Everything was perfect till last minute, 😌
But at last.. created family problem by front desk staff.
During the pandemic I was still plan for celebrating our wedding anniversary and my birthday, at last found this heritage hotel with great view. Since my wife was refused to spend time in hotels during pandemic ,I was make some trick for make her accept to stay in hotel.
so I booked the hotel through OTA by myself and paid in advance.
informed to my wife, that one of my friend offers me to stay one night in grand hotel for my wedding anniversary and birthday gift.
some how after some sweet lies, she accepted to stay in hotel.
me and my daughter came first to check in since my wife still had some meetings to attend on the same day.
after check in to original room.we noticed that room is very noisy since next to the water purifiers machine or some AC machines,also room not located in good view.
after informed to the front desk the duty manager was kindly assisted with finding a room with is matching with my expectations. she helped me to find the best view and good room , I only had to pay some little extra money for it ,
since I don't wanted to let my wife knew about room upgrade or any other details, I was asked front desk staff to settle my bill first. and for keep everything clear and secret I was informed clearly to her that I don't need any recipe or invoice.
she was mentioned it's all fine.
we spent a happy stay, enjoyed a afternoon tea,dinner and breakfast in restaurants and staff at service was great hospitality with correct manner. swimming pool was my daughter's favorite and the doorman and poter staff was friendly and kind enough to arrange a Golf car for transportation.
wanted mentioned about concierge counter staff( female) are lazy and the don't like to move their legs for assistance to guests. as when I enter with baggage, no body help at the first place, after went to the Concierge desk the staff was asked me to go to the bell desk but she didn't even check is there have any staff available for service or not. since belldesk has no staff I came back to concierge desk. and staff ask me to wait for the poter to come and help me. seems, hey "it's not my job "
as I know taiwan hospitality in other hotels,more active than your hotel.
some how duty manager was more active and come and help me to store luggage.
But need to mentioned the male staff was in evening shift was more friendly and active with help me to find the convenient shop.
still it's all was great since I was happy with the room and nice city view from balcony 😊.
but the upon check out ,I came with my family together to return the keys and happily say goodbye but the front desk staff was kindly gave the final invoice to my wife and says this is invoice and folio for your room upgrade and other part already paid by OTA. this made me super angry and destroyed my whole trip . even how clearly explained to checked in staff that I don't need any invoice or other information recipe. the whole purpose of keeping secret from my wife was destroyed by the staff was not handover properly.
I have no idea what should I expect from a five star service that even can't do such a simple thing.
this causes my wife keep angry with me and destroyed our happy memories about stay with grand hotel.
