! They have stopped doing the fresh orange juice, the speciality (themed) section and the food truck which is disappointing (this might have something to do with it being low season). When I was there in October, there were quite a few things broken, tiles, bathroom doors etc which is expected after a busy season but I was surprised to see that these things were still not fixed while they were closed. There have been a lot of staff changes throughout they years, it's always sad to see some of your favourite staff leave but its great to meet the new staff too. We found out that a lot of last years animation team like Dani, Arian and Julio were moved to their sister hotel across the road so we did sneak over there a few times to say hi. The hotel itself is a great and it is fantastic value for money but it's just not what it used to be. It certainly has the potential to be the number 1 family hotel in Salou again but the rooms need to be upgraded, improve the layout of the restaurant and add more tables, they should bring back the themed nights in the restaurant, bring back the special treat stall outside the restaurant when you are leaving (popcorn/candyfloss, sweets, chocolate fountain etc). It's the little extras that can make a nice stay a fantastic one.

Great hotel for families. Very clean, close to the beach and Portaventura and the animation team are unbelievable, they are so good with the kids and make the holiday so much fun, big shout out to Sergio, Raquel and Pepito, we will 100% be back!

Hotel was clean. Room ok. Corridors very noisy with kids making noise and banging on doors. Food poor with long queue at every meal. No water or drinks available at meal time unless you buy them.Spa area very disappointing. Kids let run around. Sauna and steam room not working some days. Alot of guests not wearing swim hats even though we were told we had to wear them.

Check in was smooth, -€5 a day for the safe! Room was ok, dated but very clean and comfortable. Bed was hard but that’s down to personal taste. No Iron or Kettle in the room which makes me wonder how this is hotel is a 4 star. Pool, freezing cold ( time of year ), pool area clean, decent sun loungers. The usual towel reserving at 8am!! One day they removed a few but the other days left all day. Now here is why I have rated this 2!! The food is the worst I’ve ever experienced anywhere. It was bland, cold and not much choice. Then there were the queues!! See photo. So it didn’t matter what time you went for breakfast or dinner you were greeted by a queue that at times stretched to about 45 mins to get into the restaurant. Then when you were eventually seated, the queues for the stations were long and food was sp**** if you wanted anything hot and cooked in front of you. The managers were very rude when we tried to complain. Evening meal, first hotel I’ve ever experienced half board that they charge you for water!!! Would I return, not in a million years. My idea of a holiday is to relax, it stand and queue for ages to eat food that wasn’t fit for consumption
