Khimtsang Hotel

They went above and beyond to make sure we arrived safely at the hotel. On arrival we were greeted warmly, with a tibetan scarf and our luggage was carried to our room for us. The staff were consistently friendly and often checked that we were comfortable. The room itself was spacious with a large bed and TV. It also felt very clean. The only detractors from the room were the odd light switch placement, a less than ideal amount of room for the toilet (when sitting it was more comfortable to leave the door open), and a showerhead which was not well attached to the wall (this was rectified quickly after we told the staff). Overall these minor problems did not take away from the overall very pleasant experience we had here. There was also a cute dog, mantou, who guarded the entrance all day (asleep).

Hotel Khimtsang mixes traditional and modern designs in a minimalist style. The room has floor heatings, bed is firm and comfortable with warm fluffy duvets, shower is hot and strong with heating lights for the cold weather. But what truly makes this hotel special is the people. The hotel owners and staff all go out of their way to make guests feel comfortable. They have been extremely hospitable and kind to me as a solo traveller. I felt very welcomed at Hotel Khimstang as they took extra care to ensure I was well adjusted. This will definitely be my hotel of choice if I came back to Shangri-La again.

The guesthouse owners were very nice, sharing good trip info and their entrepreneurship story as well as treating me couples of good tea and homemade pastries. Walk in the this guesthouse, you will see the stylish tibetan interior design from each corner of this house and then experience how owners hope their guests to feel comfortable as same as staying at their homes. The room is absolutely clean with comfortable mattress and good facilities. Will definitely come back again. :)

We stayed here for 2 nights, and were immensely blessed by the innkeepers' hospitality and friendliness. they were incredibly helpful in planning our itineraries and offering valuable advice too. as for the room, it was huge, shower was superb and very spacious! we highly recommend anyone visiting shangri-la to stay here! 2 thumbs up!!

The design of this hotel is fantastic and very photo worthy. Rooms are warm and spacious, we were incredibly warm despite the cold winter nights we had when we were there. Readily available hot water and good shower water pressures. The hotel owners were lovely and welcoming, as well as their dog mantou! The location of this hotel is not within the ancient town but a mere 10 minute walk, we did not have any issues as had transport available. Breakfast was simple but sufficient - they had fresh ground coffee which was fantastic.

Beautiful, clean, friendly people, and the best Manto 🐶 ! So I’ve never left reviews in the past, but felt I really have to say something about this place. Me and my partner have travelled a lot, but we have never lived anywhere as nice as Qincang. The owners were SO nice and friendly, they really treated us like their very own friends. Talked a lot about Mantos stories and their own experiences. They invited us for tea, and were so helpful to my partner even after we had checked out! I really missed you guys and the time staying there, hope you are all well and Manto now doesn’t go out fighting other dogs as much! 😂 Love from Ben & Jessie in London

OMG this place is simply amazing!!!!! We have lived in China for 3.5 years and never stayed in such a hospitable and friendly place. Sue went above and beyond to make our stay phenomenal. She took us to a coffee shop, helped us to get dressed up and did our photoshoot, invited us to dinner with her family and then gave us a private tour of their amazing art exhibition. To say this family are incredible is an understatement! We were beyond honoured to stay here. Thank you so so much.
