Dali Taoxi Mengdie Secret Manor,Nurtured by the exquisite landscapes of Cangshan’s Peach Stream, it is an upscale resort manor integrating life aesthetics, local culture and natural healing. Crafted by the owner over more than a decade alongside one of the Eighteen Streams of Cangshan, it stands as a vessel of time and a spiritual sanctuary.
"Zhuangzi Dreamed of Butterflies; dwell in the Peach Blossom Land. Here you reclaim the poetry and freedom between Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake."
Polished through years of refinement, it has evolved from an original secluded mountain retreat into an exclusive hideaway that embraces traditional Chinese culture and local spirit, blending wild luxury with private hot springs. Every corner of the estate is bathed in the breeze of Cangshan, the moonlight of Erhai Lake, and the earthly poetic charm of Dali.
This is no sterile luxury hotel, but an immersive local experience centered on natural healing, cultural immersion and spiritual awakening. Rise early for a hike into Cangshan Mountain, listen to the gurgling Peach Stream, and watch sea of clouds drift over pine forests. Spend the afternoon sipping authentic Dali tea in the Zen courtyard, as sunlight and shadow linger upon Bai ethnic wood carvings. At night, fall asleep to mountain breezes, with a sky full of stars twinkling overhead.
Tucked away in lush gardens, our guest rooms infuse Bai ethnic intangible cultural heritage, local art, yoga meditation and natural healing into every moment of your stay. Every guest may cast aside weariness amid mountains and rivers, find inner peace in cultural nourishment, and reconnect with oneself through healing serenity.
At Taoxi Mengdie, what you encounter is far more than a manor—it is the most authentic way of life in Dali. With Cangshan as your backdrop and the Three Pagodas as your mirror, mountains and rivers as your neighbors and poetry as your constant companion, this is an ideal abode where everyday life turns into a poem.
"Hotel Service staffs were all very welcoming and approachable from the moment we arrived until the day we depart. They had provided us with a free pick up from the Dali Railway station to the hotel and free drop off at the Dali Airport which we greatly appreciated.
Upon our arrival, they assigned a personal concierge 小婷 who was very helpful and see to all our requests were attended to.
We booked an MPV with driver through the hotel to take us on a day tour to Shangri-la which we had an enjoyable journey and time there. The hotel dealing with their service provider for the Car & Driver are very open and above board. We had made a mistake to make payment to the Driver at the end of the day instead of through them which may have cause them to double check us. The Front Desk Service Staff clearly explained to us and help to resolve the issue it promptly and professionally.
Their breakfast provided had a very good spread and selections. They were good and nice.
We had dinner at their restaurant after a tiring day out. Their restaurant Service Staffs were very nice and attentive. The food were all fresh prepared and cooked to our order. Even though there was only one cook on duty that night, the wait time wasn't too long. All the dishes were very well presented and delicious. We all had a thoroughly great and enjoyable dinner.
Picking on some minor issues, we had booked 2 rooms with mountain view but allocated one with mountain view and another one with a courtyard garden view and half blocked view of the distance mountain. (Room 8106). This room somehow seem to be colder than our daughters room even though we tried adjusting the air conditioning temperature up but it just doesn't warm up enough.
Overall, we had a very nice and enjoyable stay here and will definitely consider stay here again on our next visit to Dali."
