We stayed in Ptarmigan room this week and we were glad we chose this hotel. The hotel was selected by us as a convenient staying point for a family funeral sadly. However, we could not have chosen better and the kind service and lovely comfortable surroundings were indeed the “looking after” we had hoped for and did not disappoint. The room was plush and had every detail carefully provided, to include a lovely coffee machine with coffee pods as well as tea and kettle, bottled water, dressing gowns, jacuzzi bath, rainfall shower, Elemis toiletries, even a lovely teddy on the bed - just the ticket. We found the huge bed comfortable and room silent and dark at night, so we managed to sleep well. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, extremely tasty full Scottish. The owner was friendly and kind when he got chatting and discovered why we were there, the lady at breakfast was so cheerful and made us feel nice too, all staff were fantastic. Sadly, it is unlikely that we will be in the area again, but if we were we’d not hesitate to book again, and can recommend for a luxurious Scottish experience. Thank you for making a sad time more comfortable.

Wifey wanted to visit Glasgow, so used this hotel as a staging point. Inspired choice, We had two lovely dinner meals. First night standard menu. 2nd night ala carte, the set menu with the halibut. Wifey already wants to book again.. The room was lovely but had stairs, for mobility impaired the linked cottages are a better option.

My wife and I have just returned from a wonderful stay at this hotel. On arrival we were warmly greeted bybthe host who was attentive throughout our stay and couldn't have done done more to make us feel welcome. We stayed in the Grouse suite, which has a beautiful four poster bed and relaxing spa bath. The food throughout our stay was excellent, much higher standard than you would normally expect at a country house hotel and well worth the price. The surrounding area and scenery are beautiful and it felt like a romantic home from home. Couldn't recommend more highly, and can't wait to return

Definitely not 4 star! This place really oversells itself and as a result is really disappointing. We had a very poor welcome and no assistance with our luggage. Our room was clean, characterful and spacious but we had to use the kettle on the floor. The restaurant was jaded and had cheap unironed table linen. The food was advertised as fine dining but it was well of the mark. Not a place I’d return to or recommend.

The Blackaddie Hotel is like a home from home for us and this visit was not different. Always a warm welcome and the cottage was clean and comfortable. Paolo and the team are so helpful. We didn't eat here this time, but have done on previous visits and have never been disappointed. Thanks Paolo, Anna and all the staff, we'll see you in a week or two.

Pleasant country hotel in a nice setting. Clean comfortable bedrooms & friendly staff. Hotel is renowned for good food. Chose from the a la carte menu. Lovely choice. Food was tasty & well presented. Breakfast also of a high standard and delicious. Enjoyed our stay. Reason not 5* choice of wines available was a bit limited. Ta for a lovely stay.

Nice little hotel on edge of quiet village in lovely area for walking or fishing - approx 40 mins drive to Ayr - staff friendly - good cooked breakfast in dining room and ate dinner in bar/lounge area - strange dinner arrangement in seperate rooms depending how much you want to pay but breakfast all in same room - downstairs areas refurbished are nice - bedrooms bit dated and cleaning not the best - crumbs under bed and bathroom not as clean as could be plus tablecloths in the posh dining room not changed for 2 days ?

Went for birthday lunch. Food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. Cooked fresh to order. Very friendly. Hotel in lovely setting would definitely go back and recommend Dining room decorated very well. Can’t comment on rooms as didn’t stay
