Forest Guest House

What a wonderful Bnb! We were caught short due to a fault with our room in Newcastle so rang up Forest guest house very last minute to see if they had any rooms available. They were incredibly welcoming and arranged a last minute room for us- it was absolutely spotless! Beautiful room, great linen, and lovely touches such as home made chocolates, fresh milk, and a cafetière in the room with nice coffee. Breakfast was really high quality- a great range of options of freshly cooked food and drink. The location is lovely- very close to the sea with beautiful coastal walks. It is close by to nice restaurants. Would highly recommend - excellent value.

Perfect for our three night stay. Friendly, helpful hosts whose knowledge of South Shields made everything easy for us. Our room was warm and spotless, with luxurious decor, the bed super-comfy. Nice little touches like welcome chocolates, milk and filtered water in fridge daily were much appreciated. Ensuite small, with no room for a wash basin which was in the room itself, but we managed ok. Breakfasts to die for!! Excellent location for restaurants, parks, seafront, shops, public transport etc. Highly recommend and if we come back to South Shields we would definitely like to stay again. Had a fantastic stay here. The breakfasts are gorgeous all fresh good quality food. the place is spotless and the hosts are such nice people great location too! The rooms are great with mini fridge stocked with milk water chocolates a really nice touch we will return thank you so much

Once again Janet and Peter were the perfect hosts. Unfortunately we were here under sad circumstances but Janet an Peter went above and beyond to accommodate us in there rental property then a few nights in the guest house.. thank you for your kindness and the beautiful flowers. Hope to be back in a few months .

Wonderful stay.. rooms very clean host lovely and went the extra mile even something simple as getting different sausages for my breakfast which was delish..would definately recommend..very close to all the amenities...we will be returning soon

The owners got me out of a hole when another hotel had to cancel my stay due to an electrical fault. Lovely clean room, super accommodating, close to little haven beach and a wide range of restaurants If I'm ever in the area again I'd try to stay here

Hosts Janet and Peter are friendly and know area. Unquestionably hospitable. Rooms well-appointed, quiet and peaceful. Towels are absolutely luxurious. Great traditional breakfast. South Shields , its people and area a hidden gem. Worth exploring.

Excellent guest house in the heart of South Shields! Janet and Peter were the best of hosts, and the guest house was all that one needs for a night or short stay in Shields! Very clean and warm and homely!! Added Bonus the breakfast was amazing and filling with good quality produce! Will definitely be back and advise anybody rather than staying in larger hotels give this quality Bed and Breakfast a try! Many thanks for our enjoyable stay.

Once again a fabulous stay in South Shields at the Forest Guest House. Immaculate Rooms as ever, super comfy beds and a breakfast to die for. (thankyou Janet). Cannot recommend this Guest House highly enough. Great fun and games as we dragged Janet and Peter out for a well earned meal and night out in South Shields. Just a wee heads up, Peter does a mean coffee in the mornings and its proper coffee. Just as well as the head was a bit dull. South Shields is a wee gem of a town in south Tyneside, often overlooked as a destination but a great place to base yourself. Will be back soon
