"i saw many positive reviews and was excited to see if it was reality... Simply put, its worth visiting Luoyang just to stay at May Fourth Youth Hostel. The level of cleanliness, amicability, overall positive yet low-key ambience should be the standard across the country. From the music choice in the lobby to the staff who run it, It's clear it has been designed and is run by people who really understand what it means to be a traveller and what makes a good hotel. The rooms are spacious (sometimes hostels can feel claustophobic - but not here), with beds having more space than typical, good quality pillow and duvets. Suited for both travellers from the east and west, there are seated and squat toilets, with a large array of showers. The washing machine is great (if they had a couple of good Dryers too that would be amazing), as well as the communal rooms with vending machines, pool table, and seating area (including the lovely quiet library space) The location is decent too, a spacious cultural park is nearby with the hostel itself tucked away from the main street, creating convinience but not crowds. The price is perfect! ideal for young people, students and solo travellers visiting on a budget. My friend decided to stay here two more days just because of the comfort and facilities. As both a foreigner and a woman, i felt safe and welcome here so i reccommend friends from abroad to come check this place out. Possibly the best youth hostel i've had the pleasure of staying in oh also the little cat is so cute !"

"Unbeatable location right next to Luoyi Ancient City and the main road, yet away from the crowds and noise. There are a lot of restaurants and convenience stores nearby both on the main road side and the ancient city side. I had fallen sick  from an infection from my earlier trip but the lady boss and the person at night duty, both helped me to order food delivery (as my food delivery app was not working) and even delivered it to my room for two days. The cleaning staff do a very good job. There is free UV sterilized water available and they give snacks in the room at check-in. There is laundry machine available but I never used it. There is also a cozy room for reading/socializing/eating. I have never seen all these facilities in a hotel at this price. I didn't even get pressured to write a review like in other places. All in all, a great place to stay. "

"The hotel is right next to the metro exit. The staff are all friendly, and the cleaning lady is diligent. One thing I don’t understand is that I saw a calico kitten locked inside the hotel restaurant two days in a row. I’m not sure whether it is the hotel’s cat or just a stray. It looks clean and well-fed, though. I hope it’s the hotel’s cat and that it’s kept inside for its own safety."

"新開業的店，前台服務態度特別好，中央空調很暖和。酒店裡的香薰很好聞，感覺很細節。一次性拖鞋一次性馬桶墊，免費礦泉水，感覺很乾凈，這個價位裏的天花板。回老家在洛陽轉高鐵，很幸運找到這家店，暫時休息一晚上，真的超出預想！"

"Solid option for Luoyang. Great common areas to relax. Comfy bed, good AC, good wifi. Free drinking water. Kind and helpful staff/owners, though no English spoken. I arrived early on a night train and they kindly allowed me to check in right away. Note that if the reception isn't there, you can contact them on wechat or ask the spa on the ground floor to find the staff. Good location - right between the old city area and food street to the east and the Disney-style Tang re-creations to the west. Near a metro stop, and bus 53 goes direct from the hostel to the Longmen grottoes. It's a little confusing to find: you can enter the elevator-only entrance with the white letters above it, and go to floor 3. Or enter the spa, and go up two floors of stairs. The hostel was strangely empty when I was there, just 3 guests total. I would stay here again."

"absolutely perfect! i can’t believe this quality of service, cleanliness, decorations, amenities… for such a low price! i was very well treated by the hosts and he knew how to be helpful to make my stay easier. highly highly recommend this hotel. if i have the chance i’ll be back, and will tell everyone who comes to Luoyang to check it !"

"It's located about 1km away from the ancient town, still walkable but if you're feeling lazy, just grab a bike at the junction will do. Perhaps the only downside is that it's located inside a rather dark alley, especially when the night falls. Also, there's no lift in the building but the owner will help to carry if you have big luggage."
