"I recently spent five nights (four days) at this wonderful property, and overall, it was an outstanding experience. The Hospitality The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the host. He was incredibly hospitable and always on hand to assist us at a moment's notice. Whether we needed extra amenities or a quick replacement for something in the room, he dealt with it immediately. Furthermore, his local knowledge was invaluable; he provided excellent recommendations for sightseeing and dining, and he went above and beyond to help resolve a few personal issues we encountered during our trip. The Location The location is perfect—smack-bang in the middle of everything. Because it is so centrally located, you have attractions to both the left and the right, meaning nothing is ever too far away. It serves as a brilliant base for exploring the area. Points to Note While I would still give this stay a full 10/10, there are a few things to be aware of: Noise Levels: Due to the stunning views, the property is quite exposed to the sounds of the local traffic and passing cruises. There was also some ongoing construction noise nearby, which is understandable given the area's development, but it’s worth noting if you are a light sleeper. Facilities: The laundry facilities are a bit limited, with only one small washing machine available. A couple more machines would definitely be a welcome addition for guests . Summary Despite the minor noise issues, the place is absolutely awesome. The warmth of the host and the convenience of the location far outweigh any downsides. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!"

"I was looking for a place close to the three pagodas, and still in the ancient town of Dali. This place is only 800 meters or so away from Chongsheng Temple and the three pagodas sites. Lots of restaurants and shops around. As soon as I arrived, the owner upgraded my room. He speaks very good English. He is a very friendly person. In the morning, he recommended a few places to visit.i have extended my stay one more night. The place is very clean and up on the roof level you see the tallest pagoda and rhe beautiful mountains, Erhai lake. It is a wonderful place to stay and I can recommend it. I'd stay here again."

"The best hotel experience of this trip is mainly due to the hotel's service. The butler, Liu, is very attentive and meticulous, which is the best service I've ever experienced. Super awesome!!! The hotel scenery is beautiful, located on the edge of Shuanglang Scenic Area, and every angle is very photogenic. The room facilities are complete and considerate, and there are very complete supplies for children, clean and tidy. There is a fruit plate when we arrive. In the evening, they also send good night milk, and the children really like the kittens in the shop. Butler Liu introduced the surrounding attractions, delicious food, and matters needing attention in detail, really considering for customers, and the experience is super good. Next time I come to Dali, I will stay here again👍"

PPauline HengWould like to thanks Miss Xiao Yu, Mr and Mrs She, the owner of the place for making my Dali stays with them a wonderful and an amazing one. They are very friendly. All my requests and queries were answer promptly. They make good suggestion and give advice which improve my travel plans together with my family greatly. The room was clean and tasty decorated so is the breakfast. Although it was served in a different building but it is just 3 mins way by walking. Not to mention that the hotel are surrounded by lots of different type of restaurant, eatery, bakery and convenient stores. It is also located within walking distance to Dali Ancient Old Town and San yue street.

MMrs LeafIf I could, I’ll give a score of 100/10! This is such a fantastic experience staying here. What is so impressive is the SERVICE and the actual room facilities. The staff is soooooooo friendly and helpful - he basically helped me plan my itinerary every day because I came with zero plans and only wanted to relax. He helped me to plan my route and book a car for day use. And the driver is amazing too - he brought me to try 扎染 tie dye even when I didn’t know anything about it. He made sure I went to a local experience instead of expensive tourist trap. And he’s great at taking photos too! Back to the staff. He would understand what I’m interested in and then give suggestions that I’ll like. Amazing. And there is even a whole list of things to watch out for when visiting all the tourists attractions. When you arrive, they’ll also message you all the places to eat. There is also a convenience store right downstairs if you want to buy anything. They also gives you instructions if you want food delivery. So detailed!! And they are so proud of the fact that their rooms are exactly what it looked like on the app. So clean so new so amazing. Look at that view! You wake up to the view of the vast sea. And there is a giant bath tub for you to experience soaking in bubble bath (also given) at the same time. The toilets are always the make or break when travelling. And the toilets are amazing again. AUTOMATIC flush and the seat cover automatically opens and close. My goodness. And the shower has different outlets if you want some form of water acupuncture 🤣 very modern. And they even have a towel dryer/heater!!! You can dry anything small and it’ll be dry and crisp. Normally hotel pillows give me headaches. But not here! They have the latex foam pillow and also the normal fluffy pillows. It is so suitable and comfortable for me who is accustomed to memory foam pillows. How can accommodation get so detailed and excellent? Breakfast is another wonderful experience. You go the dining area and an aunty cooks porridge or noodles or meat buns or corn or sweet potatoes and serve them to you. There is even soya bean drink and fritters and lots of sauces and seasonings and small bites. And there is unlimited bottled beverages like honey jasmine tea or oolong tea and fruits and coffee. How do they even make a profit? And there is even a place to rest and relax and drink tea if you come with friends. I can’t wait to come back here with more friends and family and let me experience what I enjoyed so much here. Thank you to the staff and to the boss! 😁😍

Everything was nicely prepared and felt like a proper home. The highlight was definitely the stunning lake view right from our window—perfect for sunrise lovers. 👩💼 Host experience: The homestay staff was incredibly friendly and understanding. She even arranged a free ride from the railway station, which we truly appreciated after a long day of travel. 🚧 Outside facilities: This is where it gets a bit mixed. The overall apartment complex (including the parking lot and elevator) felt poorly maintained, and the atmosphere at night was dark and slightly eerie, especially for solo travelers or couples. Many neighboring units seemed unoccupied, which added to the quiet, empty vibe. 📍 Location: Take note—this place is about 50 minutes from Dali Ancient City, so it’s not ideal if you’re planning to explore the old town daily. But if you want to relax by the lake and enjoy peace and views, it could work. JJovin_WongI had an absolutely wonderful stay at Dali Ancient Town Meishan Guesthouse, and it exceeded my expectations in every possible way. Location – unbeatable and worry-free The location is extremely convenient, right in the heart of Dali Ancient Town. As soon as you step outside, you’re surrounded by beautiful ancient streets and alleys, full of local character. 2-3 mins walk away from the Bars. Attractions, cafes, shops, and amazing food are all within walking distance, which made exploring incredibly easy and stress-free. From check-in to check-out, the entire stay felt completely worry-free. Service – warm, genuine, and unforgettable The biggest highlight of this guesthouse is without a doubt the host. The lady boss is unbelievably friendly, considerate, and welcoming. She is super nice, enthusiastic, and very meticulous in everything she does. From contacting me in advance, patiently explaining routes, to sharing travel tips and local suggestions, she made me feel taken care of even before I arrived. Staying here truly felt like coming home rather than staying at a guesthouse. What made this stay truly special was the personal connection. She even invited me to join a barbecue with her and her friends. We had drinks, chatted late into the night, and shared stories about our cultures, life views, and experiences. Even though I only stayed for two nights, that evening made my time in Dali unforgettable. I felt incredibly lucky to have arrived back just in time for the barbecue. The Bai Jiu, the Yi Zu-style barbecue pork, and the homemade dumplings she made were all fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, warm, and full of laughter. Even small details were fun, like the pot cover shaped like the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy, which gave us a good laugh. It was one of those nights you don’t plan for, but it’s the highlight of the trip that you will remember for a long time. 😎 Room & Sleep Quality – quiet, comfortable, and well designed The room itself was quiet and very comfortable, with good sound insulation and a thoughtful renovation design that blends modern comfort with traditional charm. The bedding was clean and high quality, and the bathroom was spotless and well equipped. I slept extremely well every night. The entire guesthouse is beautifully designed, cozy, and relaxing, making it easy to unwind after a day of exploring. Value – exquisite and worth every penny This is a highly cost-effective and exquisite accommodation. You can see the attention to detail everywhere, from the design to the service. It perfectly balances the charm of the ancient town with modern convenience. It’s absolutely worth experiencing, and I would not hesitate to stay here again on my next trip. Final thoughts I returned home a few days ago, but when I think back on my trip to Yunnan, Dali still stands out as the most chill and relaxing place and Meishan Guesthouse is a big reason why. The friendly host, the warm atmosphere, and the meaningful conversations made this stay truly special. If I could give 11 stars, I would. Hands down one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. SSinclair HsuWe took DiDi (Uber equivalent) there in rain, two front desk ladies rushed out with umbrella for us and then they handled our luggage in rain. We were so moved by their enthusiasm. My Alipay app somehow went wrong with an error code when ordering food from a restaurant for delivery. It ended up that two front desk staff ordered food for us and then I repaid them by Alipay. They could have just ignored us for such unusual request. But they helped us like helping their own elders. This hotel has two set of washers and dryers for complimentary self-service laundry. The laundry room was like an unofficial social room. This hotel is actually quite new. Rooms are spacious and clean. The layout and design, especially for the bathroom, were very elegant and practical. I definitely would come back for a longer stay.

AAnya RizqiI highly recommend this hotel for its amazing service. We were impressed with the level of service, especially considering the slight language barrier. Although English was not the first language of the staff, they went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. Whenever I had a question or request, they were patient, friendly, and used translation tools to communicate clearly. They made us feel comfortable and valued, which is something we truly appreciate. The front desk staff even made extra effort to ensure we get the ticket to JDSM. The service was so attentive, and it was clear that they genuinely cared about making our stay as pleasant as possible. It's not always easy to navigate a language difference, but they turned it into a non-issue with their kindness and professionalism. Good Job.

MMisafir KullanıcıHotel staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect as it is right next to where all the beauty unfolds. Room was clean with proper amenities to ensure a pleasant stay. The hotel is right by the pier which means you will have to carry your luggage a ways but the team is more than willing to help. Will definitely book again in the near future.
