JW Marriott St. Maarten Beach Resort & Spa

The property was nice and new, still getting finished so not a ton of decor around. Lost power several times everyday, but they said it was an island wide issue…BEST PARTS were the HUGE Infiniti pool and beach front being only a few steps away. Staff was also AMAZING, very friendly, appreciative and accommodating. There are only 2 restaurants on site, so after a few days the same food got pretty boring. It’s also about a $50/30-40 min ride from SXM. It’s further away than we thought from most places if you plan on venturing off resort so plan on $30 per way per taxi to go anywhere. All in all beautiful resort which I’m sure will only get better as time goes on!

I would like to recommend better food options and a better breakfast buffet more of Caribbean cuisine.

Let me start by saying the rooms and overall spaces are beautiful and very clean. The staff was friendly and accommodating as much as they could be. There is limited food options in the actual hotel, but the food was decent (8/10). I would hope as they grow they will have more things happening ON the actual "resort" especially near the pool area. Not sure why the entire hotel loses power about 4-6 times a day for about 45 seconds to a minute and a half each time....that was odd, and noone really had an answer for that. You do have to watch your door because it does not close entirely....so pulling it when you leave is essential to ensuring your items are secure. The consistency of what we were being charged was not there, we were a group of 14 and some people got a $750 hold for our stay while others only the $250 hold that we were initially told. Overall, I would stay again as I realize they are newer and have some work to do...so I won't firmly hold things against them.

First let me say the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful! The staff is amazing and very helpful. However downfalls the power kept going in and out. The wife wouldn’t work we had to change rooms and move to complete different side. Also it’s a $150 hold PER night just be aware! Some in my group were not prepared for that. The mirror in the rooms could have been better positioned there’s a bar going right in the middle of it which messes a good selfie. Other than that it was great.

The pool area is fantastic! Beautiful layout and pool. The door staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were kept tidy. The smoke alarm going off twice in the night I could definitely do without. Not sure it's worthy of the JW rating, it doesn't have the flare of a JW, maybe more of a regular Marriott.

The best part of the resort were the rooms. They were spacious and the bathroom were a dream with a large tub and separate full size shower. The overall cleanliness of the exterior, pool and beach area were not the best. The restaurants on site weren’t great for the overpriced items and the food did not come out as described with a lot of sides being substituted.they had a coffee shop that was closed the whole 4 days we were there. The staff members were nice and helpful but it seemed like they were understaffed at times. I didn’t think this resort was up to the Marriott brand.

Highly recommend staying here in St Maarten. The hotel was very clean and the majority of the staff were friendly. Kevin is the head of customer service and is your go-to guy for everything. He makes an effort to greet guests and ensure a seamless and exceptional stay. The food options are limited and prices are slightly costly for the meal provided. There is a $50 resort fee for every night that appears on your bill/charged to your card at the end of the stay which is not disclosed in the beginning. You also have to close off your tab each time you leave the pool, bars, etc. It’s best to explore the island and eat away from the hotel. It’s noteworthy, nothing is walking distance. Overall, we were extremely content with our stay and would go again!

Property was brand new, only open a few months. Rooms were very luxurious, well furnished and clean. However, hallways were in dire need of vacuuming. Pool bar had more staff than customers and seemed completely disorganized. Everyone running around but not waiting on customers. Front desk, doormen and cleaning staff very friendly and accommodating. We also were surprised by a $50 per day resort fee upon check out!
