Marina Piccola 73

My husband and I started our 30th anniversary trip to Italy in Sorrento last month. When I began to plan the trip and determined Sorrento would be our first base, I was torn between this lovely hotel down in the marina and a larger hotel up on the cliffs. I am so thankful that I chose Marina Picolla 73! We chose a balcony, sea-view room and the view did not disappoint. To wake up to the sound of ship horns, sea gulls cawing and waves gently lapping the shore was such a treat. The room was spacious and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The bathroom was large and had nice amenities and robes and slippers! Breakfast is served on a terrace with an amazing view. Donatella was delightful. She made an excellent cappucino and provided us with delicious treats for breakfast, including her homemade cake. You can also request eggs for breakfast if you want, but we never did. She also told us about the resident sea gulls and how she helped the daddy sea gull when he arrived with fishing line wrapped around his leg which makes him now walk with a little limp. We loved this location. You can get up to the main part of Sorrento a few ways: Taxi, bus, lift or walk. We mainly used the stairs accessed by walking along the sidewalk which runs along the cliff. These stairs take you directly to Piazza Tasso. You can also walk along the marina and once you get to the Marameo beach club you can either take the lift up for a few Euro or enter a path which zig zags up the hill and ends up at the Villa Comunale Di Sorrento where you can enjoy a fabulous view of the bay! From here it is just a short walk into the magical streets of Sorrento. Mariarita in the office was very welcoming when we arrived. Unfortunately for us, our flight was delayed overnight in London on what was to be our first night, and Mariarita was very responsive in helping us with our airport transfers the day we were to arrive. She also set us up with a private driver to take us back to Naples on the day we left for Sicily, and he was one of my favorite drivers of the entire trip! This hotel is beyond charming and magical. We will not stay anywhere else when we return to Sorrento!

This hotel is a real gem. Not only is the location beautiful, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They were very responsive via email ahead of the trip on questions regarding day trip excursions, etc. We were greeted upon our arrival with a mini tour of our accommodation and recommendations of where to eat during our stay. The bartender was incredibly kind and made the most amazing cocktails I’ve ever had. I ordered an aperol spritz and he made me a passion fruit spritz that was so delicious. The breakfast is also a must. We were given an array of homemade pastries, fresh fruit and of course espresso. Highly recommend this hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay at Marina Piccola 73. The hotel is small, quaint, family owned and they literally treat you like family. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The breakfast is delicious. Mariarita was absolutely incredible working with us to plan a perfect 4 days in Sorrento before we even got there! It was a dream come true!

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The beautiful decorations/architecture, the easy access to the Marina, and the unbelievable staff made it such a treat. We especially had a great time with Vincenzo every night on the terrace. He made fantastic drinks and was very creative. We loved getting to talk with him. The hotel also helps set up excursions at the Guest request which we had a great time. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. And every night we said hi to Joe Black (cat) and he would sit with us outside. We loved Marina Piccola and will definitely be back.

A little difficult to find the entrance, we called to get some assistance and instead of telling us where to go she (I forgot her name) came out and met us at our location and showed us the way. Lovely way to start our trip! The room was beautiful, the rooftop bar was amazing with amazing drinks and a stunning view of Mount Vesuvius. The bartender was wonderful and made us feel at home. Breakfast was delicious with so many options. Truly a magnificent stay!

We enjoyed an amazing stay in Marina Piccola - beautiful bedroom suite, delicious breakfast provided by Donnatella, excellent location, super friendly and helpful staff (really helpful restaurant recommendations), very easy walk into the centre of Sorrento. We loved it!

This hotel is beautiful. Couldn’t dream of a better location. The rooftop bar was gorgeous and Vincenzo took such good care of us. The cocktails are top notch. Mary greeted us and was so kind and helpful. Do not skip this place! Best place we stayed over the course of two weeks in Europe.

This is the most amazing hotel I’ve ever been to! We stayed in the terrace room and it was so cool and unique, with a great view of the harbor. The breakfasts are delicious and the service impeccable. The owners make sure to attend to every detail and coordinated transport, tours, and other services for us. Can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is!

We absolutely loved our stay at Marina Piccola 73. Everything from the decor, food, service, views was exceptional. The location is perfect, we loved being right by the water, and it was easy & scenic to get up to the main part of town when needed. We hired a scooter and Alice was so helpful with organising this for us. The breakfasts on the terrace were incredible, Donnatella made and served the delicious food & coffee, always with a big smile & very friendly. Would love to stay here again. Melissa and Paul
