Colo Colo Hostel - Single Private Beds

After staying in the municipals, this was a nice change of pace to have the whole bed in privacy. No lights from others. My own light, own outlet, and room for my stuff. I never figured out how to use the noise canceling headphone or the iPad. I watched movies on my phone until I was ready to go to sleep. I did hear a snorer, but I had earplugs for that! Well worth the money.

Whaf I liked · The location, the service, the cleanest, organize comfortable bed and the commune room were perfect. And Disliked · The person/architect who did the conception was mainly oriented toward handicaps: elevator, high toilets (very unconvenient for normal people..because we don't sit on public toilet).and all that for how an handicap can slide himself in a 1 meter cage ???.. 2, the drawer under the bed should be able to use a lock.. so we don't have to run downstairs all the time for the locker 3. mix-sex showers and toilets + situated downstairs (the stairway to go are by the reception and Windows on the street, is also a wrong conception

Really excellent hostel, the accommodation is one large room with 20+ bed cabins. Each with a small drawer at the base for shoes and a coat. Downstairs in the basement there is a large kitchen area with free coffee, and seating and a large bank of extra large lockers with key pad security. The lockers had plenty of room for a rucksack and extra stuff. There was a large clean bathroom area with cubicle showers, toilets and sinks. The coffee was proper bean coffee and free milk is provided. The hostel is staffed till 6pm. Then the same 4 digit PIN code is used to access locker and dormitory and the main door. Location is excellent and staff were fab. Excellent hostel accommodation, I have no problem recommending this Hostel.

To start with the positives this hostel is located very centrally only 5 minutes from both the Old Town and the beach. The space is kept incredibly clean and there is a complimentary coffee machine for guests to use. The lady at the front desk was also incredibly accommodating helping me locate a shop to buy a towel. However the quality of sleep I got was terrible. The beds themselves are very comfortable with good bedding, however the noise and the concept of the room was not good. Each guest is given a pod like wooden bed with a drawer underneath and access to a locker downstairs. There is only one room at the hostel with all 24 beds in there. I felt that at around €70 a night making this a high end hostel there should not have been so many beds in one room. The constant noise throughout the night kept me awake as the drawers under the bed and the blinds used to draw over the pods made loud wooshing/ banging nosies. The noise travelled and was pretty consistent on both nights. Each pod is provided with noise proof headphones however mine were out of charge and there was no way to charge them. As a heads up the hostel does provide use of a towel for €5 however they had run out when I arrived at the hostel so I had to go and buy one. Overall a clean hostel in an excellent location, with a lovely lady on the front desk, however I would not stay again due to the noise that I felt went above the expected level at a hostel like this.

Absolutely stunning place! I hadn’t stayed in a hostel for 25 years and was a bit hesitant but it was such a delightful. CLEAN!! The staff, Christina was amazing and so helpful. Very central to everything, very smartly designed, with common areas downstairs and quiet sleeping areas upstairs with cozy Casita sleeping, complete with iPad, headphones and light. Very private as well. Can’t recommend enough! I hope to be back one day if we are ever in San Sebastián again! Cheers Lianne

Modern, quiet hostel right in the centre of town. New and fresh feeling, the sleeping pods are spacious and really well thought through. I was in a corner and couldn’t hear anyone either side or above me, which was surprising. The room is very well ventilated and they must pump air somehow into the pods as I had a small entry, which I promptly stuffed shut each night but the pod never got warm or felt stuffy. As a solo traveller, it felt secure to have the ability to sort of seal myself in, rather than a larger side entrance. There’s a clothes airer on the patio to dry towels etc
