Beautiful colonial hotel. From the terrace, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the white city of Sucre. Highly recommended.

My family from USA, Brazil & Bolivia (9 persons). Celebrated my daughter’s & my birthdays together for 3 days. Hotel blocked a group of rooms and gave us especial price. Everyone loved the place, drinks at the rooftop bar. Unforgettable. Gourmet dinner at the Watanay restaurant in the underground. It is my fourth stay. Couldn’t be happier. Should be on everyone’s bucket list. Sucre is colonial, quit lovely city with great restaurants

The staff at this hotel were the most helpful that we have come across on our travels in Bolivia. They went out of their way to help us on a practical level. The hotel itself is beautiful. The receptionist, Siria Sandoval was exceptionally helpful.

The hotel interior, rooftop terrace, and basement rooms are beautiful and historic. Unfortunately, the rooms have issues. The smell when you first enter the room is that of chemicals- such as insect spray. The bathroom continually smells of sewer, but the intensity waxes and wanes. My doorknob was broken and the door only worked by the key. My safe was locked so I couldn’t use it. There was no way to heat or cool the room. My room was too hot. I could hear other guests talking until after midnight. My first morning the shower went from warm to completely cold while I had shampoo on my hair. To get hot water in the first place, I had to run the tap for nearly five minutes. In a city that is predicted to run out of water by 2050, this is criminal (install a hot water circulation system!). There was no lotion provided and only two towels. The hot tubs were empty; I was told you needed to schedule them. I saw three cardio machines but no yoga mat/stretching area. I did not sleep much; I couldn’t wait to leave.

We had a great stay. We were such difficult guests, and the Jack of all Trades Toto and Jose were beyond kind and understanding. The rooms are big and comfy and the location is great. For the price, I doubt you can find a better stay anywhere else in the whole world.

Fortunately we had 4 nights in Sucre in this stately and traditional parador with its beautiful space, levels and charming terraces with views of the city. Our first floor room was very spacious and comfortable with lots of traditional furniture. The main square of Sucre and most of the key sights are just round the corner. In spite of being in the heart of the city, there was no evidence or awareness of this inside this lovely building, dating from 18th century. The owner, Sr Rodriguez, introduced himself on arrival and was a friendly presence throughout. He took great pride in showing us the small museum, beautifully presented, with many interesting cultural objects and private dining area. Breakfast was served in the elegant dining room and was excellent. We had snacks in the cosy bar on our first evening. A gem of a hotel with just 23 rooms.

Pros: excellent location, beautiful colonial layout, clean rooms, gorgeous and modern rooftop bar/restaurant Cons: bathrooms smell bad (makes the entire room smell bad), included breakfast is not good (bread and pastries were stale, coffee was undrinkable, very limited options), the gym is very limited (3 cardio machines), hot tubs were empty, steam room was not working (maybe upon request?). Expensive for Bolivian standards. Did not feel I got my money's worth.

Liked the decoration, furnishing, and great ambiance. Did not like the low level of service, no restaurant, no bar, no expresso machine, and the spa was closed, and only opens partially upon request.

Located in the heart of the old city center of Sucre, beautiful old buildings with several courtyards, terraces with some nice views over the city, a nice rooftop bar and a small spa with jacuzzi. The rooms are charming but a bit outdated, you feel the dust of the old days… they need some renovation. For example the heating is not very good and it gets cold so you might need an extra heater and an extra cover. In the bathroom the hairdryer didn’t work. Breakfast is taken in a nice room, but it is most of the time very chilly there. The food choice and quality are very average. Staff is friendly and helpful. But be aware they are not very fast so sometimes you need to be patient. Probably one of the better options in Sucre, but not on a five stars level. Hopefully they can improve these things as it has the potential.
