Once again, we had the great pleasure of being guests of the Grillitsch family at Apparthotel Sonne in Obertauern. This time, we stayed in the apar**ent in the newly built part. As always, we were delighted with the very high standard and a**osphere. The ambiance is the result not only of Mr. and Ms. Grillitsch's efforts but also of their fellow workers' contributions. Our apar**ent was superbly finished and equipped. Nothing was missing. Everything was practical and functional (the window seat was great 😊). The sauna in the apar**ent and two bathrooms were extremely convenient. Delicious breakfasts, tasty afternoon snacks, and an evening with fondue were top-notch. The professional service was outstanding. Immediate support, response, and solutions were provided each time we needed something. A big thanks to the whole team, especially Goran. What about outside the apar**ent? A convenient garage and an equally comfortable and new ski room with new equipment. Everything was clean, tidy, and absolutely nothing to complain about. Apparthotel Sonne can only be described in superlatives. Ms. & Mr. Grillitsch, watch out, we will definitely return 😊

Had a good time in a very clean (by every standard) place. The room equipment was quality one, everything functioned well. The wellness depar**ent was also very good. Ski elevator were in a couple of hundred meters but on the way home one could slide almost till the entrance (on the other side of the road). The staff was professional, always ready to help you out in case. Nothing to be complained about.

It was our first time in Obertauern and as such our first stay in Apparthotel Sonne. It was a great stay. People were very friendly, the room was extremely clear, every day new towels, nothing was too much if we asked for something. A great recommendation for families that need a great place to stay. The private taxibus made it very easy to get to the lifts, citycentre, etc.

We stayed at apar**ent 202 and let me just say that this is an amazing place. The bedrooms are great, the bathrooms are high end, the kitchen is superb, the sauna fantastic and the service is stellar. Couple of things to mention: - Goran drops you off and picks you up wherever you want (between 9-17hrs), we never had to wait for more than 2 minutes. He carries skiing gear, gives you an up-to-date weather forecast and shares great tips for local food etc. Also really nice to the kids, so a very warm and welcoming host. And not to forget, Goran is the egg station chef in the morning, he made us all kinds of eggs (from poached to omelet and everything in between). - The wellness is amazing. Even though it closes at 8pm (if I am not mistaken), the staff allowed us to stay till 10pm (and we could have stayed longer if we wanted to). - Skigear room is tidy and cleaned every day. Boots nice and warm in the morning and everything only accessible with your hotel key for safety purposes. The same goes for the luggage area for early check-in or late check-out guests. - We asked if we could have a shower on our departure day after skiing and instead of having to consider this request, we were immediately allowed to stay in our apar**ent till 4pm that day, because the new guests would arrive late that day. Fresh towels were brought instantly and the staff basically accommodated with our every need. For example, one of our group forget his hat and scarf at a restaurant, only realizing this 2 days later. Once we asked the staff for help, they took care of this for us and the scarf and hat were returned to our room the same day. Goran picked it up at the restaurant for us. Similar experience with transportation arrangements to and from the airport, pre-booking of skipasses etc. Great overall service level, probably unprecedented for this region... Small things like ordering drinks at the bar to take to the room; "we will bring the drinks to your room, don't worry about it". These things make staying at Sonne amazing. - Special mention for Romana, who is lovely and goes the extra mile to take care of her guests. Made dinner reservations for us every evening, gave us great tips on where to go, speaks perfect English, German and we could even joke around a bit in Italian and other languages. What else is there to say... We are going back here 100%! If you book this hotel, feel free to ask for anything you want and the staff will try its best to make that happen. Of course they deserved a nice tip at the end of our stay and although it was very much appreciated, Romana was surprised and stated that she is just doing her job and that she was happy we enjoyed ourselves so much.

It was very pleasant holiday, hotel was very decorative. Schnitzel day a good idea, meat was delicious. You must try wellness - wonderful !! Goran took us to the ski lift by minibus every morning, and back, too in the afternoon, it was very comfortable.

Aparthotel Sonne was a fantastic choice of accommodation with its location being very close to a ski lift. The apar**ent was perfect, well equipped, cleans comfortable (we were a group of 5 people). The amenities were wonderful also with a stunning spa area with sauna, infrared, relaxation room etc. The staff were incredibly helpful and provided a lift to and from the ski lift, although close, to prevent having to walk in the ski boots with skis etc. Lastly the breakfast had an excellent variety of continental and cooked breakfast. We very much so looking forward to our next stay at Sonne and would highly recommend it to people looking to visit Obertauren. Susan

I have stayed here for a week with my family of 4 (my wife and me and two boys in their early teens) for a ski holiday. The services were really excellent. The owner is incrowd in the village and can arrange whatever wou want for you. We were quite far from the ski lifts, however there was a private van with driver at our disposal. The place was clean, and all the furniture and appliances were of good quality. A slight disappoin**ent for me were the floppy pillows, and the small stove with only two burners. The place was spacious enough. I did feel it was quite a lot of money, but that could be a matter of supply and demand, it was high season.

A friendly family run hotel with personalised service. We stayed in the duplex rooms with double volume south facing windows looking onto the mountains. There is a hotel mini van which does drop offs at and pick ups from the ski lifts, but the best is to go skiing with the owners early morning and be one of the first on the freshly prepared slopes.
