On the Terrace

Lovely, clean and comfortable accommodation. Great sea views and peaceful location. Very comfortable bed and an excellent shower with great water pressure. Everything you needed was there. Would definitely stay there again.

Was very much looking forward to staying at "On The Terrace', it was to be one of the highlights and my chance to have a bit of a luxurious relax in the middle of my four week trip. Arrived about 3pm and the first thing i saw was a 'For Sale/Sold' sign in the front yard. Feeling apprehensive, I rang the doorbell (after a bit of a search for the 'reception' area), and was greeted by a friendly gentleman that was surprised when I said I was wanting to check in. He said he knew nothing about it, and had to go fetch his wife. She was incredibly unhelpful and antagonistic, showing me that according to her list my booking had been cancelled (and I showed her my booking confirmation from *********** from six months earlier), and it felt like she was accusing me of duplicity! She also said that the room was available as it had just had a cancellation, yet did not offer for me to stay there. I was very upset by this time, fearing that I would not find alternate accommodation, as it was between Christmas and New Years. She asked to see my booking again, and said "that isn't even our rate" when I showed her again. I was in tears when I said "I guess I'll have to find somewhere else to stay then", to which she replied "I guess you will". No offer to help me find something or where to look, no sympathy, and no friendliness. Made me feel like a criminal. If she was the new owner and they are continuing the business, avoid, and if she was the outgoing owner, good riddance!
