This was the most incredible experience. Dedicated staff and hotel that is committed to providing an authentic and relaxing experience. The amenities, onsen and food were outstanding.

Had a delightful stay at the ryokan. The rooms are quite impeccable with the smell of the hinoki filling the room, it was quite heavenly. We chose the room with the outdoor bath. And given the cool weather, our bathing experience was amazing. The location was also perfect if you are making a trip to the Sengokuhara Susuki Pampas Grass fields, which is such a scenic spot and of which we enjoyed walked to and through in the setting sun. We also opted to have dinner at the ryokan, who specially made it Halal-friendly for us. What's most amazing to us regarding the ryokan was the service. We had a Nepalese staff speaking with us most of the time, as he was the best in English. He personally brought us to our room and even gave an introduction to the room, and what we needed to take note off. After we checked out, he enquired how we were making our way to the train station. There was conveniently located bus stop just outside the ryokan, so we were going to take that. On our way out, he drove out and stopped along the road beside us (good thing there was no traffic) and to our utter surprise offered to drive us to the train station. We found out that he was actually knocking off, but instead of going straight home to rest (before his next shift in the evening), he wanted to drive us to the station. We were exceptionally touched at his extremely kind gesture (as we didn't think it was hotel protocol to do so). Nonetheless, his actions left us a beautiful and lasting impression on the ryokan. Would definitely go again for the luxurious experience!

Really nice hotel at Hakone Ashi Lake. Location is a little remote but they have a shuttle bus from Odawara St. And it's nice and quiet.. The rooms have bakconies, I had with Lake view...sooo nice.

Otel, Gora İstasyonu'na çok yakın, sadece 5 dakikalık yürüme mesafesinde. Bölge düz, bu yüzden bagajları itmek kolay. Oda harikaydı! Ocak ve tabaklar vardı ve her şey özenle düzenlenmişti. Banyo tezgahı da genişti ve cilt bakımı ve makyaj için bolca alan vardı. Banyoda ayrıca istediğiniz zaman ıslanmak için mükemmel bir kaplıca küveti vardı. Açık büfenin geri kalanı geniş bir seçkiye sahipti ve ayrıca geniş bir alkol yelpazesi de vardı. Yakınlarda, cam eşyalarınızı kendiniz yapabileceğiniz bir alana sahip, güzelce bakımlı, peyzajlı bir park olan Gora Park bulunuyor. Fiyatlar Çin'dekinden çok daha uygun. Çocuklu aileler için harika bir yer. Eksileri: Demiryolu hattına yakın olduğu için geçen trenlerden hafif bir titreşim oluyor. Ayrıca biraz pahalı. İki yetişkin ve iki çocuk için kahvaltı ve akşam yemeği dahil iki gece için 9.000 NT$'ın üzerinde harcadık. Genel olarak, şiddetle tavsiye ederim. Hem hizmet hem de ortam, gerçek bir tatil hissi veriyor. Tamamen dinlendiriciydi.

The private onsen service was terrible. Please do not get the private onsen. The receptionist in the onsen does not understand english. The receptionist also did not assist us. The time was also incorrect. We were supposed to have 8-9 and 9-10 slot. But ahe is so confused. And 9:30 they are already knocking our doors calling us to come out. A totally bad experience in the private onsen. The hotel is ok. Food is also good. The private onsen which was supposed to be the highlight of our trip… became the worst. Total waste of money

Overall an ok stay. A bit hard to find, very limited English spoken by the staff which led to some confusion (even for the representatives who were assigned to us by English speakers). Felt quite formal and not that warm Room was more or less as expected, and the dinner and breakfast meals were quite elaborate. Felt that breakfast was actually the stronger meal of the two, so wasn’t necessarily worth it to pay extra for dinner. I’d likely skip doing dinner in the future. The room attendant who helped us was very kind and attentive, although we had a bit of language barrier given we don’t speak Japanese. The big disappointment was even though the ryokan is advertised as allowing guests to book one of the larger hot springs on the property for private use for 45 minutes, we weren’t able to do this. We arrived within the designated check in time and were told that it was all booked up for the day. There was no way to book in advance and we were only staying for one night, and they didn’t try to accommodate allowing us to book at all for the next day before checkout. This really hampered the experience overall - we weren’t that interested in using the gender segregated facility (was traveling with my partner who is the opposite gender) as we wouldn’t be able to spend time together, and the tub in our room was quite small. They should amend this policy to allow all guests to book a private hot spring time or not advertise it as part of the room! Feels like we got cheated out of the service and we weren’t offered anything else as an alternative. I would have booked another ryokan had I known this were the case - there are many others in Hakone which are much better value and have nicer / newer private facilities for around the same price. I wouldn’t recommend Yama no Chaya given this was a big part of what we thought would make it a good experience

Need to walk a bit from the train station but there is a shuttle bus from here to the train station. Customer service was great and enjoyed the bath outdoor in rainy weather.

Very nice (and spacious - by tokyo standards) hotel!! We had a balcony view of the mountain and the golf course. I didn't read the description and was pleasantly surprised that there was an onsen (must pay 150 yen usage fee per person). It was a really nice onsen too. It was raining the day that we got there and it made the outdoor onsen just magical with the rain in the backdrop. However, they do not allow tattooed guests into the onsen so foreigners, please be aware. The room was nice and gave old timey feels. I appreciated the big, long couch too. One drawback was that there was no microwave in the whole building :( But overall, would come back. It's a 10 minute walk from the T Tozan bus (so you can get there pretty quickly from the Togendai bus/ropeway station. The Lawson is right there next to the bus stop too (we got to go while the Evangelion collab was going on). The hotel has a free shuttle bus to various locations too so I would inquire about those upon check-in since those have to be booked the day before, but if you have the Hakone free pass and don't mind walking, it's pretty accessible via the Tozan bus lines

Ailem bu otelde kalmaktan gerçekten keyif aldı! Personel güler yüzlü, nazik ve yardımsever. Oda temiz ve ferahtı ve odamızdan Fuji Dağı'nı görebiliyorduk. Bahçe geceleri çok güzel ve Fuji Dağı'nı izlemek için de harika bir yer. Açık büfe akşam yemeği harikaydı ve kaplıca deneyimini çok sevdik! Otel, çıkış yaptıktan sonra bizi en yakın Ubako istasyonuna götürmek için ücretsiz servis otobüsü bile sağladı. Kesinlikle tekrar burada kalmayı umuyoruz!
