Xiaozhu Homestay (Shaanxi South Road)

This homestay looks exactly like in the photo and I mean it. It has everything mentioned (washing machine, fridge, microwave, kettle, 4 slippers, 6 towels, toothbrush, toothpaste, hot water shower, bath wash and shampoo. There is also a dehumidifier. The aircon is only for the first floor and it is very cool. For the second floor, there is a bed with no aircon, but there is standing rotating fan which is sufficient for two ppl to sleep at night. The location is easy to find and it is inside a quiet 'nong tang'. Before you go there (2 days before), you MUST WeChat msg them to ask for the specific address and ways to get there. Their WeChat ID is basically the phone number provided (just search the phone number on WeChat; without '+86' and send friend request to 'Ryan'). Their location is very near a hospital (at first, your taxi driver may drop you off at the hospital, which is okay too. It is walkable distance to the homestay.) Very easy check-in procedure with digital passcode door lock. The place is very clean and white. There is limited space to walk around though, but we are fine with it (4 adults) as the price is already reasonable. They provide 'cloth hangers' for you to hang your clothes after you wash your clothes. They provide dish wash liquid, tissue and some basic kitchen utensils like 4 plates, 4 cups, spoon, chopsticks, knifes, scissors. Do bring your own laundry detergent/powder (they did provide but just in case it ran out). The place is near two hospitals and there are quite a lot of eateries nearby. Tips: We recommend you to set the 'main entrance' as your 'home' on the Alipay Didi so that your Didi will drop you off right at the main entrance.

Brought my 5 person family to stay here in Shanghai and it is seriously THE BEST CHOICE if you’re bringing a group of people !! Location is pristine, its near everywhere and theres a lawson on the entrance gate. The service is also best and i guess it is best if u have a wechat account as they are going to guide u there, they guided me in Chinese and idk if they’re able to speak english. But overalll 4.5/5 🎀🤍

I stayed 10 days in this apartment. I was overall disappointed. +: Location / reactivity of the managers / view from the window / japanese style -: The location is actually 1km away from the address on the posting, that's disappointing and not very honest. I realized that after booking, and only because I asked / the apartment is quite small and not very well organized, with a lot of the space for 2 beds and not much space left for the rest. / the apartment was dirty, with hair in the bed and on the floor and stains on the sofa and bed. The managers asked for a "deep cleaning" when i sent them the photos of the hair, but after it there was still hair in several places. Note that despite the fact that I was staying 10 days, the managers had not planned for a cleaning initially. / the A/C doesn`t work very well, I was quite cold the first days when the outside temperature was low. There is an extra heater but it didn`t change much. / the apartment lacked basic things (no chopstick or cutlery, no sponge to clean dishes, the toilet brush is just laid on the floor) - the managers bought things when I asked them, but it`s weird to have to ask for such basic things (they said that sponges are hard to desinfect...) / wifi is slow - it`s coming from the apartment next door / the lock actually broke when I was leaving - overall the apartment is not very well maintained

Location is not the same as it's advertised on Trip, about 800m away, good thing the street is quiet, bad thing it's not very convenient as there are not many stores or food stalls around. We unfortunately came when the building was under construction, so noises everywhere from 7 am, it seemed to be done by Sep 2024. The apartment is a bit small but with the price I think it's not too bad. Apart from that, the staff are quite helpful.

This is a great little self contained flat in one of the local lanes. The lane might seem a little run down for a first time visitor, but its as friendly and safe as all other typical lanes in Shanghai. The flat is compact but with all you need. We made use of the washing machine and the little kitchen. The Ac is working perfectly! A great coffe place right outside, pharmacy mini market and just a few hops away from some really cute bars

Great cozy little place, with an amazing location right in the middle of the french concession.
