It was amazing. The staff, service and room was amazing. The place is in the middle of nowhere so be aware that it will take time to go to any place if plan to eat or do excursions outside of the hotel

I’m very happy with my experience at Douro Palace Hotel. The hotel features a very nice spa where you can unwind and relax after a day of exploration. The facilities were clean, and the pool, sauna, and steam room offered a relaxing touch. The spa's ambiance contributed to a peaceful time. The restaurant's decor, inspired by Portuguese themes, complemented the overall atmosphere. The view of Douro River and vineyards from the balcony was breathtaking. If you're into comfort and relaxation with scenic natural views, this is the place to be.

Just concluded my stay at Douro Palace Hotel. The room offered a stunning nature view of the Douro River, hills, and vineyards. Evenings provided a spectacular display of stars. The rooms were comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast buffet was modest yet satisfying, featuring a mix of international options and delightful Portuguese pastries. Douro Valley's historic charm adds to the appeal. Recommended for those seeking a relaxing nature retreat.

This is a gem. One of the best places to find sone peace and serenity. Beautiful and quiet. Small place that you feel is empty..in a good way. Amazing view of the Douro Valley. Big props to Ferman in the bar, who made us feel at home and enlightened us on Port Wine and provided one of the best meat and cheese plates we have had. Nice breakfast too! Just be ready for some small, back roads to get there!

This hotel has some stunning views over the valley and is clean, with large rooms, and on that basis I would recommend it for a cheaper stay in the valley region. It’s also got a kitchen garden meaning the food (apart from breakfast) was fresh. I’d say it’s probably a three star, let down in a few areas: no gym ( seems strange given it’s a spa hotel and there’s not much to do here), the bar by the pool was closed so you couldn’t get water, drinks or food, very limited vegetarian options, barely any English spoken across the resort. One thing to bare in mind is that it’s very very tricky to get to - very steep, windy and narrow roads, so bare that in mind if driving.

We had a lovely room overlooking the river with beautiful terraced vineyard all around us. We saw river boats gliding past us below on the river. The driving terrain was full of winding roads and switchbacks over the hills. Glad I wasn't driving.
