The location is really good, old style decor but big rooms, could have more commodities like pool but overall a really nice place for the money.

It is not a massively big hotel yet beautiful, with lush garden in the middle and spacious rooms. The service is top notch, the service people pay attention to people staying at the hotel. The manager and porter helped with unlocking my suitcase that had been stuck for a two days and had become a source of stress. I will be back for sure!

We booked into the Hansa for a treat for a week with a very good rate via trip.com. We are on a long term overlanding trip by motorcycle and I had sprained an ankle on a sandy road so wanted a base to just be whilst it healed before getting back on my bike. This hotel is so lovely...we felt like members of the family, all the staff are so kind, polite and super helpful. The room and facilities were perfect and the hotel is very central in swakopmund so I could hobble about for my daily exercise and get to the beach or the shops. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Very much a 10 out of 10 experience.

The hotel is located in a great place where you can walk to Spar( a big grocery chain) if you need anything. There are also many restaurants and cafes around the area. The room specifically the bathroom and bed were spotless clean. I am extremely OCD but I felt very comfortable. Staff are all helpful and very kind. I dined twice here and food was great. The restaurant was a bit more expensive for the same food vs. room service.

Disclaimer: We only had drinks at the Hansa Hotel so didn’t eat or stay there. The bar is nice enough but hasn’t changed in decades, which probably means its decor will come back into fashion. Clearly the hotel was the place to be seen and stay in Swakopmund in years gone by but has the feel of somewhere that has been left behind. Maybe that makes it a timeless classic, or maybe it makes it a hotel in need of modernisation. I think the latter. That said, service was very very good and prices reasonable. Atmosphere lacked however.

Would definitely stay here again if in Swakopmund (and I hope to return!!). Everyone at the hotel is absolutely lovely and our room was very comfortable. This hotel is full of charm and we've never seen a place so well upkept. People were doing all kinds of maintenance work all day, every day. You can tell everyone really cares about the hotel and the guests. We didn't need our room cleaned most days so put the do not disturb sign up and the housekeeper still left water outside our room each day, which was so considerate! Breakfast was great and so was the dinner we ate one night.

The hotel is good. But the best experience was the food in the restaurant. I had crumbed hake fillet for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked really tasty and the sides were great, especially the potatos. Thanks to shreevha, she was really friendly and kind.

We lived in Swakop in the 80s but had never stayed at The Hansa. Standards are very high, all the staff wear perfectly laundered/clean uniforms, are always smiling, and it is in the centre of the town which these days has everything one would need. Our only disappointments during our 4 days were: we only learnt on day 3 that a cooked breakfast was available; Saturday and Sunday were busy with tourists but there was very few breakfast staff on those 2 days; we went in to the bar on Friday and Saturday evenings and 22:00 was too early for it to close at the weekends because the guests from Germany and Holland were not impressed, especially on the Saturday night. We were also promised a table in the window for our last morning, but upon checking in for breakfast were told it was not possible because it had not been set!! Small details need addressing.
