Hotel San Miniato

I rate two stars because it is definitely not a four star hotel as it is as advertised. The rooms need refurbished, the hot water is barely lukewarm. It looks much better from the outside than the inside. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was pretty good.

My wife and I stayed here during our hike on the Via Francigena. The town is charming and the hotel lobby was very nice. The room was fairly large as was the bathroom. We had a problem with the toilet....it kept running and running. My problem with the hotel is how they handled the issue. It was clear that the broken toilet valve was a known issue. There was a sign taped to the wall that he been there for quite a while. When I called the front desk to report the issue, she said "yes, I know what the problem is. I'll come up and fix it." She beat on the valve or a few minutes and got it to stop. I asked what we're supposed to do when it happens again and her response was "keep a positive attitude and hope that it doesn't happen again." I'm a pretty positive person, but this seemed to be a poor solution. The manager then showed up and was very condescending and insulting. I felt badly for the front desk person (Ilaria?)....it seemed like she was at her wits end and was a bit frazzled . The way the manager handled it made a fairly minor inconvenience into a much bigger issue. I'll spare you the details, but the manager continued to be an a** for the rest of the interactions we had with him. Their hotel sign and their website says they are a 4-star hotel (Trip Advisor calls it a 3-star, which is more accurate). I could be a much better place if they had better management. The location was very good and the food was OK. Unfortunately there are not a lot of other hotel options in San Miniato. I'm sure your stay will be fine as long as you don't have any issues that require assistance from the hotel staff.

We visited this hotel as our first night before starting the Camino Via Francigena (short). The room was ok, the setting great and the dinner and breakfast were good. The hotel has great potential, but it needs snd upgrade and it needs to upgrade it’s service. We were the only people having breakfast and the staff member made a point of keeping an eye on us. So much so that It was uncomfortable and I was sure that they were checking up on people steeling food! Seriously, if this is a problem you are attracting the wrong patrons.

Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The jacuzzi was closed and we were told it would take 2 hours to prepare by one member of staff who was contradicted by another who said 24 hours (we were only staying 1 night!). Hotel was shabby and sometimes broken eg shower although staff claimed it was OK at first!

We originally selected this specific hotel because it was advertised as having a Spa and wellness center. We discovered upon arrival that the wellness center only opens in winter. The only spa facility was a very small spa on the mini patio to fit 3 people max and anyway was always busy. The facilities were not at all up to standard for a 4 star hotel: the Wi-Fi didn’t work most of the times, the toilet seat was broken, the room door wouldn’t close properly, parking not sufficient for all guests. We will definitely not be coming back.

Week end di Pasqua abbiamo preso una junior suite , che non era suite x niente . Il terzo letto era una brandina pieghevole costo 30€ a notte totale stanza a notte 170€ con colazione . In bagno non esiste un aspiratore , quando ti fai la doccia c’è la nebbia , la vasca ideo massaggio inutilizzabile , mancava il tappo di chiusura , abbiamo chiesto alla reception, che gentilmente ha provato ad aiutarci ma senza successo . La spa costa 50€ x 1h peccato non averla potuta fare , il primo giorno , impossibile perché dovevamo prenotare , abbiamo prenotato per il giorno dopo , ma niente l’addetta alla reception ci ha detto che non c’era il personale . In chiusura , pagato troppo per quello che abbiamo avuto , pubblicità ingannevole x la spa , noi avevamo prenotato questo Hotel proprio perchè c’era la spa . È’ stato Impossibile anche fare i massaggi elencati sul sito e nella mail di conferma prenotazione . Sconsiglio vivamente , ingannevole agli occhi del consumatore , anche perché non avendo usufruito dei servizi di cui uno principale , la spa non abbiamo avuto una decurtazione del prezzo , abbiamo pagato il pernottamento con prima colazione e brandina 170€ prezzo pieno .

Ho pernottato con mia moglie in questo hotel ed è stata una esperienza da dimenticare, a partire dalla temperatura proibitiva trovata in stanza al nostro arrivo; arredamento datato e fatiscente; pulizia che lasciava a desiderare… Hanno anche preteso il pagamento anticipato, anche dei servizi, e in 15 anni che per lavoro dormo in hotel in tutta Italia, non mi è mai successo. Solo dopo ho capito perché. Il massaggio di cui abbiamo usufruito, é stato una tortura, eseguito letteralmente al gelo da una signora lei per prima in estremo imbarazzo. Per la cifra spesa avremmo dovuto essere trattati come re e invece…. Salvo solo la colazione, completa e buona

Volevamo trascorrere un giorno in relax e invece.... Arriviamo presso la struttura alle 15 e ci fanno effettuare il pagamento anticipatamente, il che ci ha fatto riflettere. Saliamo nella suite che avevamo prenotato e rimaniamo subito colpiti dalla temperatura glaciale. Il climatizzatore presente in stanza spesso si spegneva e non era possibile a noi gestirlo ma abbiamo dovuto richiedere l'intervento della ragazza al desk per farlo ripartire. Purtroppo,considerando la temperatura di partenza, non abbiamo mai ottenuto una temperatura ottimale. In bagno il radiatore è spento. Chiamo giù e mi dicono che il riscaldamento centralizzato parte alle 17 e quindi non è possibile fare niente. Chiedo una stufetta elettrica da mettere per poter fare una doccia al caldo ma no, non ne hanno. Il radiatore in bagno purtroppo non partirà nemmeno dopo le 17. Sul letto e in bagno sono presenti capelli lunghi neri. La camera è fatiscente, mobili rovinati, rubinetteria ossidata, lavandino crepato ecc.... Ma il top lo raggiungiamo quando andiamo a fare un massaggio che avevamo prenotato. Nella sala non erano presenti più di 15 gradi. La signora si è scusata e ha cercato di coprirmi con più teli ma non sono riuscita minimamente a rilassarmi e appena sono rientrata in camera ho dovuto fare un bagno caldo per riprendermi. È stato un incubo. Unica nota positiva, la colazione e il piacevole tepore presente solo nella hall.

Ho soggiornato parecchie volte in questo hotel ma negli anni la struttura non si è mai rinnovata e ad oggi risulta parecchio trascurata. Porte e mobili logori, TV piccole e vecchie, nessuna presa accanto al letto, bagno non curato Non ho inoltre potuto usufruire del parcheggio perché pieno (anche quello della dependance) e, visto che la struttura è alle porte del centro storico, l'unico parcheggio libero l'ho trovato a quasi 1 km dall'hotel. La colazione è standard ma trovo assurdo che i tavoli non siano apparecchiati e sia tutto un fai da te. In ultimo la perla è stata ritrovarsi senza acqua alle 8,30 della mattina in quanto in paese stavano facendo lavori. Non è sicuramente colpa dell'hotel ma reputo sia un dovere informare preventivamente gli ospiti di questo disservizio. Peccato, ci sono davvero rimasto male. Avevo un bel ricordo di questo hotel ma tale rimarrà perché non credo ci tornerò.
