Olympia Hotel

Very nice hotel, status at rom 502 . Nice room , but a little outdated . Or else nice staff . Breakfast was nice , but not much variation . But you find the most you need . I really liked the hotel , but the down side is location . It is not far from city Senter , but it is a very steep way upwards many stairs and steep walk upwards . So if you have mobility problems , maybe is not for you

Disappointing hotel. One of the beds were horrible, parts of the wooden bedframe were falling apart during the night. And the matress was just springs. It was uncomfortable and I was not able to sleep well the first night. I asked the staff for help, and they helped with the problem. The toilet was almost broken, one had to try 5-6 times before it flushed. The shower was horrible, no water pressure, and you had two choices, either scolding hot or icecold. The breakfast was okey, nothing but fuel, I did not think it was tasty. It was just fuel for the body. The pool seemed a bit dirty, so I did not enter it. The positive: it was clean, we had a balcony, the staff was nice and helpful

My recent stay at Hotel Olympia in Saranda, Albania, was an absolute nigh**are. My two friends and I were embarking on a Balkan tour and decided to spend two nights at this establishment. Little did we know that this decision would lead to a series of inconceivable mishaps that marred our stay in Saranda. Two hours before the scheduled check-in time, we received a call from the hotel, informing us that our reservation had been inexplicably canceled. They claimed that they had neglected to remove the room from the booking website and were now obligated to offer it to other customers. This left the three of us utterly stranded without a place to stay. After an initial refusal to help us and a long argument to explain our reasons, in an attempt to remedy the situation, the hotel arranged for us to spend the first night at another location, which turned out to be an under-construction hotel in the suburbs. This shoddy alternative was not only exorbitantly priced but also a terrible place to spend the night. For the second night, we were begrudgingly accommodated at Hotel Olympia. However, the room we were assigned was beyond disappointing. It was cramped, unattractive, and lacked even the most basic amenities. To add insult to injury, the room had no Wi-Fi, and the water for the shower was ice-cold (attached are photos as proof). The breakfast offered was meager, and the staff's lack of enthusiasm was palpable. Their unhelpfulness and indifferent attitude further exacerbated our dismay. It was abundantly clear that the hotel's management had no regard for their guests' comfort or satisfaction.

Hotel very, very clean. Pool clean and great for families and in general to sit around.Rooms spacious , light, with air conditioning . Owner and staff friendly. Has wood pizza oven. Menu limited and pizza best bet. Downside of hotel, breakfast not very interesting and limited so for14 days it became dull.Breakfast coffee awful. Coffee at bar good. For us however we had problems getting into town for the evening. Hotel very high up on very steep hill.OK if young and an athlete. 500 Lek should usually be price, however the taxi drivers rob you. If hotel calls one you pay 1000 lek with one receptionist another tried to tell us 1500 lek, which we refused to pay. Coming back on the taxi rank they quote anything from 2500 lek. We just kept going up the rank until we found a ride for 1000 lek. So at a minimum we were paying £20 a night return. This is absolute robbery for a seven minute trip. Drivers on the whole not very helpful. Santana not a place for disabled or those with mobility issues. Most streets except promenade one cannot walk along as they are broken up and have cars parked on them. Some good restaurants along the front on promenade.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Pros: Swimming pool was great for the kids, the view from the room of the sea & Saranda is amazing, staff were friendly enough, rooms were cleaned daily. Cons: drinks are expensive & you are not allowed to drink your own drinks from the supermarket in the hotel communal areas. Breakfast is poor, we didn’t usually end up eating the breakfast the only options are eggs, hard bread, cucumber, tomatoes or watermelon, coffee is disgusting. The pool areas are slippery and no wet floor signs to be seen, many people slipped down the stairs due to them being mopped by the cleaner. The rooms are nothing special, the first room we had was covered with ants and did not have a balcony or outside area to sit. The bathroom in all 3 rooms we were in was smelly and would get flooded. The outside bar shuts at 10pm at night so would suggest venturing out to the promenade and beach area to eat etc. The hotel isn’t up-to scratch to be labelled as a 3 star Albania and Saranda are beautiful but we would not return to this hotel

Staff at reception was great! Such a shame to pay 6% extra on card payment or 10 euros extras due the currency exchange by cash plus the taxes on the a** (normally 3 to 8%) . Room was exactly as the picture, nice, clean. Short Breakfast 8.30 to 10am and they stop to refill food from 9.30. A bad situation happened as one of the bar staff named Ronaldo consistently offered me *******, and one of the time drinking at the pool bar he even showed me a bag of it and didn’t gimme back couple of changes from the drinks I bought. Felt a bit unsafe as he kept doing it in front of everyone. In fairness the rest of staff were great and very kind !
