Hostal del Cabo

We booked a room with sea view and it was great, the room was spacious and just as pictured. The place is easy to find using a GPS but beware of the very steep uphill streets. There are about 5 parking spots on-site but 3 of them are covered and the street is so narrow, the person from the hostel recommended parking in the street to avoid risk of being blocked and not able to move our car. The check-in was not done on the hostel but at another hotel relatively far from here. Apparently they tried to call us but having us not call them to give a heads up about a late arrival we wouldn't have found out until reaching the hostel.

The Hotel is rather run down. The rooms are old, the bathrooms smells horribly. The reception is always closed. You need to go to another Hotel (MC San José) for keys and any other issue you have. Balcony door can’t be locked - instead, you have a sign in the room that informs you that the hotel is not responsible for any losses. The worst part, however, was the broken toilet flush. It took them hours to repair and the women at the reception (of the other hotel) kept telling us that ”everything is perfect“. Really odd given that you can’t use your bathroom for hours.

This hostal is in a good location, with a view of the sea (over the roofs of the houses opposite, though!) The room was comfortable, great shower although it's hard to stop the water going all over the floor - actually, that's wrong, it's impossible to stop the water going all over the floor! The balcony is small, but big enough and it had a cactus on it, which was a nice touch. The room was spotlessly clean, and a very short walk down to the beach, either via the public steps or by the road. Either route is fairly steep, you need to have good legs! Street parking was easy, whether it would be as easy in peak season I wouldn't know. The town centre is maybe ten minutes' stroll, along the seafront - very pleasant and romantic (but we like San Jose a lot and go there quite often). We will definitely stay again.

Buena limpieza. Camas y almohadas muy cómodas. Preciosas vistas al mar con terraza. Calentador de agua y gel. La única pega es que hay que subir escaleras y no hay ascensor. Muy cerca de la playa.

Buen sitio para aloj****, ubicacion excelente, todo muy limpio, comodo y perfecto para pasar unos dias en San Jose

La habitación es amplia y la terraza con vistas viene muy bien al anochecer. La situación es buena y se puede aparcar cerca.

Estancia amplia, muy limpia, luminosa y confortable. Localización perfecta. Muy amables y profesionales en recepción.
