Plaza Motor Motel

One of the best stays I have had. Good location. Very clean and fresh linens daily (which is rare now.) We had a king room and it had everything we needed. The hair dryer worked. The tub was non-slip and the water was hot enough. I like having the sink outside of the toilet area. The chairs in the room were comfortable and the room was well-lit. Check-in and out was easy. The desk was useful. We did not use the microwave or refrigerator, although I noted the refrigerator was nicer than most. The wi-fi worked well. I loved sitting in the gazebo in the lounge chairs in the evening in the light rain. I did not get wet. The price was very, very reasonable. The flowers were lovely. You can tell this place is well-loved. A real find, although you should be aware it is an older place and that the room doors open to the outside.

What a great place. Clean, quiet and reasonable. Our first time in a drive up to your door “motel”. It exceeded our expectations. It had a mini-fridge and microwave as well a separate vanity and sink away from the shower and toilet. The grounds were nice as well.

We started out trip by staying here. It is a nice hotel. What it lacks in amenities, it makes up with in charm. This is a nice clean place. We enjoyed sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon. Room was nicely decorated and comfortable.

This was not the place our family originally intended to stay, but when we I called six months in advance, the hotel was already booked and referred me to this hotel. Looking for something budget friendly, I called and booked the rooms, but didn’t expect much. Frankly, I expected it to be a bit dumpy. Instead, the rooms were comfortable (including the beds and pillows) and stylish. We had fun looking at how each room was decorated uniquely. I also thought that some of the amenities were just a step above (goats milk soap for my bath!). They also had a lovely little garden area attached that made this a charming stop. Only negatives were that they don’t have the front desk staffed very many hours so I wasn’t sure where to put my key in the morning, and I couldn’t find out what the WiFi password was. Minor inconveniences, but these could have been explained ahead of time to eliminate confusion.

The room is small, yet so well appointed it is very welcoming and relaxing. The staff is beyond friendly. I am a shower connoisseur, I love a long relaxing pulsating shower. I believe I have found the best shower. Multiple settings with great pressure. If you want to spend more money for more space you will not use it please go somewhere else so I can spend so little for a great night's sleep.

The Plaza Motor Motel is truly a hidden gem. We stayed two nights in late September, and it was a nice start to our UP vacation. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good, which are the most important things to us. But the rest of the room was equally nice, and there wasn't any noise issues. The only quibble was that there was just the lock on the doorknob, no additional bar lock or anything. But it was a great stay, I just wish the weather had been better so we could have enjoyed the garden more!
