The Castle Arms Inn

A really great experience here, superb food, reasonable prices and quality at every level. Excellent service from Nancy who was not only our bar lady but food waitress too. The menu changes often and there are specials available. Nothing seems to be too much trouble here.

We only stayed for one night, but I wish it had been longer! We arrived at the Castle Arms after a long day and were welcomed warmly. Our group had two rooms and both were attractively presented, well equipped and clean. The accommodation was quiet and we had a good night’s sleep. The included breakfast was generous and of good quality, featuring tasty Cumberland sausages produced by the proprietor. We also had dinner in the restaurant where each of us had excellent, freshly prepared, meals. Prices were modest for the quality of the offering. It is hard to convey a sense of the relaxing atmosphere and pleasant ambience in a review. We talked to the proprietor who apparently only took the Inn over five months ago - he should feel satisfied. The village is beautiful and we walked around it, and a fair distance into the surrounding countryside. Beautiful.

Lovely pub/hotel nestled in the village of snape. Friendly welcoming staff , easy check in service . Rooms are across a small courtyard to the pub which allows them to be quiet. Room was large , well equipped and bed super comfortable . Pub friendly and amazing food . Breakfast choices were excellent

Stayed here on 5 other occasions and was suprised it was under new ownership! We were not disappointed as the inn has improved on many fronts. Rooms felt warmer, the inn felt warmer and cleaner although I wouldn’t say it was unclean on previous. Food was good and staff were pleasant and helpful especially at breakfast where the guy who took our order was really hospitable.

What can I say..... except for the following: Super friendly hosts in Ady and Tia, warm and welcoming and worked non stop to ensure we were made welcome. Absolutely fantastic food, full of flavour, ample portions, good menu choices, reasonably priced and to top it all an absolutely, so flavoursome, full English breakfast, food was 5*+ Rooms were decorated to a high standard, full of original features and charm, beds super comfy, all amenities, ensuite with both bath and shower. Inn had free wifi available, which is a godsend as mobile phone signal in the area is very poor. Will 100% be visiting again

The staff were just brilliant and in particular Jemma and Tia made us feel so welcome. The cooked breakfast was a feast and gave you a great start to the day. Great place to say if you are visiting the Dales. We will certainly be calling here again in the future

Four of us had lunch - all had different food . Everyone thought their food was excellent and Emma who served us couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome We will most definitely be back to sample more dishes and enjoy the ambience of this excellent .

My first visit was with my wife and another couple for dinner. The food and service were both very good. We then took a group of over two dozen people for lunch there shortly afterwards. Once again it was a great success - the food (3 courses) service and ambience were all impressive and appreciated by the group. The staff had clearly taken a good deal of trouble for us.

Highly recommended. Rooms lovely, food gorgeous, staff brilliant and very reasonably priced. A very professionally run buisness, so happy I did my searching online for this. The accommodation/ensuite rooms are at the back of the pub, in its own beautifully converted building.
