The Sea Hotel

Me and my partner, we both enjoyed our stay at the Sea Hotel. The only downside we experienced was that we had to pay £20 for 1 hour late check out. It's very expensive as most hotels don't charge for the first hour.

Booked for dinner, absolutely horrendous! Did not have full menu, I ended up with something that was supposed to be vegetable soup! A half cooked bread roll obviously heated up in microwave, I skipped the main, as I said a lot of items were not available, decided to have a dessert only to be told no desserts , waiting for a delivery tomorrow Saturday. We were not offered coffee, asked for the bill, the waiter said card declined, my friend produced a different card which was also declined. Turns out it was a fault with their system! We should have realised how bad things were when we were the only three for dinner. Definitely will not be returning

This hotel is not for someone who likes quality and comfort. The staff are great and very helpful however the positives stop there. Food in the restaurant was poor and the breakfast coffee awful. We asked to change rooms due to being put in the annexe (room was not the best) and upgraded to a premier room. The view was lovely as was the room but it was way too hot and no where to turn heating down. Regarding accessibility this hotel has no lift and the toilets in the reception were out of action. I can’t fault the staff as they were great.

I’m not a fussy traveler, but when I stay in a hotel I expect it to have certain standards which I’m sure most people would. The room itself was dirty, looked very tired considering the hotel has supposedly been renovated. The tea/coffee station was shockingly dirty. It was covered in dried coffee grounds. There were crumbs of biscuits behind the bin area. There’s no wardrobe, just a rail on the wall. The TV didn’t work as the WiFi kept disconnecting. The radiator was broken. The carpet is heavily stained and the wallpaper was pealing off and there are holes in the walls, and those walls are very thin so you hear what’s going on in the next room. We were told on arrival they had a wedding on so our only option to eat at the hotel was at the sports bar. .. a sports bar that is still being renovated with scaffolding and bare wires next to tables. Not what I expect to see while eating and especially when you have kids!

Let’s address the title of the review first. There were a couple of little things that a fussy or moaning traveller might have picked up or mentioned, but nothing to reduce the overall impact of a great value stay, so I am not even going to say what they were. This is a great value location with lovely, friendly staff, nice facilities, some of which are being refurbished to be even better over the coming weeks. The place was clean, the bedroom was big and the bed comfortable too. The power shower and the bathroom toiletries were good and the free on-site parking was very convenient. And then came breakfast. Included in a very very compelling and surprisingly low room rate, the breakfast was as good as many I have had in 4 and 5 star hotels and better than most, and all served with a smile. I travel to the area for work on a regular basis and I will definitely be back. Thank you Sea Hotel Team. It was my pleasure to stay at your establishment.

Had a lovely lunch today. Good Friday. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was gorgeous and the value for money, absolutely spot on. Register your vehicle at reception and you get free parking. What's not to love. Will definitely return 👍

Rooms done poor standard paint work was the worst ever seen carpets dirty just so disappointed still needs a lot of work outside in car park rubbish litter everywhere still loads working going on and in bar only serving few drinks it's bit sad could be hotel if took time to better standard

Stayed for 1 night paid extra for breakfast, had been closed due to refurbishment and we stayed day after opening. Workmen in main lobby as soon as we arrived no front desk a workman told us where to go . Our room was on 2 nd floor no lift and I have mobility issues but I took it slow the ground floor twin rooms were being refurbished. Our room had no wardrobe, just a hanging rail, no drawers to put clothes and no curtains just a roller blind it was a nicely decorated room though and was clean. Breakfast was served between 7 and 9.30 however there was a huge sign to say it was between 7 and 12 so I asked if we could come down at 10 which they said no problem we will let the kitchen know.we got to dining area at 10 it was all being tidied away so they took us through to the bar area which was a right mess with boxes and bags and keys and ppl in and out and they sat us at a freezing cold window . Breakfast was a full English that was only choice due to them being under refurbishment ( their website said work would be done the day prior) the breakfast came after waiting 35 mins but was absolutely lovely but due to us having to check out at 11 we didn't have time to eat it all was a mad rush for us to get bk upstairs and pack room up . Bar was closed and no restaurant which a lady told us day before we came , we went up rd to a lovely Indian restaurant instead. I paid 93 pound for a twin room with breakfast and hugely disappointed.

Still under refurbishment despite saying it was all done for re opening in Jan no bar open or restaurant, workmen allover . 93 pound for 2 night a twin room I could of stayed on ocean rd band b instead for 60 Inc Breakfast. Breakfast was lovely but had to wait 35 mins for it.
