Having been fortunate enough to have enjoyed a few previous visits to the Grosvenor for afternoon tea, there was one stand out difference this time...and that was the exceptional service and attention provided by Kimberly and her team. Whilst the afternoon tea was its usual high standard, Kimberly's attention to detail and personal interaction was outstanding and we were made to feel so special its made our day and weekend! Thank you to all the team and we'll see you soon.

Booking was somewhat painful as I tried to book online and it wouldn't confirm. Emailed hotel and never received a reply so rebooked. Location is adjaent to race course and just 5 minutes walk to everything Chester has to offer. Good parking facilities. Check in was very easy after 2pm. We had a room on 3rd floor which was very clean and warm. There was traffic noise from outside but that is to be expected. Tea/coffee making facilities in room. No iron but we had our own with us. Good breakfast in morning with something for everyone. We have stayed in other Holiday Inn in Chester and this is by far the best in terms of location, cleanliness and favric of the building

The stay was on my way to Manchester airport. The heater in my first room was not working, but they moved me to another room All was OK with the 2nd room, until I went to use the shower. The head was not working, in as much as it was like using a tap. But overall a great place to stay. I would recommend it, despite the 2 minor issues.

What a great place to visit Chester from. We got in early to guarantee a good on-site parking place, and were then met by the most pleasant receptionist. The room (a Smart Studio) was delightful, spacious, clean and modern. The bathroom was excellent and we were very pleased to see and use the walk-in shower. The bed was very comfortable, too. The excellent location meant that we walked into the city centre within 5 minutes, but we were far enough away not to be disturbed by late night revellers from the pubs and clubs. Although we were initially concerned at hearing the hourly bell chimes from the racecourse, we needn't have worried, they end at 11pm. The 'quick grab' breakfast suited us fine, not being great fans of the 'full english' breakfast anyway. With so many good eating places within easy reach there was no need to use the excellent cooking facilities. Overall, we couldn't recommend it highly enough. Just what we wanted and at a great price.

If on occasion you visit Wales and for some reason you go to Wrexham; One of the best hotels you can find is perhaps the Rossett Hall. The staff is wonderful, very friendly and always attentive to your needs. They have an attached restaurant that you will surely like. I 100% recommend that you make your reservation including the Breakfast service, because it is wonderful! As for its location, it is essential that you take a taxi from the central station and buses, because, although you can take a bus to get there, the journey is very long since the bus makes too many stops. Without a doubt, if you are a traveler who appreciates silence and tranquility, this hotel is undoubtedly for you!

We have had a lovely stay, and it would only take a few tweaks to make this hotel better. Good: *It's in the perfect location, we took an uber into the centre of Chester for less than £5. *Breakfast was relaxed with a great selection as a buffet service. *Spacious room with all the amenities you need. *Plenty of free parking. *Beautiful grounds and really quiet at night. *Great value for money Needs Improving: *Cleaning standard is average, black mold around the taps in the bathroom that could be easily resolved. *Bathroom floor was desperate for a good mop *Bed wasn't the comfiest as 2 twins fastened together leaving a gap in the middle. *Staffing levels affecting customer service levels, we decided to order room service, took an age to answer the phone and then said could be collected from reception, kind of goes against the point of room service, so we left it, not great for the hotels add on sales if that happens everytime. *No enough bar staff, we ordered food but it was cold and one meal was not what we ordered but too hungry to wait for it to be replaced, apparently fish finger sandwich is identical to fish and chips anyway according to the waitress! Like I said it won't take much for this hotel to raise it's customer service standards to an excellent level, more staff will fix most of the issues, despite everything mentioned we would probably stay again.

Really lovely surrounding of the old boating houses and Boat Museum Easy to get to and a 5 min drive to Cheshire Oaks and only 30mins to Liverpool Centre The hotel is clean and up to date with a proper leisure facility too. When we arrived at the Grosvenor palm court for our Sunday carvery they had messed up our timings on our booking so our table wasn’t ready for us. We had booked for 7pm however they had us down for 7:30pm and the women who greeted us(I think she was the manager) made us feel as though it was our fault, so we showed our email saying it was 7pm when she then eventually apologised. She said to sit on the sofas nearby whilst they tried to sort something out, and she said they would come and take a drinks order, however no one came to take our order and we were sat waiting. Eventually they found a table for us near the carvery which was fine, but a bit out of the atmosphere. When seated, no one came over to us to take a drinks order for a long time or to order any food. When our drinks order was taken and finally arrived, the waiter spilt a whole pint of beer over one of our guests, soaking the chair and his shirt. The waiter was very apologetic and thanked us for making a joke of the situation and promised to take the drinks off the bill. We then had to ask what to do about the roast, and whether to go and help ourselves etc. or to wait for a plate to come to us as no one explained this to us. The food was nice, perhaps the veg a bit cold but overall it was a lovely meal. During this time the service was shocking, no one asked us for anymore drinks, no one asked if we were happy with the meal, no one asked if we wanted the bill etc. when we went up to pay the bill there were no drinks taken off it. We questioned whether to raise this or not but we did. This was where we were told by our waiter that the manager didn’t “see the situation in the same light” and didn’t think it was worthy of any drinks being removed despite a drink being poured all over one of us. Then, when raised with the manager (we think) she was so rude, she came over saying how would they know to take any money off the bill, despite this being a different comment to previously. And she then said “what do you want removing” and “I don’t know what you want us to do” and “I’m not removing everything because only 1 of ten of you got a drink spilt on them!” This was so embarrassing as people around us listened in, and was extremely rude of a manager especially. Overall what they took off didn’t even cover the service charge which we later noticed they had the cheek to keep on the bill!
