What a fantastic stay we had during half term!! From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us, and made such a fuss of our 6 yr old daughter. Our room was beautiful, very clean and we had incredible views of the river. Location is perfect, and the local knowledge of the staff was so helpful. We had probably one of the best evening meals in the restaurant and the service was amazing. Breakfast was delicious and again the staff were fantastic. We cannot wait to return to this hotel, cannot recommend it enough!!!

The location is stunning even on dull November days. The view from our room was fab. Yes, some of the decor is dated, but the place is clean and the breakfasts and other food we had were very good. The very pleasant, friendly & efficient staff are probably what make this place a really enjoyable stay. The sort of thing you don't get in the chains and upmarket places. Hope to return.

A repeat visit to one of our favourite locations. Hotel perfectly placed for walks along the river, up to Symonds Yat or just to sit and watch the world go by. Excellent quality food at breakfast, lunch and dinner served by very friendly and helpful team of staff Dog friendly, four legged friends very welcome in and around the hotel. Can't wait to go back

Fabulous independently run (not part of an inflexable group) hotel. Wonderful river views from our room which was very clean, comfy and made up every day. Great walks from the doorstep, leave the car alone for a few days! Lovely restuarant over looking the river with an interesting menu all freshly cooked. Our second visit, but not our last.

We had an overnight stay for my husbands 70th birthday, from start to finish the lodge and staff exceeded our expectations. All the rooms including our upgraded one had lovely river views, comfy beds and everything you could need. The food, breakfast, lunch and dinner outstanding, special mention for my son’s vegan breakfast, which had far more variety than he was expecting. The staff here are a credit to you, without exception. All in all a thoroughly wonderful stay, Thank You!

We stayed here for two nights. And loved it. The room was very nice and big. Staff was very very nice and friendly. Food great specially the breakfast. We were lucky with the weather both days were great and warm enough to sit outside in one of there many seating areas by the river. Couldn't fault anything.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The suite was fantastic, really big, warm & comfy; lovely big bed with lovely soft bedding and plenty of pillows. The bathroom included a wonderful bathtub. Staff are friendly and helpful and they serve good food too. A really lovely stay; thank you :)

we booked for a weekend unfortunately had to leave early due to storm Ashley, The experience we had was fantastic, the staff were so helpful and polite, the food was very good, the rooms was clean and the whole place was peaceful and quiet. we had a lovely walk through the woods next to hotel

Well - just lovely all round. My partner was given a two-night break voucher as a leaving gift from his last job. We had dinner included on the first night and breakfast on both days. Admittedly, not really knowing the area etc that well, despite living relatively close, I didn't know what to expect. I thought it would be mediocre - but it was brilliant. We had a great room - number 1. Spacious and comfortable (great bed!) and plentiful hot water - not always a given, even in very pricey places. Lovely location, too, and perfect for walking the Wye to Monmouth and back, as well as up to the Yat Rock (twice). And the food - just delicious. Such good quality, tasty, and very impressive portions, both for dinner and breakfast. Hopefully, we will return to enjoy it again. The staff members are all friendly and personable and I think really enjoy working in this place. Okay, so it's a little tired-looking, a bit tatty and dated, but it actually doesn't matter. If you provide great good and comfortable amenities, and the location is appealing, these are the main things. I recomment you go and enjoy this lodge and food - you won't be disappointed.
