I was unexpectedly stranded at Shenzhen North (Shenzhenbei) during the busy holiday season and urgently needed a place to stay. After comparing several listings on Trip.com, this hostel stood out based on its reviews, and it fully lived up to my expectations. The photos are accurate and reflect the property exactly as it is. The host prepared the bed sheets and pillowcases right in front of me, which immediately reassured me about the cleanliness. Everything was spotless and well maintained. Cleanliness is one of my top priorities when choosing accommodation because I value my health, and I felt completely comfortable staying here. I saw no pests or anything unhygienic, so if you’re concerned about that, you can rest easy. The host speaks basic English and was very welcoming. Since I had just traveled from Hong Kong Airport to Shenzhen North, he even kindly offered to show me around the area. There are plenty of food options nearby, I enjoyed Lanzhou noodles and stinky tofu just steps from the building. For clarification, the hostel is located inside an apartment building and operates in a dorm-style setup. Shoes are removed at the entrance, and guest slippers are provided. There is a comfortable common area with a sofa and dining table, free drinking water, and complimentary toiletries including a toothbrush and disposable towel, which was especially helpful since I had forgotten to pack one. The bathroom is modern and equipped with a Western-style sit-down toilet. Each bed has its own privacy curtain and personal light, which I appreciated. There are also power outlets conveniently located at each bed. Wi-Fi worked smoothly without any issues, and free laundry is available, which is a great bonus for travelers. There are designated quiet hours, so you can sleep comfortably. During my stay, it was peaceful and no one snored. The host even asked whether I snore, which shows he is considerate of all guests. The other guests were polite and respectful. I was the only foreigner staying there, and the rest were Chinese travelers who were likely in the same situation, unable to secure train tickets that night. The property is non-smoking, which I also appreciated. The only minor downside is for taller guests. I am 183 cm (6 ft), and I had to curl up slightly since the bed length appears to be around 180 cm. It was manageable, but something to keep in mind if you’re tall. The location is very convenient. It’s next to the train station, and you can easily take the subway if you have luggage. It only cost me 2 RMB to ride, so there’s really no need to take a taxi. In the morning, I bought pork steamed buns and soy milk from a nearby vendor, he was friendly, and the food was great. For $4, this was outstanding value. If you’re looking for a clean, affordable, and convenient place to stay near Shenzhen North, this is an excellent option. Nice boutique hotel. Convenient to metro and lots of eateries around. Clean and excellent friendly staff plus chambermaids, who took very good care of us.

Check in was smooth. Room is a bit small to my booking type. Great location, right at the gate to Dongmen shopping mall and a door step to metro. The downside is delivery to door was impossible for hotel floors.

I stayed here for the second time, in a room in a developed commercial area, surrounded by numerous malls, close to the KKMAll Mixc shopping center and many good tourist areas. It's within 500 meters by skytrain, just a short distance from the station to the Lowu station, very convenient. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the check-in counter cooperates with excellent service. The housekeeper cleans every day, quite clean. When compared to the price, it's very worth it. I will definitely come back to stay here again. 😊

I had a great stay at this hostel in Shenzhen. The location was convenient, the rooms were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It had a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere and good value for the price. I’d definitely stay here again on my next visit to the city.

Great location, near to metro stations and Mixc mall. Room decor is aging and our legs knocked on the strange looking bed frame couple of times. Ouuch The cigarette smoke smell from previous tenant lingered for a day. Cleanliness is average but at least the bed sheets and towels are clean.

民宿離東門老街很近。第二次住了，價格很便宜，房子裝潢比較舊，客廳冷氣會滴水。這次住的房間比較小間，特殊裝潢的房間地上的門擋有點危險。連住兩天，有來到垃圾，但是沒注意衛生間的紙巾沒有了

Me and my family enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was clean, comfortable , great location near the metro, plenty of restaurants and close to the mall. Truly enjoyed staying and will go back again.

We are a group of 7 friends. I made a reservation for all of us together and paid around 8€, which I thought was a very good price. The day we arrived, the owner told us the price was per person and not for the whole booking, which was odd as the reservation already had our 7 names on it, but also reasonable considering the very low price. After our stay I can honestly say that the original price of 8€ for 7 is the maximum I would have paid for this place. The rooms themselves are not too bad and in line with the Chinese standard (quite right, very hard and slim futon mattresses), but also clean sheets and good privacy with curtains. The real issue with this place are the bathrooms. First of all there are only two of them for more than 20 people. Secondly, they are nothing short of disgusting. One of them is a room with a squatting toilet, a sink and a shower that smells like piss worse than a public toilet. The second one has a Western toilet with a broken toilet seat and a shower without a shower head (basically like a garden hose). I normally don't complain about these things as I'm used to traveling on a budget. But as I said, these are things I would have totally accepted if the price I paid was indeed the original one I made a reservation for. Especially because for that price (as a group of 7) you can find cheaper and nicer options in the same area. I would not recommend this place unless you really can't find anything cheaper or better, or if you want to be very close to the civic center. Definitely not a good place to stay more than 1 night.
