The Tide - Hotel

Booked and paid upon demand for one single room for 5 - 9 August 2024. Cancelled 7 days before planned arrival, but was offered a 5% refund only. We requested a full refund on the day after the monies were drawn, on 30 July. So we cancelled 7 days ahead of planned arrival, but the hotel wants to unlawfully keep all of the NOK 15440. Bad business practices.

My wife and I were greatly looking forward to this overnight visit but were unable to travel by car to the Hotel as there was a snow warning in place and the road from our previous overnight accommodation was closed meaning we had to undertake a 535km detour from Sweden to Norway which took hours of course. We messaged the Hotel well ahead of our planned arrival time to advise of the problem but they insisted on charging us for the night anyway. Great hospitality I don’t think; I’m proud to say that this hasn’t been my experience in my home Country. We already have another Lofoten trip planned but needless to say with other hospitality destinations.

We spent one night and decided to come back for our last night in the Lofotons. Very, very accommodating. Very hospitable hosts. The rooms are very nice. The restaurant - The Havet- served one of the best meals we’ve had in Norway. We want to come back the next time we come to the Lofotons

The hotel personnel is very friendly and they provided a warm welcome. The room for three people doesn't have the best view but is still nicely decorated. The breakfast has a beatiful atmosphere and view, but the scrambled eggs and the pancakes were prepared early and kept warm, which reduced their quality quite much. At the moment, the parking lot is quite a construction site, but this will surely change in the future:) Other than that, the stay was very nice and Sørvågen is a good location to stay.

We discovered this new and modern design hotel. 5min from Moskenes. Friendly welcome and amazing view from the room on the harbor. If you book there, you have to experience the restaurant with the panorama view. We had dinner there on thursday March 24th. Fish & lamb very delicious. Good wine recommendation as well. And tasty fondant au chocolat. All in all, excellent and friendly service. Thank you! We will come back!

Considering that Norway is the most expensive country in Europe and that the breathtaking scenery and quaint fishing villages of Lofoten make it the country’s #1 tourist destination, the high price of the converted fisherman’s cabins here is pretty average. The cabins are refurbished to modern standard but are somewhat spartan. Mine had a stove-top but no oven, not even a microwave or a toaster, and the lack of a dish-rack meant that you had to use the dishwasher at least once a day or else improvise. The bathroom was similarly minimal. The bed was comfortable but not properly balanced, so the upper mattress kept on slipping off one side of the bed overnight! I had to park the car on the clifftop and walk the final 50 m to the cabin (which was 800 m from the reception). But these are minor issues: the setting is fabulous in all weathers (and staying a week meant I did see the harbour, village and mountains in brilliant sunshine, torrential rain, swirling fog and eerie stillness). Self-catering is a good option in a country where restaurant meals are exorbitant, and the traditional rorbuer on the water’s edge are definitely the place to stay. The environment is peaceful, the staff friendly and efficient, wifi excellent and everything clean and functional.

Das Zimmer war sauber, die Bettwäsche leider nicht und hatte zudem ein großes Loch, das Bett war bequem. Das Zimmer war eher klein, es gibt keinen Schrank oder Ablagemöglichkeiten, man muss also aus dem Koffer leben. Es gibt aber keinen Platz, um einen geöffneten Koffer abzulegen. Das Zimmer ist so ungeschickt eingerichtet, dass man nirgends ausreichend Platz findet. Das Bad war groß, alles funktionierte tadellos. TV mit norwegischen Sendern ist vorhanden. Zimmerreinigung wird theoretisch auf Anfrage durchgeführt, ist aber eigentlich egal, denn es wird scheinbar nur das Bett gemacht, eine Reinigung des Zimmers findet offensichtlich nicht statt. Der Ausblick war wirklich sehr schön auf den Hafen. Ein stabiles Wifi war vorhanden. Das Essen im Restaurant war gut, aber das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmte allerdings nicht. Das Frühstücksbüffet war in Ordnung. Parkplätze sind ausreichend vorhanden. Fußläufig sind 2 kleinere Supermärkte zu erreichen, nebenan war ein sehr nettes Restaurant.

im Haupthaus, Superior Zimmer 201 - toller Ausblick auf den Hafen, sehr gross, schönes grosses Bad, gemütliches Bett, eigener kostenfreier Parkplatz, gute Qualität beim Frühstück, aber Organisation und Angebot ausbaufähig, leckeres Abendessen mit schöner Aussicht auf den Hafen.

Sehr angenehme Erfahrung, Zimmer sauber, Frühstück includiert und fein. Es bleibt kein Wunsch offen, tolles Ambiente super Aussicht aus Restaurant Und Zimmer. Der gebuchte Ausflug wurde leider storniert, aber problemlos rückabgewickelt.
