We stayed at Pirate Village with our 5 year old daughter and we had a great holiday and she loved it there especially the pirates and that’s coming from more of a princess type girl. There was more positives that negatives and we would definitely think of coming back. We booked self catering and didn’t eat there preferring to head out for dinner so we can’t comment on the food. Positives Location – On arrival the outside of the building looks amazing and check in was quick. It’s only a couple of minutes to the beach and shops and restaurants in one direction and theres a big supermarket up the road in the other direction and a massive shop selling all sorts from beach stuff to homewares across the street. Lots of decent restaurant within walking distance and we found a few small playgrounds nearby and found a short cut to the main ***** for a change from the Village, Bar code is a bar there that has a kids area out the back with bouncy castle, jumping trampolines and a supervised inside area for kids, so handy for the kids to be occupied while you sit and have a drink. Pools – theres pools for all ages and lots of lifeguards on duty and the mini waterpark was great for a bit of variety. It opened from 10 until 6. Entertainment staff, the pirates and the shows were amazing and the pirates really stay in character and the kids loved them but some of the very small kids were really scared. The pirate attack on a Sunday is brilliant and the entertainment staff do lots of fun stuff during the day in and around the pool with the kids, probably more suited to a slightly older child than ours though. Kids club – It felt really secure, with the door always locked and a buzzer to get in and out and sign in sheets and lots of activities and includes a free lunch. Apartment – all apartments were pool facing and didn’t seem as dated as some of the reviews, it was cleaned daily and had a huge comfortable bed as well as a pull out bed in the living area. Handwash, shower gel, washing up liquid and toilet paper were all provided. You need to put a deposit down for the remote for the telly but you get it back and departure. Its basic but then how much time are you really spending in it. Negatives We were self catering and the kitchen area was fairly limited space wise, not even an area to drain ware and no plug for the main sink to washup and a tea towel would be handy. There was literally one pot for cooking, which everything stuck to, a frying pan or extra saucepan would be great. Also a sweeping brush was provided but no pan to gather up the dirt especially sand after a day at the beach so it was pointless. Sunbed wars The sunbed situation was crazy, I’ve never seen anything like it, they were locked up at night and then unlocked around 9 in the morning. People put towels down on the artificial grass around the pool at all hours of the morning to “reserve” their space and then it was like panic stations at 9 with people waiting around the p
