Umbi Sharks Bay Diving Village

I want with my family to the beach I payed 2 tickets adults 150 pound for each they have amazing corals my son loved them and the beach is quit but little bit small and they have good food and good prices but the diving was very expensive for one dive

Amazing staff and great snorkeling and diving in the bay - or several day trips and liveaboard options. Very friendly and helpful staff. Authentic and artistic vibes. I have visited several times and keep coming back

Found Umbi Sharks Bay Diving Village through our live aboard. Bedoin owned and very cozy, directly on the water and affordable. Great breakfast plan and staff that were positive, helpful and available. We stayed in the beachfront (closest to water rooms) which are low key "summer camp" like rooms with AC, but the Bedouin Rooms look a little more "upscale". Multinational presence made the company interesting. We didn't get to stay long enough to dive at the village, but there is a recognized dive site on location and a full service dive facility with showers and restrooms available. They offer short liveaboard experience (4-5 days) as well as daily trips to local and less local sites (Tiran, Ras Mohammed, Thistlegorm and Dunraven). The bar was a nice "Arabian style" floor sitting experience with Shishas available and access to the full menu of the restaurant which was pleasant. Don't come if you need booze, but the Egyptian wine (red and white) and beer are cool and ready to go with snacks or meals. There is a small shop for drinks and snacks (7-11 Egyptian style) on premise as well as several other little shops for tourist items or swim wear. Really appreciated the kind service and information from the dive shop manager and hotel front desk who arranged a driver to Old Market downtown for shopping and a quick trip to the Sharm Egyptian Museum which was a nice airconditioned diversion from the heat. Our group voted to skip the week long live aboard next trip to spend a little more time at UMBI and check out the day trips. Great stay that was really too short!

Excellent location on the beach in Sharks Bay. Nice authentic accommodation - perfect for divers. Good breakfast. Awesome view of the Red Sea from the room. Basic room facilities but nothing is really missing. Strong air-condition. Rifat from the reception was very kind and helpful.

A friend and I just stayed here this week and had an absolutely fantastic experience. She had a small beach cabin, and I took a room up high with a terrace (room 404 was lovely). The staff here was so friendly and helpful and helped us to book the ferry to Aqaba and arranged for a driver to Nuweiba. If you are a cat lover, there are very sweet kittens that will snuggle up on your lap. And the dinner was very good. This place was very quiet and relaxing- nothing fancy- but holds the charm of what Sharm used to be like.

We had a beach hut (aka our hippy hut). Basic. But absolutely brilliant! Very clean, clean bed linen and towels, comfy beds, full size fridge, excellent ac. Ensuite perfectly adequate! My husband has mobility issues and being a few steps to the beach was bliss…not to mention Umbi restaurant….which absolutely has to be not only some of the best food in sharm, but the best location too. Honestly, this place is just perfect. The accommodation although basic is great, the food and location couldn’t be better. I write this with some fear that everyone will come here and spoil the blissful, peaceful, chilled evenings sitting reading or playing cards on the comfy sofas just feet away from the sea! If your looking for “all abusive”, “entertainment “ and loud guests…it’s not for you. But if you’re a keen diver, snorkeller, old hippy or just love chilling and peace and calm…it’s a little piece of heaven.

Stayed in the village for a few days before and after my trip. The diving centre was amazing, along with other amnesties such as local restaurant and massage (Cookie was incredible). If I had known this place I wouldn’t bother booking my liveaboard via Padi but would use them directly. I will definitely come back again!

My son 16 and I had a wonderful time in Sharksbay. Flexible and nice staff. We rerouted to dive safari - both the crew on Freedom 1 and 3 were great - helpful and pleasant. Special thanks to Samir the cook - all food was good, his food espescially good, Ibrahem the captain, Kareem the energetic instructor and the friendliness of the personal instructor. Lots of humor, chill dives and laid back atmosphere. On land was also good, no loud music, no drunks - a secluded little bubble in the Sharm el Inferno ;)

I have been staying at Umbi since 2008 and it’s still my fav. Place in Sharm El Sheik. Authentic, low key, clean and with the most beautiful sea, corals and fishes right at your doorstep. Nevertheless it’s sad to see a massive harbor is being built and it will destroy this natural paradise! Let’s collect firms and stop it!
