This was one of my most pleasurable hotel stays via the thousands of places I've been. When I was there at the hotel was spotless. When I arrive to my sweet there was a bottle of wine and treats waiting for me. That was totally unexpected. The service was top notch from the front desk, to the cleaning service. Nice modern hotel. I think the Marriott overall for stepping up their game and improving their hotel greatly.
Upon check in room 729 : Absolutely No help at front desk! Not welcoming at all. The lady there, did not smile. Did not ask anything, she had a reaction of disgust on her face, almost seemed a bit ******. Normally I am used to hearing some level of greeting. There was absolutely nothing here. Truly have never been treated so badly before. I was charged an additional $586.00 for the stay. Totalling to $1,961.33. Not a single receipt in sight. I stayed 19-23 Oct 2023. I was also held at reception for over 2hrs resulting to me missing Uber which got cancelled and was charged for I then missing the event I came to the states for. Absolutely No sense of remorse from the staff or so called reception manager. The air conditioning in the room constantly made a humming sound. Sleep quality was very poor. I would have provided this feedback, if someone one asked We were lugging our luggage and struggling with the hotel door. There was no attempt being made to hold the door for us. I understand you do not have porter service. But what stops you to help someone with the door?. Never staying here again and I do not recommend it!!! I demand a receipt and I’m demanding my money back or I inform the police. It’s as simple as that!
We arrived and found our room wasn't the one we had booked. We went downstairs after going out for dinner and asked if we were in a Wellbeing Room. The receptionist said no, we had only booked deluxe. We were able to show her our booking.com booking which clearly stated Wellbeing Room. She said 'well you can move if you want' I said yes please, and specifically mentioned the mirror that was supposed to be in the room and how we were looking forward to it. We moved and the room had only one feature of the Wellbeing Room - an air filter. No ”the Mirror” or Wellbeing pack. There was also only one towel for 4 people. Upon questioning where the other things were we were told only Suites has mirrors and that the Wellbeing packs ”weren't ready yet” Why sell a product you can't deliver. Please amend your advertising material. The shelves in the room were broken, the drawers didn't close because the unit was so skewed. Even when we asked for more towels they gave us 2 for 4 people. The plug didn't work so we couldn't bath our children until they sent a new one the next day. The floor was filthy and we couldn't let the kids touch it, they had to play on the beds only. Some staff were brisk and cold but some were lovely. There is a club lounge on level 10 that is dirty with a fridge full of old food and drinks, maybe the staff use it? I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you get a good price and expect a 2 star hotel
So I'll start with the positives - spent 3 days 2 nights here. check in was great! we were early and we were accommodated immediately. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, Dinner and the bar were great as well. Room was mostly clean. Staff was super friendly. Right across from the mall which was great! Now the cons - this hotel is old!!!! ceiling tiles in the room were falling apart, the hair dryer was sticky and dirty. the common areas of the hotel looked run down and not as clean as the rooms. However, everyone was lovely, I would stay here again, the bed was comfy.
I haven't been here since before COVID so I'm considering that in this review. I think they have made zero improvements since 2019. I checked in to find out that there were no bottles of water. It was a good thing I brought my own and I'm a Gold Honors member. The front desk worker was very nice and pleasant. But the rooms are getting very old and are in a dire need of a makeover.
I haven't returned to Stamford for a long time. I am very satisfied with the hotel I chose this time. The young lady in the lobby is very Nice. You can walk to downtown. The surrounding area is safe and quiet. I will choose here next time I return to Connecticut.

Hotel, as a whole, seemed dated as others have said. My partner and I made many a joke to it looking like The Shining. We didn't mind, but something to note.
The free breakfast had a limited selection. Don't expect full buffets, just something to get you through the morning 'til lunch.
We didn't get the chance to use the facilities (laundry, gym), but they were offered.
-The beds were hard and were uncomfortable to us. We needed to purchase a foam mattress to make sleep more bearable, as our hips and backs started to hurt after the first two nights.
-The elevators broke down more than a few times during our stay. Thankfully they worked on check-out day, otherwise we would have been in trouble!
OVERALL: For the price and location, we were very happy with our stay! Love the staff, attentiveness and consistency. Just wished they had better beds and less temperamental elevators. Even with the dated appearance, if you need a place to stay, this place does the job for a price that won't burn your wallet. We recommend!
I needed a place to stay while my home's lawn was being treated, and Super 8 in nearby Stamford fit the bill: Spotlessly clean & fresh room with all a person needs, truly a non-smoking room, great quiet climate control, humongous perfect comfortable bed with THREE (3) excellent comfy pillows and lovely fresh linens, a bigger-than-mini fridge, very welcome tea/coffee maker & supplies, excellent microwave, great LG TV, strong wifi, toiletries and plenty of freshly laundered towels in the bright clean bathroom with a plenty deep bathtub with shower. The lighting everywhere was perfect, the very roomy closet (all usable space!) had full length mirrored bifold doors, very useful desk & chair, plenty of electrical outlets thankfully well-placed for easy access. The parking lot was clean, well paved and easy to manuever. The staff is excellent, helpful, reliable, confidence-inspiring, super-nice, available 24/7, welcoming & attentive 😊 Superb Super 8 by Wyndam in Stamford, CT was great! Thank you everyone ⚘ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We paid $503.70 for the hotel and there was NO access to the pool, hot-tub, gym, sauna, or restaurant. They were “closed for the weekend” starting Thursday. The only thing open, beside the conference which we attended, was the bar – and neither of us drink! One of the four elevators was broken before we got there on Thursday; I learned from other reviews that there was elevator issues the prior weekend, where three of four elevators were down. There were only a few parking spots up front, either handicapped (fortunately I am) or reserved for registration or a beauty salon. A large section of the parking garage was blocked off, due to a car fire that happened days before our arrival. That section remained closed through the entire weekend. In fact, the parking garage was full to capacity for most of the weekend. Other guests had to park at another garage, or even Stop & Shop garage a few blocks away. We checked in Thursday, and learned that there is an additional $100 hold for the first night and additional $50 hold for the other nights on our credit card “for incidentals”. Even though the hotel knew MONTHS in advance that the hotel was full, they had ONE person at the front desk Thursday evening when many were trying to check-in. The line was outside the front door several times. I also noted that for such a huge lobby/atrium, there was only ONE garbage can, and ZERO recycle bins. There were no garbage bins available in the panel/conference rooms either, let alone recycle bins. In fact, there were no recycle bins in the rooms either. We hung up our towels and washcloths on Thursday night to reuse them (and save water usage). Friday, housekeeping took the towels, and we had to go to the front desk for replacements. They did not have washcloths at the front desk, and we were told that they would bring them up to the room within an hour – but we had to be there. So, we waited TWO hours – missing panels and events at the conference, and ended up having to go back to the front desk for the washcloths. Friday evening, three of the four elevators were down, and the final elevator was “acting up.” Since I was in a wheelchair, I had to leave a conference panel and head back to my room. Upon arriving at my room, I found that I was locked out, even though we had the room until Sunday. There was a long line at the front desk because most – if not all – of the people that checked into the hotel on Thursday were similarly locked out of their rooms too. The hotel took our key cards and gave us metal keys to the room, warning us that it would cost us $100 each if we lose them. Even if the amenities were open, we would THUS have no access to them. I also learned that I had no access from the parking garage into the hotel without a key card. I will admit that the hotel was quick to get the elevators repaired, and that three of four were running by the next morning.
