Hotel Livia

Our guided tour of Butrint included a meal at the Livia. We were advised to pre-order our food to assist the restaurant, due to the number of people entering at the same time. My husband ordered the fish, my son and myself ordered the chicken. Bread baskets, plates of salad, tzatziki and feta cheese were placed on the tables to share. These seemed fresh and tasted good, although we did have to fight off the flies who were circling constantly during our meal. The main meals were less pleasant. The chicken was very tough and almost rubbery. The fish (the type of which was no specified) was pleasant tasting, but it was quite difficult to eat due to the vast numbers of bones inside - the fish was served in full, with no filleting. Both options were served with stone-cold carrots, potatoes and some sort of slimy cucumber which was not appealing. The waiters were working hard, especially given the number of people they had to feed, but they did not offer up menus for people to select drinks. When another guest on our table requested information on the price of a beer, the waiter blanked them and simply returned with a beer - which then needed paying for. Not ideal. There were also a number of cats and dogs running about the restaurant. They seemed friendly but they continually pestered guests who were trying to eat, begging for food. One of the dogs was particularly smelly; a member of staff said that the dog loved to jump in the lake and that was why. It is very well positioned if you are visiting Butrint, being walking distance from the entrance of the archaeological site, but it wouldn't be my first choice and I would suggest that it is worth travelling a little further when looking for a meal.

Popped into the Hotel Livia for lunch after visiting Butrint Roman City before getting the bus back to Sarandë. Had moussaka and Livia dessert with wine and coffee. Really delicious food, great service all at a good price! Highly recommend.

We had a dinner at Livia twice during our holidays and we really enjoyed them. The staff and owner are very friendly and they have a lovely dog if you are lucky enough to meet him. Restaurant is tidy and clean in a lovely environment and very close to Ksamil. Is also worthy visiting Butrint Archaeological Park which is right next to the hotel. Definitely recommended!!

This hotel is the most convenient for Butrint Archaeological site. However it is sad and rundown. Maybe when it was refurbished over 10 years ago, it was ok, but on arrival, we wanted a shower. The bathroom was tiny. The shower tray has no curtain or glass sides - I. Fact, when you sit on the loo, your feet are in the shower tray! As soon as the shower was turned on, the shower hose attachment shot off, and water sprayed everywhere. We reported this to management, and a very nice young man who spoke English came to see the problem. He claimed to have fixed it after much thumping and banging, but what was really needed was a replacement hose. The next morning, the shower hose shot off again. When we mopped up the water using towels, it became apparent how filthy the floor was. This place is so run down and tatty, poorly managed (think Fawlty Towers). Food poor. Avoid!

Excellent hotel, amazing food and very helpful customer service. We stayed in the suite with balcony which I highly recommend if you can get it because it was very pretty, comfortable and clean with great views. The breakfast was great (we tried the eggs, omelette and toastie all of which I recommend) dinner was also very tasty with lots of options.

The restaurant is serving tasteful dishes but not smth out of a Masterchef test the plates and food was well decorated and colorful aswell, I didnt have any negative experiences thankfully as many claimed which made me worried about my arrival there, The rooms are pretty clean for the star scale of the hotel, Some staff were pretty friendly but some of them were kinda idk zoomed out? I also experienced a warm goodbye by some of the staff at the end which made write this review aswell. Ciao Sqiperia!

The food was gud, The service was okay I didn't have any problems in general, friendly staff the rooms had the basics not smth to savvy, the place is fully covered by nature which was very good because it was a warm 33°C out in the sun but 70%of the restaurant/hotel etc was covered by ther platanus leafes

Where do I even start? Fabulous location in Butrint National park, spacious and comfortable family room, delicious dinner at the restaurant, Alex’s outstanding hospitality…. We are a family with three kids under 12 who decided to make an impromptu trip to Albania while holidaying in Corfu. We booked a room over the phone - Alex was most informative and helpful at all times. We got stuck on the border, not able to take our rental car over - we phoned Alex at the hotel and he very kindly drove down, even though it was getting rather late, and gave us a lift back to the hotel. We had an amazing welcome and absolute five star hospitality by Alex and all other staff at hotel Livia. It’s a gorgeous building in beautiful grounds. We stayed in a large very comfortable family room. We also very much enjoyed our dinners and breakfasts at downstairs restaurant where Alex was at hand most of the time with advice and suggestions of what to do in the area. He also helped us with the car rental during our stay. All in all - it was a short but unforgettable stay at hotel Livia and we can’t wait to go back!

Notre arrivée à l'hôtel se fait de façon plutôt sympathique. Nous partons deux heures visiter le parc de butrint et nous rendons compte à notre retour que nous nous SOMMES FAIT VOLER DANS NOTRE CHAMBRE FERMÉE À CLEFS 200€ (qui était dans mon sac). Avertissons un employé (chauve) qui nous dit de ne pas prévenir la police et qu'il va contacter son chef, il regardera avec lui les caméras. Semble saoulé lorsque nous lui demandons de repéter car n'avons pas un excellent niveau anglais mixé à l'albanais. Aucune empathie, ou bienveillance de sa part. Nous soupçonne davantage d'avoir oublié de fermer à clefs ou d'avoir perdu cet argent. Comme nous nous y attendions, 2h plus tard nous le revoyons, et nous dit que nous pouvons prévenir la police, mais que cela ne changera rien, qu'il n'y a rien sur les caméras. En plus de cela désormais nous devons payer immédiatement la nuitée de la chambre. A savoir que les caméras ne sont absolument pas présentes sur la visibilité des chambres, entrées par de multiples possibilités sans passer devant les 2 caméras de l'accueil. Pas d'excuses de qui que ce soit. - La chambre quant à elle dispose d'une minuscule salle de bain, avec une toute petite douche qui inonde celle ci. - La terrasse de la chambre où on ne peut s'y installer donne sur une pseudo forêt mais sans visibilité. - Toiles d'araignée et araignée présentes, tâches de rouille ou je ne sais quoi sur les miroirs. - Vieux frigo débranché, sale posé sur une chaise devant le lit. - Les fameux "chaussons" sont de vieilles claquettes en plastique. M'Enfin, pour ceux qui souhaite visiter le parc archéologique autant aller sur ksamil (5min en voiture) que de passer la nuit dans cet hôtel. D'autant plus qu'il n'y a rien d'autre à faire autour de celui-ci sans prendre la voiture.
