Hotel San Miniato

To be honest, a rather underwhelming experience. Rooms were okay - staff quite unfriendly and unhelpful. We were not allowed to bring our small backpack containing valuables into the breakfast room, on the grounds that it was a trip hazard. My view is that they did not want guests helping themselves to extra rations as many of the people staying are Camino walkers. The breakfast was good, but that was about all. We were for ladies travelling together and none of us particularly enjoyed this hotel.

Great hotel with unreal staff. My bags were lost by the airline and they called and coordinated with the Italian transfer company and followed up in Italian to ensure my bags made it before i started walking the Via Francigena. Great little bar area and great breakfast . San Miniato is a hidden gem in Tuscany. highly reccoment

I rate two stars because it is definitely not a four star hotel as it is as advertised. The rooms need refurbished, the hot water is barely lukewarm. It looks much better from the outside than the inside. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was pretty good.

My wife and I stayed here during our hike on the Via Francigena. The town is charming and the hotel lobby was very nice. The room was fairly large as was the bathroom. We had a problem with the toilet....it kept running and running. My problem with the hotel is how they handled the issue. It was clear that the broken toilet valve was a known issue. There was a sign taped to the wall that he been there for quite a while. When I called the front desk to report the issue, she said "yes, I know what the problem is. I'll come up and fix it." She beat on the valve or a few minutes and got it to stop. I asked what we're supposed to do when it happens again and her response was "keep a positive attitude and hope that it doesn't happen again." I'm a pretty positive person, but this seemed to be a poor solution. The manager then showed up and was very condescending and insulting. I felt badly for the front desk person (Ilaria?)....it seemed like she was at her wits end and was a bit frazzled . The way the manager handled it made a fairly minor inconvenience into a much bigger issue. I'll spare you the details, but the manager continued to be an a** for the rest of the interactions we had with him. Their hotel sign and their website says they are a 4-star hotel (Trip Advisor calls it a 3-star, which is more accurate). I could be a much better place if they had better management. The location was very good and the food was OK. Unfortunately there are not a lot of other hotel options in San Miniato. I'm sure your stay will be fine as long as you don't have any issues that require assistance from the hotel staff.

We visited this hotel as our first night before starting the Camino Via Francigena (short). The room was ok, the setting great and the dinner and breakfast were good. The hotel has great potential, but it needs snd upgrade and it needs to upgrade it’s service. We were the only people having breakfast and the staff member made a point of keeping an eye on us. So much so that It was uncomfortable and I was sure that they were checking up on people steeling food! Seriously, if this is a problem you are attracting the wrong patrons.

Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The jacuzzi was closed and we were told it would take 2 hours to prepare by one member of staff who was contradicted by another who said 24 hours (we were only staying 1 night!). Hotel was shabby and sometimes broken eg shower although staff claimed it was OK at first!

Buongiorno . Parto col dire che ho soggiornato in questo hotel con 6 persone compreso me. Ho analizzato nei minimi dettagli gli aspetti delle altre recensioni e non avevano tutti i torti. Inizio , dunque , ad analizzare gli aspetti negativi dell’hotel : il frigorifero dentro la camera non funzionava , dunque per raffreddare qualcosa, dovevo scendere e portarlo al bar di sotto accanto alla reception. Il climatizzatore vecchio ( me ne sono accorto subito) poiché non era dotato di telecomando . Abbiamo dovuto , inoltre, cambiare stanza dato il malfunzionamento del lavandino ( non scendeva l’acqua. Personale poco accogliente e scorbutico. Grazie tutti buonagiornata

L'hotel è in un'ottima posizione. In 5' a piedi sei in centro. Comodissimo il parcheggio privato. La camera era molto spaziosa. Ci sono però diverse pecche. Il letto era comodo, ma non come me lo aspetterei in un hotel a 4 stelle. Entrambi i cuscini erano troppo bassi ed il materasso un po' troppo morbido. L'aria condizionata è di difficile impostazione. La grande pecca era il bagno. Il sedile del wc era storto e presentava alcune macchie di ruggine. Lo sportello della doccia era rotta. La doccia presentava poi un problema nella parte superiore, da dove usciva l'acqua, che creava degli schizi che oltrepassavano le pareti della doccia stessa. Credo che questi problemi siano inammissibili per un 4 stelle. Per questo non posso assegnare una valutazione alta.

Chambre réservée sans doute pas la plus grande de l’hôtel mais très confortable et charmante. Salle de bain spacieuse et très bien équipée. Petit déjeuner banal mais très honorable. Bonne situation : un peu à l’écart mais à quelques minutes du vieux centre.
