We stayed for 11 nights at the La Solara hotel and despite the iffy weather (an unusual depression over all of Europe) we had the best time. We received a warm welcome (though be prepared for your room not being ready until 1600) and were shown to our room overlooking the sea. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff really make it a special place. There is a network of paths across the Sorrento peninsula which can be accessed from the back of the hotel - the lovely reception staff will give you the local maps. There was plenty of choice at dinner in the evening - the pastas are very good as is the meat and fish cookery, though the veg is a little overcooked for modern British tastes. The Gala dinner on a Sunday was a happy event and we will undoubtedly return to this gem of a hotel again. Thank you

We had a lovely fortnights holiday at this hotel. The staff are all so friendly, caring and professional from start to finish. The hotel is set in a beautiful quiet area just outside Sorrento. There is easy access to Sorrento by the hotel's shuttle bus which is regular and reliable. A beautiful cove for sea swimming and snorkeling is accessible on foot from the back of the hotel by walking past the shuttle bus stop and following the footpath for about 15 or 20 minutes. The hotel pool area is lovely with the terrace area overlooking the sea . Plenty of sunbeds and towels with shade if you want it. Pool is a good size and great for length swimming. The food was lovely and we enjoyed a varied menu for the evening meals. We appreciated the hard work, friendliness and care shown by Marcello and his staff in the restaurant particularly Francesco and Carmine who looked after our table. Our room was at the back without a sea view, which we knew when we booked as we preferred to spend our money on the excursions and thought we wouldn't be in it much to be fair! It looked into an olive grove and had a sliver of sky , we awoke to the sound of birds in the the morning which was lovely! We got our sea views from the pool terrace and the dining room and bar with it's panoramic windows. Room was clean and comfortable with effective air con . We went with TUI and had an excellent service from the rep Marianna who was friendly and accessible and did a great introductory talk and a guided walk in Sorrento on our first day which we would recommend. All in all a wonderful holiday in this beautiful area.

This hotel is a good standard hotel, with a really great swimming pool. The whole hotel is very clean and kept well, although dated in places. They could do with cushions on the sunbeds too !!! The food is very important to the dinning room staff, who are all very good, friendly and helpful, breakfast is ok, not a full English type breakfast, but certainly good enough and fresh. Lunch by the pool is good, usual stuff with pasta, the pizza is actually great. The dinners - these are ok, i had expected great with all these reviews but can really only say it is ok, its plentiful, and there is no rush , in fact they state the food is freshly made for each order, but i dont think this is quite correct, However they are very proud of the whole dining experience and the Gala dinner was fun. The shuttle is very handy, Sorrento is lovely, this is our second visit, but it has now got extremely busy with all the cruise ships, when they 'land' there are great queues of people following guides which tend to take over the paths and areas, but its still a great place to go. Pompeii is amazing but extremely busy, but a definite must see. overall a great holiday, although we went with TUI , i would do any more holidays independently as you get no service for going with them.

Our first impression was that the hotel is not really in walking distance of Sorrento, however, the shuttle bus is very reliable and starts at 7:50 and last collection from town is 23:15. In fact it was lovely to be in the hotel away from the hustle on an evening and the food is the same standard as most restaurants in Sorrento centre. Drinks reasonably priced and the hotel is immaculately clean and the staff in all areas go above and beyond to ensure you have a great stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Sorrento

This Hotel is all about the Staff they are all lovely and make this Hotel stand out. Much has already been said about this Hotel so I won’t repeat what has already been said. I’ll just add some tips, expect a one hour plus transfer depending on your arrival and departure times ours was over two hours returning to the Airport it’s just the tight roads and traffic it can’t be helped if your squeamish don’t look at the Scooter riders there Crazy 🤣. There is a Free Shuttle every hour and return on the quarter hour until 11.15PM prompt, the lovely professional safe driver Mario can’t stop on the road long due to traffic so don’t be late. You can walk to Sorrento but there is little or no pavement but it’s a nice change lovely scenery, just be careful. Sorrento is lovely, great Ice-cream. The Port is in town for the Boat to Capri around €90 return for two but remember your return Boat may not pick up where it dropped you off so make sure to ask. Napoli get the Train it’s about a 10 minute walk from the shuttle bus drop off approximately €16 return for two around an hours ride some buskers onboard but adds to the fun, some dodgy characters in town so keep hold of your purse, on the same line the train stops right at Pompei around 30 minute ride and €9 return for two, don’t buy tickets from the touts make sure you go through to the kiosk allow at least 4 hours for Pompei it’s very busy. There are hillside walks behind the Hotel and just down and across the road is a nice Beach harbour with restaurants, it is down a steep slope though.
