Sol Falco

Although we have stayed at this small hotel for many years and have had very enjoyable holiday this year was different, when we arrived at the hotel they weren’t expecting us so had to find us a different room to the one we had booked,we had paid for a junior suite but had to stay in a standard room for 2 nights,we didn’t make any fuss and accepted a breakfast & lunch for what we thought was complimentary for the inconvenience caused ,unfortunately the hotel thought this compensated us for the different room that they had had payment for!!!! Now I have worked in retail for 40years and never treated my customers in this way!!! My husband and I are very sad to say we won’t be returning to la Quinta or indeed recommending them as we have in the past !!!

Just got back from Sol falco all inclusive holidays and can't wait to be back! Every single aspect of our stay was perfect! Location stunning, very safe and relaxing. Hotel and gardens beautiful and well maintained. Room well kept, tidy and up to standard. Towels changed and room service daily. Aircon was not available before 15.6. unless you upgraded your deal but it was not problem as it was safe and quiet enough to leave the window open during the night time. Pools (7) kept tidy, water was clear blue and refreshing. Pools depth varied but it did not bother us and wanted my daughter to improve her swimming skills anyway... Animation team and kids clubs amazing! Engaging, friendly and both kids did some activities and loved it. Food was absolutely fine, plenty to choose from. Drinks as well... Staff in general very friendly and working really hard. Evening entertainment was good, different shows every night... Beaches were stunning just 1 and 5 minutes away! Really did enjoy snorkeling and swimming... Overall we had really good times at Sol falco! Things to improve: open one more bar as it can get really busy so bit annoying to wait to be serve at peak times.

So ill start with the positives....nice hotel, nice rooms, always cleaned well. Bar and evening entertainment pretty good and park and kids club not bad either. Staff were all pretty nice and reception staff were really friendly. The worse thing about this place is definately the food. It was vile. We were all inclusive and we are not fussy eaters, usually we will always find something we like but the food here was probably the worst ive ever had especially for a 4star hotel. It was dreadful and really does let this hotel down. My kids loved the pool but when you come down the kids slides the pool is far too deep. We saw about 10 kids nearly drown whilst sitting around the pool as if you just arrive, you are not always aware just how deep it is when you first get in. Overall we had a nice time as we always make the best of oyr holidays but i dont think we'd ever return as the food was just awful.

Mixed reviews on this place but I'll start with the negatives in the hope I can end on a positive. So the worst part of this place for us was the food, unfortunately I could not see past this or even make excuses for the awful food experience. Breakfast was just terrible. I am one of those that will try everything until I find something I like. The full English was just awful, I am by no means a fussy eater but this was the worst breakfast ever!! The fried eggs were constantly raw in the middle and stone cold. Bakery section is probably the safest bet although sometimes stale. There is a good variety of food but even the fruit tasted gone off and had a weird taste. Lunch was not alot better again I tried everything but food always cold and lacks any kind of flavour, dinner same!! Totally disappointed as had to eat out everyday as we really could not cope with the awful food here so ended up spending alot more money than we should have. On the grounds of the food I will not return. Swimming pools were way to deep including kids pools, there was a splash area you can walk through but if you have a child that does not enjoy huge amounts of water in their face then don't use. My child is fairly confident in pools with armbands but the main pools just totally freaked her out and myself as not a strong enough swimmer to hold her up when I'm nowhere near touching the floor. Lifeguard could see this and advised we use the smaller pools dotted around the site as they are quieter and not as deep, we took his advise and enjoyed some lovely swims, although the people laying around the smaller pools did not appreciate us turning up with a child !! So lots of looks and made to feel like we shouldn't be there!! On our last day in the quiet pool the life guard came over and told us he had a phonecall about my daughter being in the quiet pool and that we need to be quiet!! She is 5 years old and was floating around with me and her Dad talking at a normal voice range. This outraged me as it ruined her last swim and upset her as she really had done nothing wrong so all in all pools are not family friendly unless you go to the main pools which are far to deep and unmanageable fir non swimmers. Lastly we had so many key issues had to keep going all the way down to reception to change the key not great when dragging ypur tired kid around dripping wet after swimming or beach days etc. The complex itself is well maintained and clean and really pretty and charming for nice strolls, i loved this side of it, very well looked after. The cleaners were great they came in daily and ours was very friendly and worked hard. Entertainment was good, varied every night we enjoyed some good shows and the entertainment staff were friendly and enthusiastic. Location was pretty good close to super markets and 10 minutes walk dwn to harbour and restaurants. I found all the staff to be happy and helpful excluding the one lifeguard on the last day. We had a weeks stay at Sol Falco,initial impressions of the Hotel seemed good however there were a few issues, This place doesn't cater for Vegetarians,there were no options for a hot meal without meat or fish,my Husband who does eat meat said the meat was undercooked,food wasn't warm either,I spent the whole week having salad because there was no alternative for me. Our room was ok however there was toothpaste of the bathroom wall from the previous guests,the toothpaste stayed there the whole time we were there,our towels were changed daily and beds made but the bedding wasn't changed for cleaning all week,other than that I don't think anything got cleaned,the floor was dusty and the shower wasn't cleaned,apart from the sink which seemed to have been wiped,We were woken every night by the boiler which was right next to our room (not what you want when you're on holiday trying to relax) This place needs another bar,it can't possibly cater for the number of guests,the bar staff didn't have alot of knowledge regarding Cocktails,but if you tell them how to make them they'll do it,the bar staff were quite friendly,especially Pepe,Manu,Angel (or maybe Angelo) and an older guy who we didn't get his name always up for a laugh,asked everyone if they want Whiskey. We didn't let these issues spoil our holiday and we still enjoyed ourselves but unfortunately wouldn't return again.

After reading some negative reviews we were a little worried. We needn’t have been! The hotel is absolutely great. Staff were all lovely, friendly, polite and helpful. Our room was as described and was cleaned every day. Yes some bits were tired (curtains and towels) but overall the room was very good. Facility wise there’s something for everyone. There’s a kids pool (loud and busy), other pools too including a quiet one which we used and it was great. No problems getting sunbeds. Food was as expected for all inclusive, lots of choice and themed nights (although we ate out most nights-our choice). Overall a great experience and we would go back.

We stayed at hotel for a week at the beginning of September and it was our first family holiday abroad with our 3 ur old son. Over all the hotel is good Good - *The food in the dining room was fine. Lots and lots of choice and variety and it was enjoyed by all 5 of us in our group. *the snack bar is fab as we could feed our son a snack around 4.30/5 when he was hungry and this saved us having a grouchy boy at tea time in the dining room. There was also ice cream, sweet, crisps and coffee machine by snack bar and this was all great *We were in A block so we were close to the pool area and the main part of the hotel so it was a good location on the complex *The toilets in the public areas were clean and the dining room was also clean *Staff were all lovely *lovely little beach just a few minutes walk away *The little kids club inside for the little ones is really lovely and our son had a couple of mornings in there and he had great fun, this was free for a couple of hours *very chilled out hotel with no sun lounger/towel wars. There are lots of swimming pools, we stayed around the baby pool and that suited us. Not so good - *There are no lifts so we had to carry our son up to the 3rd floor when he fell asleep in his buggy in the evening, not an issue as long as there are 2 of you to do this * We paid for the xtra room - tea and coffee facilities. This is a bit misleading because there is no normal coffee, just tea bags and decaf coffee what was not very nice. Also if you used the mug the housekeeper took it away and you didn’t have a cup for tea and coffee. We asked at reception for mugs to be returned but it never happened *The xtra room meant we could have not just local drink but branded as well. The staff would also try the luck and we regularly had to ask for the branded drinks. *The cleanliness of the room. They didn’t clean the room during our stay or even properly prior to our arrival. They came in daily and made the beds and have clean towels but the floor was dirty from the day we arrived. Couldn’t walk around in bare feet after a shower or our feet were dirty. My mum had a separate room in a different block and didn’t seem to have the same issue Overall a lovely hotel and we did have a lovely holiday, they just need to tweak a few minor things to improve the place.

Just returned from a 7 night stay at the Sol Falco. As a couple 59/66 we found the hotel geared towards families. The children are well catered for. The room was clean although the bed linen was not changed once during our stay, Somewhat disappointing for a 4* resort. The food was okay always managed to find something to eat. Very busy dining hall. May be management should look at the ages of guests when allocating rooms. Third floor no lifts and we were not the only guests of an older age up there.

The first part of the week was marvellous, and all the staff appeared friendly…however, on the 21st of September one member of the bar staff handed me a beer mat with his social media details on, I told him I am married (which he blatantly knew, as he had served us for days prior) …anyway, he appeared to accept it. 30 mins later, I’d gone to use the ladies, whilst washing my hands he appeared (in the ladies) asking me for a kiss, ‘just ones kiss, me and you’ at which point I felt quite scared of his ruthlessness…he asked me again, and again, until I pushed passed him and found my family. - he then stared at me at every opportunity, walking past, through the windows…I felt more uncomfortable and unsafe then I’d ever felt before! …I did not bring it up at the time as I knew my partner (who I referred to as husband to be more brassic) would be fuming and I didn’t want to ruin the holiday for those that had with travelled with us.. - I double checked that our door was double locked (something that I had not done prior as I felt safe) and I tossed and turned all night fretting about the following day. When we were back in our hotel room that night, we saw that a member of staff was chucked down the slide (we’ve learnt this to be a common occurrence on a last shift) and we watched and laughed! - the next morning, when I reluctantly went down for breakfast, I could see that he wasn’t working, and the same again when the evening bar opened. - I then bought it to the bar staff’s attention what had happened the previous night, and their respond was (whilst laughing) ‘you’re a pretty lady! What do you expect!’)…and they confirmed that he was the person being chucked in the pool the night before!! And just for the hotels confirmation, he had dark curly hair on top, and I hope is not employed next season, as he well and truly ruined what could have been a fab holiday!!! May I add, nacho in the kids club, was amazing, and my son found him so entertaining and funny!
