H10 Salou Princess

Hotel is in a great location. 5 minutes walk to the shops, bars, restaurants and beach. 20 minute walk to Portaventura. Supermarket located next door. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom contained a bath with an overhead shower. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel provided. Hairdryer in bathroom. It would've been nice to have a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Stayed on the half board package which included breakfast and dinner. Both buffet style. Plenty of choice and the food was plentiful. Juices, tea and coffee come within your breakfast. The pool area was clean, plenty of sunbeds. Only the one pool so I imagine in the height of the summer it would get quite crowded. Entertainment each night although couldn't always get a seat in the bar area and sometimes was difficult to see the acts due to there being no stage. In the summer months I assume the entertainment is held outside where there is a large stage area. The pool bar was well stocked and lunch can be ordered between 12pm -4pm. Dining room can get very busy but didn't have to wait long for a table. Hotel reception staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a great hotel and I would definitely book to stay again.

This is not a hotel to stay at if you have any dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances. There is a list of symbols adjacent to the dining room entrance used to indicate which foods contain gluten, dairy, nuts, shellfish etc. However, if this system was once in use it has fallen completely by the wayside. SOME dishes were marked as containing gluten otherwise there was no marking at all and diners are left to guess what a dish contains. Indeed, many dishes were not even named. Many dishes were either of meat or obviously containing meat. In other cases it was unknown whether they contained animal by-products or not. As a vegetarian most dishes and desserts were therefore off-limits and inedible. Some dishes may well have been vegetarian but unless they are marked as such, who knows? When many people have dietary requirements of one type or another, for a large hotel chain like H10, this lack of labelling is inexcusable. Another Spanish hotel chain I recently stayed at had a comprehensive labelling system in use for every meal and a dedicated vegetarian section. Having stayed at H10 hotels before, the choice at dinner and breakfast was certainly less here than elsewhere. The salad items, for example, were the same each night. Food at breakfast was lukewarm at best although there were two microwaves to heat it up in. Food kept warm for lengthy periods has food safety implications. Rooms are in need of a refresh but cleaned daily. For several reasons, this is the poorest H10 hotel I’ve stayed at. On the positive side, the price of drinks in the hotel were comparable with nearby establishments with cocktails actually cheaper than a nearby bar. Most staff are friendly and helpful, particularly at reception. The sauna is free to use as is the gym but it is small and poorly equipped. There were plenty of sunbeds despite the daily 9.00am race with towels. Will I be staying again: no - and probably not at another H10 hotel either after this experience.

Just back yesterday from 4 nights here was lovely holiday, clean hotel, we just had breakfast included which was lovely lots to choose from, lovely supermarket next door with coffee shop, few mins walk to beach, prominade and lots of shops, bars restaurants. Lovely Irish pub across road live music and good food. If you go down by water to bars and restaurants definitely need a jacket or cardigan very cool at night with sea breeze so we stayed up by hotel for the rest of the nights. Would definitely go back. Only one fault very noisy in the morning with cleaners trolleys our room backed right beside somewhere cleaner seemed to be taking a big blue trolly for towels and sheets down a flight of stairs the noise was awful. if you get up at 7 or 8am your fine. We seemed to be facing side or back of hotel which next door was an apartment block and some guy in truck was hammering what sounded like a pipe 2 mornings. Walls seem to be so thin you can hear everything. Slept well each night with no noise just morning seemed to be a lot of noise early. Wouldn’t put me off too much though as everything else was great. There was a lovely roof top area for over 16s only. Lovely peaceful area with big jacuzzi. Pool side bar with drinks and snacks food like chips etc. Entertainment every night which we didn’t see.

Hotel is in a great situation, staff are very friendly hotel is very clean in the foyer and by the pool, the room we were in was quite clean until l run my finger across the headboard and in the bathroom there was a rail of which was very dusty and I took a video, which surprised me because of the way the rest of the hotel is. Beds are comfortable it you can sleep through the noise of other quests deciding to chat at 3am in the morning and beds are made up daily the shower was quite small (not for the bigger person) hairdryer supplied there are tea/coffee making facilities in the room along with 2 cups if you like a certain tea or coffee brand then take your own, view was great from the 4th floor, the jacuzzi area is great nice and peaceful only problem is sometimes some people spend too much time in there when other people want to use it and the only thing that's wrong with the hotel is the main pool it's freezing the hotel need to just take the edge off overall great hotel.

H10 Princess is in great location with plenty of bars resturant nearby. Staff were brilliant & helpfull in all areas. The people who complain that the food is cold, i wonder how they would cope when hotel has 200+ rooms and a window of 3/4 hours on service. Stay home you complainiers & let others enjoy. Room clean & serviced every day. Pity no kettle in the room though. PITY no British tv though, only Sky tv news. You would have thought that they would add BBC1, BBC2,ITV1 Channel 4 Channel 5 to keep the british visitors happy. The channels are through internet so it would be no problem to add on. Something the managment need to look into considering the amount of British visitors to the H10 Princess Hotel. All in all agood clean hotel & would not hesitate to book again.

From start to Finnish jet 2 have been brilliant , we travelled 4 adults of which mum is 78 and one teen. The hotel is very well appointed and is probably around 3.5 stars, but the staff and animation team are what makes this place special. Located on a main road , flat 3/4 minute walk to Salou beach , various bars and restaurants 3/4 minute walk Pool stayed closed until 9am so no towels on beds at 6 am etc Always beds around even if you missed the 9am dash Fairly limited half board fare but always well cooked and presented. Evening entertainment was excellent, above and beyond of a hotel this size Would I stay here again ? Definitely

this is my honest review.arrived 14 may, evening meals and breakfast room not ready till 1pm after arriving at 11pm ok no problem.being disabled we were told no walk in showers available.for 2 weeks struggled to get in bath for overhead shower.going for breakfast and evening meal i have been in better work canteens food was very poor and shortage of staff did not help they were over worked. cleanliness not good bedroom floor not cleaned and we actually wrote our initials in the dust but to no avail its not good would we go back there no.We have not mentioned the food i will leave that to other guest

Just back from 2 weeks in this hotel the good points first. Reception staff were very friendly and informative, the room was nice, clean and facing pool, had walk in shower as requested, with shampoo, shower gel and conditioner, entertainment was ok some nights not too our taste but others good, restaurant was clean, staff friendly and efficient food ok but if there for 2 weeks you get same things again second week. Special mention to Michael one of the waiters in entertainment area he was excellent friendly and efficient. Can’t comment on pool area as we didn’t use it. Now the bad points, in room only one spare plug point, as mentioned above food repetitive, now the worst point waiter behind bar when paying drink was slightly more expensive than same drinks at table, only corrected when queried and receipt requested receipt put on bar face down and when went to lift it was quickly snatched away then returned to till and printed new receipt and difference between bar and table service was laid on bar, then proceeded to be awkward with us for rest of holiday. So please check your change and ask for receipts.

Lovely hotel, staff were really good. Reception staff really helpful. Dining room staff very pleasant. The hotel has a very calm, relaxed atmosphere Food was really good, we had an allotted table cos my husband is in a wheelchair, so never had to search for a table. You can’t bring mobility scooters into the hotel but you have a locked area to put them on charge outside. I left his wheelchair in the luggage room. Bars were good, poolside food was also very nice. You access your room using a wrist band which was great cos you never had the frantic key search to go in or out. Our room was right by the lifts. We have to have an accessible room, bathroom was really roomy and was good for my husband could do with a drop down rail in the shower. The room was a tad too small to get around in a wheel chair, it was a tight squeeze along the bottom of the bed, we had to move the chair around all the time. It would have been better if he was at the other side of the bed, but his chair would be in the way for the wardrobe. Not really enough storage short of one or two drawers. I used the shelves in the wardrobe but some people wouldn’t be tall enough for that. The safe is huge and takes up too much hanging space The balcony was the sad part, it’s huge BUT it has no view, it’s on a back street looking at residential apartment blocks. It gets almost no sun, the sun hits a small portion after 5pm. We had a lovely holiday, I asked if any of the rooms were in a different location but was told no they are all on the same corner.
