We stayed in one of the beachfront bungalows and it was an excellent stay. The bungalow was right on the beach with a veranda with 2 chairs and 2 sun loungers under a thatched parasol. The room which was air conditioned was very clean and cleaned daily. The bed was extremely comfortable. Our bungalow was fairly close to the reception / dining complex which meant we had some noise from the various entertainments but it wasn't too intrusive. Some bungalows are further away but that means a longer walk to get to the restaurant etc. The grounds are beautiful and scrupulously maintained, as is the beach which is very clean with safe bathing areas. There are 2 pools, but we didn't use them. The food is good with a wide selection. I would hesitate to call it excellent but we were pleased with the quality and choice. We only used the buffet, there is an a la carte restaurant but we didn't use it. The overwhelming majority of the visitors are French, consequently we found that very few of the staff spoke good English. We managed OK with our very basic French but some may struggle. We found it difficult to change money. Sterling is not accepted and the A** in the hotel only accepts Visa cards - when it is working. They do accept payment in Euros. We would recommend the Royal Horizon Baobab and would happily go there again.

My family and I spent a beautiful week in Baobab hotel in Somone. We enjoyed our stay there very much. The accomodation is located pretty much in a botanical garden (surrounded with colorful flowers) which is very quiet. The food was amazing, with a wide selection of fruit, salads, types of meat and various specials from all around the world. The beaches were very clean and privat. The entire hotel staff was very nice and helpful.

I really like the garden all around the property, well maintained daily, I notice lot of cleaning staff working tirelessly to keep the property neat and clean. I also like the entertainment side of the place. Security always on guard to secure the property.

The rooms are very good with an AC and the foods are delicious.I also really enjoyed the pool and the cocktails.The decor is very original and the assistance were nice and understanding . Over all amazing experience 🥰👋

Checking in was smooth and quick. However, when we got to our room, it wasn't exactly the oceanview we paid for. The reservation staff had me walking from room to room throughout the property to identify an oceanview room. After viewing approximately four rooms, we eventually found one, which was one of the last buildings at the end of the property. (This property is huge) The room was significantly smaller than the first room we were offered. We also had to wait for staff to add a foldout bed for my teenager in the final room we selected. But, the initial room had beds to accommodate two adults and a teenager. Additionally, our AC did not work at first, but the matter was addressed. However, it made a loud noise, making it difficult to sleep at times. This was our first time visiting the continent, and....we refused to allow what occurred to spoil our trip. Frankly, the restaurant and activity staff singlehandedly saved our trip. Both teams are exceptional, and it shows by the way they treat guest. The grounds of this property are beautiful and maintained daily. We felt safe and enjoyed the pool and ocean. The rooms can do with lots of upgrading. Overall, our stay was okay. May I suggest having images in the office for guests to see what rooms are oceanview. Spending approximately 40 minutes going back and forth after a 10 hour flight wasn't exactly fun.

Meet friends at a conference being held at resort. Food was spectacular, with abundance of choices. Spent 4 days here staying in 2nd floor room as well one if the bungalows when we had to change rooms for last night. Service was excellent with very attentive and conscientious staff.

I booked four rooms for our whole family; we stayed right before Tabaski and I understand usually after this period it is really busy; I am taking time to review Royal Baobab because it is exactly what I expected and beyond; From Binta at the front desk who managed to get me a closer room, to the staff everywhere, Mr Dos Santos who we met in the dining area; the maintenance of this property is huge and everywhere we went it was clean, beautiful; the beauty of this part of Senegal is just something to treasure; it kept all the culture; the food was a variety of Senegalese dish and European; the rooms kept really nice not too luxurious but slightly rustic and very cleaned; I was taking my 15!year old for the first time; it was truly amazing; the entertainment at night with the group responsible of it was just exceptional! Thanks so very much for staying true to the tradition!
