It got off to a bad start; we were dropped off at the end of Daru Lane and the hotel was just across Shengli Brigde. Unfortunately there was a minor repair work along Pingjiang Road leading to Hotel, so we have to make a detour via Pingjiangli, Xiaojia Lane and Xuegao Bridge. We were checked in with amicable and heartwarming hospitality. The receptionist provided us with extra breakfast coupons, helped with luggages, and showed us to our room. She gave us directions on where to go to hail taxi and the drop off points closest to the hotel. The housekeeping auntie was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious and had strong air conditioning. The location is perfect for exploring Pingjiang Road, Guanqian Steet and nearby attractions. We wandered along Pingjiang Road, explored alleys/stone bridges and attractions. We also did a walking tour for Suzhou Museum, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Grove Garden.

The service is very good from receptionist to cleaner. Free wash clothes and dryer as well. Also no lift but the guy receptionist was so quick and steadily Carey our bags up when we check in and with just a call to the reception he came up immediately and help us carry our bags down when we check out ! Service tip top for the price. Will come back again if I have the chance. 太满意啦 ！

I stayed in Suzhou for a weekend between two factory visits. I wanted a place in the main tourist area of Gusu Yard. I liked the look of DongHuaLi hotel and it don’t let me down. It’s a short stroll (200 meters) down a lane off the road and literally on the other side of the canal from the hordes of tourists thronging Pingjiang Lu. You wouldn’t know from the hotel as it was nice and quiet. You could also get out of the area without hitting the tourists. Staff re very welcoming. I had the 3rd floor balcony room. Small but nice. Clothes washing facilities were good. Ground floor breakfast area/reception was clean and bright. I did pay for breakfast but never got out of bed early enough to try it. I’d definitely stay here again. Lovely place.

Fillmore Hotel is always a comfortable stay for my dad, when he travels to Suzhou for work trips. This is his 2nd time staying at this hotel and he always comes back here despite there being a range of other hotels nearby as well. Service was good by the staff as they treat guests very well, the facilities are just what you would expect for a hotel at this price point. The location was good too, recommended for solo travellers who are looking for a no-frills and basic hotel stay in this area!

It was an excellent experience from start to finish. The hotel is very well-maintained. The rooms are spacious, tidy, and thoughtfully designed, with comfortable beds and all the essential amenities. The location is fantastic and convenient for getting around Suzhou. There are shops, cafés, and restaurants nearby, and it’s easy to reach the major attractions. It’s a great balance of comfort and convenience. Staff service was friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and the team was always ready to assist with questions or directions. Overall, Zizi Hotel offers great value for money. It’s perfect for families, or anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Suzhou. I would definitely come back again.

Overall an enjoyable and relaxing one night stay at this tiny cosy hotel in Zhouzhuang, for our final leg of our 6 days Suzhou trip. We took a didi over to Zhouzhuang, which was faster and cheaper than I expected, just a little over half an hour. The hotel staff called me the day before to arrange for pick-up near the watertown ticket office. Actually I can't speak Mandarin and their English wasn't too good but we ended up chatting on Wechat as Wechat has a built-in translate function in their chat. So, 15 minutes before we arrive, we just had to let them know on Wechat. And the staff is already waiting for us, helped us with the luggage and guided us through the ticket buying process. You do have to pay for the ¥100 RMB ticket to get into the watertown and the ticket is good for 3 days. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the entrance. I picked this hotel because it was right inside the watertown and it had the ancient Chinese interior, although all the amenities are modern, including a robust and high-tech Kohler smart toilets in each bathroom. There is a nice coffee shop inside the hotel and the coffee shop owner is friendly and takes his coffee craft seriously. The hotel gives you 2 free drinks during your stay and the coffee menu is quite extensive. If the hotel rooms are not booked on that day, we are told the hotel opens their doors to coffee customers. The hotel owner is actually younger than I expected so I am impressed she meticulously created this authentic experience and the attention to detail. She was friendly and helpful and was open to accommodating our needs. We booked the entire 2nd floor, which was 3 bedrooms and we had 6 adults in our group. This tiny hotel only has 3 bedrooms so if you booked all 3 rooms, you pretty much get the entire hotel to yourselves which include the first floor which is spacious and comfy. When I visit Zhouzhuang again, I am looking forward to stay here again. It's certainly not cheap, but you do get what you pay for - which is people passionate about hospitality (in a Chinese way) and also a hygiene and staying experience that is certainly up to international standards.

What we liked about the place: - Convenient location; surrounded by happening commercial area and near local attractions - Great service overall - Room design and space was amazing considering the price What were meh: - Really poor soundproofing; could hear lots of loud noises and conversations from outside directly in the room; woke us up a couple times - AC system took a while to figure out, feels like there’s a lag - Because the hotel is in a commercial building itself, most rooms do not get a window; however, how they’ve mitigated this is by having artificial internal windows with a bright mini-garden view which I suppose was a relatively good fix. But can feel a little “tight” Important: The hotel is at the 4th floor of a commercial building, and is a short walk in from the Didi/car drop point. Do not be confused with another “Humble Hotel” opposite the Mercure hotel, contact the hotel for directions.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Suzhou Xunyi Holiday B&B, and I must say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm hospitality and attention to detail. Comfortable and Clean Rooms: The rooms at Suzhou Xunyi are nothing short of fantastic. They are spacious, well-appointed, and meticulously clean. The comfortable beds and serene ambiance ensured a restful night’s sleep after a long day of exploring. Refreshing Swimming Pool: The outdoor swimming pool is an oasis of tranquility. Crystal clear water, surrounded by lush greenery, provides the perfect escape from everyday stress. Whether you’re doing laps or simply lounging by the pool, it’s a delightful spot to unwind. Breathtaking Views: Suzhou Xunyi’s location is a dream come true for nature enthusiasts. You can choose to climb nearby mountains or simply soak in the stunning views of the serene lake. It’s a paradise for those seeking both relaxation and adventure. Exceptional Hosts: The hosts, whom I had the pleasure of meeting, are truly remarkable. Their passion for hospitality shines through in every aspect of the B&B. They are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about their guests’ well-being. Affordable Green Tea: I appreciated the thoughtful touch of having green tea available at a fair price. It’s a small detail, but it made my stay even more enjoyable. In summary, Suzhou Xunyi Holiday B&B is a gem. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat or an exciting mountain-climbing adventure. All the best to this wonderful hotel! Chris

The location is excellent as it is just a stone throw away from Guanqian Street. Plenty of good food (local delicacies) nearby. We enjoyed our stay as the staff was hospitable in checking with us amenities that need to be replenished. However, for the room type that we have chosen (with loft), it is not suitable for people who are above 1.7m height as we knocked on our head every day due to the ceiling structure. It would also be good that if the homestay's shower head water flow could be stronger.

Staying in Mingcheng Suyue was such an excellent experience given the location which was very near to Suzhou tourist spot and railway station. It has many establishment ang restaurant near the area. And very accessible if you are riding Didi. Most of all, all their staff are so friendly, courteous and they even gave us an upgrade room with window plus additional 1 free bottled water which was such a delight to us customers. Super highly recommended and I will surely book to this hotel again if given the chance to go back again in Suzhou.
