This is the second time staying at De Wagen Stellenbosch. 10/10!!! Perfectly situated just off Dorp street. Our favourite bedrooms are rooms 5 & 6. So comfortable and magnificently decorated from the oak floors, armoire with robes and slippers to a beautiful coffee station, bathroom etc. The linen was a beautiful crisp white and of top quality. We loved spending time in the lounge on the ground floor, opposite reception in the afternoons or just before dinner The lounge works on honesty basis. Everything from Cappuccino, bubbles a variety of wines and general beverages etc. Abel the Manager was so helpful and was only too happy to suggest and book restaurants etc we should try during our 1 week stay. Tim who was front of desk was great! We can’t wait to visit again.

We needed a quick get away from the CBD and found the best spot in Stellies. Staff were incredibly warm and helpful, especially Namhle at reception. The property is walking distance to the restaurants and bars on the main road which kept us entertained, however they is a very lovely restaurant on the property serving hearty dinners and delicious breakfasts. The room was very well appointed with a gorgeous stand alone bath to indulge in. Country living at its best. We were sad to leave. Definitely worth a visit! highly recommend:)

Our 4th stay at SS de Wagen. A perfect romantic evening/weekend getaway. From luxurious surroundings and exquisite furnishing and bedding makes a worthwile visit. Great and easily accessable location to town. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommendable.

We had an unbelievable stay at Southern Sun De Wagen, In the heart of Stellenbosch. We were met by friendly front office staff who made us feel so welcomed. We were showed our room and staff took extra time to explain the room to us. Even offer to start a cosy fire for us in our room. The Room was spacious and had all the amenities. The next morning we had breakfast in "De Volkskombuis". TOP quality To the General Manager Abel Pienaar and his team, thank you for making our stay memorable. Being in the aviation industry, I Will certainly promote your hotel. Thank you!! Deon Tebbutt

The ambiance was extremely nice. Everything was beautiful, clean, and organized in the room. The workers at the check in were very helpful as they reserved a table for us at a nice restaurant upon request. We also enjoyed some complimentary wine when we arrived. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Amazing hotel! We only stayed here for one night and regret not booking for more. The room was clean and really comfortable. The beds were above expectations -really comfortable and the bed linen was great. The bathroom was well equipped with plenty of towels and complementary toiletries. We used the lounge in the evening which is well decorated and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. We had breakfast in the restaurant(included in our stay) and I can honestly say we haven’t had a breakfast as good in any other hotel we’ve ever been to. Our biggest regret other than not staying longer was not booking the restaurant for our evening meal. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back.

We always stay at the de Wagen . Home from home .Clean excellent service and wonderful staff . The beautifully restorated historical building with a modern lounge and pool area and inclusive full breakfast tick all the boxes and offers good value for money.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Excellent facilities and convenient location next to Dorp Street. Small personal touches made this a special stay for us. Historical buildings have been sensitively restored and the courtyard feel of the establishment sets it apart from other large chain hotels.
