Surfers International Apartments

I booked 6 months in advance for a special event via their website but didn’t get a response. When I followed up three weeks after booking I was told that the price has doubled and my room type was no longer available. This was very disappointing because I had booked early to get a room.

I have stayed at various resorts at Surfers Paradise in the last 10 years including multiple times at Surfers International. These have always been at the lower end of the price range. I stayed there in December 2023. On the positive side, the view from the rooms is magnificent. The location of the resort is excellent with a short walk of a few minutes to everything you need. Parking is not a problem and it is free. On the negative side, the room I stayed in was well below average. I am actually unsure if it had been cleaned at all. The balcony had crumbs of crackers and a dozen or so beer nuts spilt everywhere. The shower glass is not transparent because so much soap scum has built up and the shower door has black mould all built up at the bottom. The microwave was disgusting and I avoided using it which was an inconvenience. The couch stunk and the smell was on my clothes when I got up from it. The whole room, in fact, smelt stale and in need of a clean. Also, when I arrived the reception was unattended. There was a note on the glass to ring Bec in case of emergencies. I waited a while suspecting the staff had gone out momentarily. After waiting 30 minutes I tried the emergency number 3 times until I got through. I was told that "Jackie would have sent you an email" about the arrangements, which she had not. My keys were retrieved for me from the after hours safe even though I arrived at 2pm. I usually enjoy my stays at Surfers International. This one did it for me though. The place smells and is in need of a thorough clean.

Thank you for a perfect stay. We hope to stay longer next year the rooms are huge the views fantastic and the out door area is very well kept. The location is great it also was very quiet. Best place in surfers to stay. Ten out of ten

I've stayed at this building several times over the last 20 years. This time I was in a 1 bedroom unit. It provided uninterrupted views of the magnificent Surfers Paradise Beach. The apartment was spacious, clean and comfortably furnished. The staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely outdoor area with heated and pool and barbecue. The gym was recently rebuilt with an excellent range of equipment plus a sauna. It is opposite the beach and a short walk to a multitude of restaurants. A perfect place for a stay in Surfers Paradise.

We stayed from the 16th of October to the 30th of October and what a fabulous place to stay the view from our apartment was so good as we were able to watch the ocean. The apartment was lovely it was well set up with a king size bed and all amenities that are needed in an apartment. The outside area with the pool bbq area and the spa are well set up to sit or swim or just relax in the beautiful surrounding. The staff are very friendly and try to cater to everyone I would highly recommend this fabulous place to stay if you want a good holiday as it's close to resturants shops ocean and tram, see you next May as we can't wait

My wife and I spent a night here this month. Check in was a breeze thanks to our host Jackie. 7th floor, 2 bedroom apartment which was very nice, very clean and well equipped. The view of the beach from the balcony is superb. The hotel is perfectly located near shops and the entertainment precinct. Thank you Jackie for a lovely stay. Nick M

We stayed here for 5 nights. Positives - great view from our apartment on floor 20, great location right next to the beach and Cavill avenue in a clean area, within walking distance to transport etc. spa was great and although the pool wasn’t that warm, it was very nice. Jackie was super friendly and helpful and very apologetic about the issue we had getting in on our first night. Yes, some bits are a bit outdated but there are renovations going on so obviously improvements are being implemented. Negative - the night ‘managers’ or whatever they were meant to be were very unprofessional. Both Eisha (sp) and Sharyn didn’t show any interest in helping us when we couldn’t get in to get our keys which were supposed to be in the safe inside. They just kept saying we don’t have your booking & no we don’t want your booking number and hung up on us 4 times despite the fact we were booked in. I’m not sure where they were situated but they certainly were not going to come or send anyone to help us! We were at the point that we thought we would have to find somewhere else for the night to stay (at 9pm!) and was really stressful. By a bit of luck Brent came along and gave us a room & said to fix it with Jackie in the morning. Jackie was very apologetic in the morning, due to an admin error, our booking had been put in the wrong dates, mistakes happen but the night staff sure left a bad impression, would’ve hated that to happen to some international tourists. I would happily stay here again, just hopefully the night staff will be nicer next time.

We stayed in apt 307 at fist glance the apartment looked to be clean but outdated, but once we had a look around there was a few issues. The Bedroom was small but neat the bed was clean and comfortable the carpet was clean but in need of replacing. The bathroom was large had plenty of storage but was very old and dated and the shower grout need a good clean. The lounge area was a good size but the lounge was in desperate need of being replaced it no cushioning and very uncomfortable. The kitchen area the oven was dirty so we were hesitant to use it also the microwave was unusable as it was rusted, the main reason for get an apartment was to be able to make our own meals but unable to. All the electrical appliances were all past there safety checks due 2019 and we visited in 2021 so very hesitant to use them. The only positives was there was great views from the balcony and Cavill mall within walking distance. While we were there they were in the process of renovations on the outside of the building and balconies hopefully they do the much need inside of the building and it would then become a good place to stay
